The waves brushed the shoreline in a tender caress. Bugs began to hum and flitter as the day drew to a close. An amber skyline shone down on the smooth sands as the gentle sound of breaking surf filled the air with a serene, peaceful, quality. All of this was registered in a half-submerged world, shared with the vibrations from below, as liquid filled her pale ears. The woman lay there like some poor victim of a far-off sea-wreck who had floated to shore. Her tattered white dress fanned out around her slender form, as did her dark-red hair. Certainly she was as pale as the dead, and her face was filled with a certain sadness that marred otherwise beautiful features. She bobbed delicately a short distance from solid earth, completely alone in her watery home. The day was like many others, spent in mourning over the woes of her past. Her name is Anna, and she is dead.

Unfortunately death means little to a Wraith. Very much aware of her surroundings, and capable still of locomotion, she started as a new sound flittered to her on the soft breeze. As perhaps one who has spent a day with nothing but the external stimuli around them may attest, any new sound is immediately noticeable. The brain hungers for more stimuli to relieve boredom. Perhaps that is what drew her to the sound, and allowed her to drive up the motivation to see what was causing it. Slowly, she rose and slipped half beneath the waves, allowing herself to gaze across the beach before her.
@MelonHead

I think there should just be a natural flow, it makes sense for you to post now if you wish.

I'll consider having a WIP pirate pad, not to make posts but to feed each other information during rounds?

Might be a good idea, I've always wondered if having something like a 'include this event' in your next post option would be cool. For example, rather than me making a whole post for a small detail, the next person to post can comment that Bakk drops his hand (or carries out some other small action I specify) to make the scene flow better.
Do we have any sort of posting order? It would be kind of strange to leave Bakk in limbo about to throw someone off the boat until after an exposition post (and however many other posts we get from the current silent people)

I'm getting her there. Mainly I'm trying to work over some paranoia issues about making her too strong or too weak. >,< I swear, she's coming along slowly! *head smacks on desk*

I wouldn't worry about making a character too weak, I'm not sure it's within any Arena-goers capacity.

@MelonHead No idea. I PMED him but then he vanished again.

I was gonna just make a quick wrap up post of the events that would have taken place. But I can't do that without his consent.

Bloody Rilla.

Well, try not to forget about our fight at least, it would be a shame to spend that much time building up to the conflict for naught. I suspect it could very well end with a single charge, one way or another.
Could be better, could be worse.

Thinking of picking this back up? I thought it was a shame to see it go when it had so much potential.
@Melonhead might get it, if he thinks about it. xD

Might? Are you guys planning to finish this?
Once you let me know you're happy with it I'll make the first post (unless you particularly want to do it.)

As a learning experience it won't be necessarily all that useful though, as Anna doesn't really carry any equipment.
The battle is between Anna and Joel, both masters of their own element, confronting each other over the latter's right to cross Anna's beach.

The scene is a simple shore-line with a soft incoming tide in the waning hours of a long summer's day. The sand is wet and solid underfoot until one reaches softer dry sand and scrub, before the beach finally gives way to forest. As the contest is over Joel's decision to walk across Anna's beach, either side retreating from the beach-front admits defeat. Therefore, fleeing to deep sea or the forested region is forfeit for either character, as death is unlikely on either side.

People use the word Emet to describe outsiders in my current locale, pretty funny.

Anyway, that character is more than suitable, I'll set up a thread and send you a PM of it.
