Anemia sucks. I feel like there's an invisible vampire sucking my energy through a straw.

@Archimedes SS? I'm not sure what that is. ^^;

Yeah, there are totally neutral Grit-types, just as much as there are neutral city folk.

Plural of Grit is Grit, yep! Because otherwise I think of fish 'n grits, which stinks up my coworker's cube every Thursday morning.

Characters can totally have vehicles!

Must. Soon. Before those creative juices die down! We sorta need to get started pronto.

I might write an opening scene tonight, maybe tomorrow!

Keep the ideas coming, guys. :)

Such heart! so emotion! <3

Is it my turn??????
I think for this particular round we'll stick with what we've got, then people might join up when it looks active again. x3 Let's maybe see what's next for our heroes!

Hahaha I appreciate it. xD <3

All this is just procrastination on a final plot decision, really. Everyone's got such good ideas and I wanna incorporate all of it all at once!

@OnlyThePie Oh, right! There are other civilized societies, yes. If your character would benefit from those being developed a bit, go for it -- but I feel like there's plenty to focus on already, haha!

There are quite a lot of PCs here right now, and there's one more on the way I think. The beginning of the RP might feel chaotic at first. There are a few points I feel I should make clear, in case anyone is unfamiliar with RPs of this size:

++ In the beginning of the RP, I probably will not mention every PC in every mod post, unless that PC says or does something that requires my attention. I actually would absolutely love to write a novel-length post every time giving every PC the attention they deserve, but I'm pretty sure that's a quick way to kill the RP. xD

++ If a PC interacts with a NPC or says or does something that requires a minor response from me, I'll make a quick response outside the story posts.

++ People will be dropping out, and the speed will slow down. I'm not looking at anyone in particular -- I adore every one of your characters and would love to have you stick around -- but experience has taught me that about 1/4 to half of all players who submit characters don't stick around past the first 2 weeks. It's just what always happens. That's why there's no cap on how many players I'll accept.

Because of this probability, in the beginning of the RP I'm not going to put too much pressure on individual characters, and I'll make sure the story can continue no matter who might end up leaving. I strongly suggest that you all try to do the same -- for the first few rounds, don't lock your character into an interaction that you can't get out of if the other player goes missing. Too many RPs lag because everyone is waiting on everyone else to post.

After 2-3 posting rounds, when we've secured a consistent and dedicated group of players, I'll start leaning the plot on your characters. ;)

. . . Damn, I ramble a lot.

Some questions about Grits. I find them really interesting. They can use magic, you said. How though? Are Grits intelligent? Almost human-like in terms of intelligence? Also, how do Grits look like? I'm pretty sure it varies. You mentioned before they're human-like. How much human-like are they? Do they stand upright, straight, and walk on two legs? Can a Grit be mistaken for a person?

These questions actually made me rethink my assumptions! The grit vary widely, but essentially the difference between the Grit and animals is that the Grit are all unique. You won't find a group that all look the same, for example: family members look nothing alike, and a brother and sister may resemble entirely different species. They can walk on two legs or five or none, they could be tiny or enormous. Their intelligence can be animalistic or very much human. Those who look and act the most like humans have naturally taken leadership roles. They're also the scariest to encounter precisely because they can pass for human, according to those who frequently travel outside the wall. Most common are the monkeylike ones that swarm merchants and steal their stuff.

@Eodwyn Aether that totally makes sense to me! Also worth considering is that since the city is confined to inside the wall, the only way to expand the city is to build vertically. So older buildings tend to be at the bottom. How high things are built probably depends on the district, but I'd assume the residential areas are the tallest.

Up for discussion of course! :D

Hiii! :D I think the four of us could continue pretty well, and others can still show up! Great to see you! Woo!

So do we have a volunteer to post first? XD

@Dud Like I said, this is brilliant. :D I vote that the plains, and the mirrors, and the huge screen in the middle of the city should be canon!
