<Snipped quote by Mihndar>Greek fire is a pretty common knowledge by this period.
Production of mustard gas and its derivatives are also actually an important step for industry so pretty much any up-to-date nation should have them.
As for the last two, my nation is among the leaders in aviation and rocket technology.
I didn't plan to steal your thunder. I just tell you the current status with this game.
Of course you can be the leader in chemistry but you need to think on other developments. Nappalm instead of greek fire, nerve agents as poisons and being the world-leading nation in helium production can help to establish that.
I leave the rest to you.
BTW, there are a number of nations with airships in this setting so if you produce the most helium you can fill your pockets with that business pretty well. By just plain memory there are at least 3 nations who would buy it from you, including mine.

The chemical formula for greek fire has been lost to time, actually, so nobody truly knows what it was made of and the nations of this RP probably don't have napalm yet, considering the first synthetic napalm was developed in 1942 and that is rather late.
Just an example. I'm mainly meaning that we're going to be moving towards more chemical-based weaponry, and potentially might invent something like VX as the RP goes on, with all the ethical ramifications therein.
Well then we're another leader, that's simple to resolve.
Fair enough.

I'll probably think of another creative technological thing to throw in to differentiate our nations a bit.
A challenger to Eisenkreis' technological edge? Come at me, ya filthy commie! =P

Unlike yours, however, I intend for Kataylabinskian technological advances to be chemical rather than industrial in nature. Greek fire, chlorine and mustard gas, helium airships, and potentially V-2 esque primitive missiles.
Behold your USSR.

The People's Republic of Kataylabinsk (or PRK for short)

This is my preliminary claim, let me know if I'm overstepping on anything. I'm going to be going for a technologically advanced and industrialized (for the time period, so like 1940) but low population nation of various species that is attempting to foment worldwide revolution both actively and passively by presenting an image of itself as a worker's paradise where all races can get along. In reality, it will be more authoritarian.

@Raijinslayer
I just used Paint and drew lines.
Map of Osetia

I see what you did there... Kerbin.

Other than calling your reference, I'm quite interested in this RP concept, so I will put up a claim and a nation sheet shortly for your viewing pleasure. Should it be posted here or in the character tab?

The Cindorayi, Population: 114, Year 12 IL (Inland), Age of the New Moon

Picture-Makers from the East

@Cuddle Pot
One of the strange creatures quickly took the necklace and put it on itself, prompting slight laughter from the two Cindorayi since it was far too big for any of them. They then curiously came together facing each other, which the Cindorayi couldn't make heads or tails of.

One of the other creatures picked up a stick and started making what looked like drawings, a picture of a gathering of their two species centered around the crystal. There was the noise of pounding paws behind the two, and Ekatyrina and a few other females arrived, passing between them to examine the drawing.

"It appears that they place the same emphasis on the crystals we do, and I think they mean to name themselves, as the Gui, either that or they mean that there is some sort of connection between us." Ekatyrina pointed to herself and the others, now numbering five, saying "Cindorayi." repeatedly.

She also pointed to the crystal, and said "moon crystal" in the Cindorayi language.

---

With the advent of rice-based agriculture, the amount of space taken up by the Cindorayi civilization has greatly increased. Andrei, the councilor of agriculture, recommended that they begin construction of a new village to the west, which Ekatyrina quickly agreed with. The simple construction of a new village was not all that happened, however, as some Cindorayi chose to build dwellings and farms farther away from the new village center, preferring to remain mostly isolated. As a result, the third, western village is becoming a sprawling, unplanned farm town which provides a great deal of food to the other two villages along the roads connecting the three. The western village has also begun experimentation on domesticating different types of plants, such as fruits and vegetables. It is difficult work, but many choose it for its relative solitude.

The expansion of villages has also raised the critical question of how to conduct votes, as Ekatyrina usually does whenever a divisive issue comes up. A messenger could count opinions and remember them while taking them back to Lunysvet, but this would be unreliable and the messenger could decide to change his message for his own benefit. As a result, the two villages have taken to hammering stone to leave indentations indicating the number of votes for each idea, but these are extraordinarily heavy and require several Cindorayi to carry.

Time in this RP is a strange animal. It's really just whatever time of day or season that it needs to be in the post. In cases of player interaction, whoever states the time of day, season etc first would, I figure, establish it for that period.

Posts in this RP should logically span years, so the above would be best.

I plan to post tomorrow morning at noonish.
@Neruu I am interested in how our two spieces will interact. I could see either war, or a strong relationship. I know trade isn't exactly for the Alvith but they could become stronger with the weapons of the Snow Brutes, while the Brutes could learn how to herd Jeks from the Alvith. War would be interesting too. Your species are better physically, and faster. But the Snow Brutes are more advanced in weapons and tactics. Your Alvith fight for strength while my Brutes fight for glory. When our two metaphorical worlds meet it should be interesting to see pan out.

Speaking of, the Snow Brutes are soon going to meet their first sentient life forms other than themselves.

How glorious. Let me get off a post first.
Scientific and Industrious. The Cindorayi primarily want to hold their ground, and to develop science and their knowledge of the world, but they will retaliate with great tenacity and inventiveness if threatened.

Seafaring is also important, but less so than the other two.

Okay. I thought it might've been a little high, but I tried to combat that with having it be somewhat of a problem

It's a problem, sure, but it's a problem that has your species expanding outward to conquer more land, which makes it a problem for everyone surrounding you, namely me and Urcica.
I joined the diplomacy game as France.

Maybe, just maybe, I might do the election post.
