Anemia sucks. I feel like there's an invisible vampire sucking my energy through a straw.

Looking forward to it, Zealous! So sorry about that -- I guess there hasn't been much of the cute and cuddly so far. ;)

RED TEAM you have a new post. GO GO GO!

Simon said " Excuse me ... Miss Yurei, do you know how we can get back to safe civilization. I am not completely fond being in the middle
of a forest not knowing which way to get out of here"

The woman burst out laughing even before the young man could finish speaking. She smacked a knee, bent over, had trouble breathing. Finally, after a good bout of chortling, she straightened and wiped tears from her dull eyes. "Oh -- safe civilization! You're a riot, my boy!" She chuckled and shook her head -- but when she lifted her head again, she didn't sense the joviality she expected. Her eyebrows crinkled. This boy didn't seem to get his own joke. Was he serious?

"What is your name, boy?" She squinted at all those present and turned her ear to each in turn -- and her focus rested on the girl in the back. "And you, Miss --" she waved an impatient hand. "You're not Miss Rine, are you? None of you are with the Rebel Sanctuary, are you? I --"

A sudden realization dawned on her, and her blind eyes widened like saucers. Her hands began to tremble. She steadied herself, and she cleared her throat.

"You're . . . new here, aren't you?" She paused for a long while, shifting back and forth on her heels. Finally she screwed up her face and turned around, gesturing violently with a hand. "Come with me. Especially you, boy. And the girl!" Without turning around she pointed at Simon and Annabel, and she shuffled off toward the edge of the woods. "Come, come, hurry up! You're probably confused little muffins with no idea where you are, aren't you, but you'd best hurry up before the blood-rats get you, too."

Indeed, there was rustling in the weeds -- and the trees themselves creaked in threat.
"Oh, now he's int'rested in openings!" crooked-nose crowed, waving his coffee cup. "Now that he's insulted us and the captain." Not at all mentioning that he, himself, had insulted the captain not long ago.

Baldie only maintained his patient smile. "Well, sure there are openings. The captain only recruits the best, which means to say that only the best get recruited. There aren't many to begin with who'll meet his standards, and even fewer who are willing to spend years of their lives on a ship bound for the unknown."

"To discover the edge of the world and live to tell the tale," crooked-nose sang. It wasn't quite clear what was mixed in with his coffee.

Baldie's smile grew just a bit smug. "So if you think you're good enough to sail on the Annabella, you'll have to pass the captain's test."

"The hat trick!" shouted crooked-nose with a crooked grin.

"Quite so," Baldie went on. "You'll have to first find the captain, and then knock his hat off his head." Crooked-nose illustrated by flicking a finger over his own scalp. "Only then will he consider you for his crew."

"Pure and simple," crooked-nose agreed. He toasted the dusty, barefoot kid and tipped the rest of his coffee down the hatch.
Yes and no. For example, I had some friends who loved tabletop RP and LARPing; they tried to get me to stop RPing online because it was too solitary. I see their point, but they really just wanted me to drive 4 hours once a week to keep up a campaign. ;)

My brother knows but can't fathom why anyone would play a game without graphics. He thinks I'm medieval.

My mom thinks I'm collaboratively writing a novel with some other folks and is continually anticipating a publication. I allow her to continue believing this because it's funny.

Otherwise, I don't bring it up to anyone if they're not worth the explanation. Coworkers, acquaintances, anyone I'm not actively hanging out with generally won't be told unless I can be confident they'll know what I'm talking about. The worst reaction I've had is "you're wasting your writing," which is pretty mild, so I see no reason to be ashamed.

I think there might be more RPers if we all were more open about it IRL. Writers and artists, especially, might jump at the chance to breathe life into their original characters.

Hi red!! Glad to see you!

I'm brainstorming ways to get you and Tatsua moving in the plot. Don't lose hope!

I'm almost considering separate threads for each team. Does anyone have other ideas?

Is Arin with blue team right now? I have yet to catch up in the IC.

Right now, no -- whatever you do next I'll have to post for you to determine whether or not you're reunited with your prey-- uh, friends. ;)

Tatsua Aiisen said I'm a huge fan of this kind of roleplay, so I'll definitely be doing some of those things, if not at least one.

Looking forward to it! :D Gimme your best shot.

Thundercat said Hi guys. Sorry for being away for a while. Won't be able to post tonight so go on without me! I'll think of a way to keep Arin busy.

Hmm, ok then! I'll leave the door(s) open for your return!

LowKey123 said i'm exiting this rp yaay

Aww and Quin was awesome too! Thanks for letting us know. :)

Green team is going to have PTSD before they get out of the clearing, what with half their group getting ripped to shreds. (spoiler) >:D

Edit: LowKey what are you talking about? Be clear! XD

Edit 2: Blue team, feel free to take a breather IC. You're in a cave with a lake and fireflies, maybe some pale fish, but nothing serious. Feel free to converse among yourselves, or even take Hania's lead and have a nap. When your character makes an effort to move on I'll jump back in.

I knowwwwwwwIt just feels that way, and it makes things tough.

Hmmmm I see what you mean. Is there anything I can do to help?

Maybe instead of focusing on how you're left behind, your character can be the one to propel red team forward. Red team especially has rather been ignoring the environment, whereas Blue team has been actively interacting with what's around them -- that's really where the difference is.

So if Annabel so much as even touches a rune or the tree, or says something to the NPC, or touches the box or the rat, or interacts in any way with anything I've written, something will happen. It's entirely possible for Red team to move far ahead of Blue as far as plot's concerned.

God, I always have such a hard time posting once I've been left behind.

You haven't though! Pay no attention to blue team -- they have (almost) nothing to do with your RP. Only Red_massa has posted in your group since the mod post. You're not behind at all. Each team is going at a different pace.
