Shinlo blinked and said “wait, you don’t know? Has no humans gone back? I guess not…” he pet the snakes head and said “because his the only one that escaped. The curse is still holding. The stone curse. And all dragons can take a human form if they have the right magic abilities”

Shinzo waved at the doctor and said “greetings! I am Shinlo and this is Isis. We are friends of Ashs…but she doesn’t remember at the moment”

Ash smiled at him weakly and curled closer to him. “You’re too good to me…after all you have been thru…” then she paused and blinked. “Carth…when Shinlo said his name I got flashes…one of him carrying a baby dragon in his arms…”

Ash curled into his chest and said “Carth…I’m sorry…for all of this…I don’t know what’s happening to me…” tears rolled down her cheeks.

Shinlo sighed and said “I can…tell you why. She’s being hunted by a creature like her. Those beasts are made by contact with cursed souls…the men you found. They are trying to take her back to their mistress before Ashs healing and memory recovery can be completed. If she gets her hands on her…she can rewrite the past…and get what she wants” Scarlett looked at him and asked “what is that?” Shinlo sighed and said “she wants to take over this land…with Ash at her side”

Ash looked at him then said “okay…I know I can’t hurt you so…maybe it’s best…”

Shinlo said “it’s like wielding an element but instead of fire or water, it’s the life energy in the body and around it.”

Serena nodded and stepped in, John looking thru the books and muttered under his breath. Drake moved to the front door and opened it, looking around outside.

John found the spell he wanted and said “Fia? You want to run this one?”

Shinlo sighed and said “i said tell you a truth that is not mine to tell. Not till i know what ash is going thru. But…i can confirm the thought path your on is right. She’s much more then she seems and way more then books can tell you. Also, what magic she used back there is mana control. It goes both ways”

Ash tried to sit up, shaking as she said “I don’t know…if I can rest right now…it’s…too much…” she held her head. Shaking worse now.

Scarlet said “when we met she was almost taken by one of those red eyed guys. And she had a strange attack in the woods the next day. Headaches and weakness too…but she’s strong and selfless…” Shinlo nodded and said “her past?” Scarlet shook her head and said “a ranger, up to a few years ago when she was found by the ranger core who found her up north wounded badly…but wearing no winter gear at all.” Shinlo nodded as he tapped his fingers on the arm of the chair. “Seems…she’s lost herself completely…but how?”

Ash looked at her hand a moment then said softly “I saw him behind you and I…knew I had to stop him. But in that alley my wind would do more harm then help. I didn’t know what to do till a wave came over me, like past of me woke for a moment to trigger that power within me…those words I said I don’t know where they came from…”

Shinlo smiled and said “I am Shinlo, also known as the White Snake Warrior. And this is my companion Isis” the snake came from his cloak and bobbed her head at them all. Scarlet said “I’m Scarlet. So can you give us a clue to what the heck is going on?” Shinlo smiled and said “that depends…what do you already know about our Lady Asteria?”

Ash said weakly “but I almost killed that man by ripping the mana out of him…that’s not normal…”

Shinlo smiled the whole time as he was pointed to a chair and said “is there assigned seats or are you going to question me?” Scarlet looked at the man and asked “wait who is this guy?”

Ash shook in the bed and looked at the men “I don’t think…I’m safe…”

Shinlo hummed and said “seems they didn’t know what they were linked to…thinking she was a monster. They’re the ones going around with those beasts and causing the animals to mutate like that…” they made it back to the cabin the same time Scarlet and her friend had. Scarlett ran over and said “is she alright?”
