Bio

5/2022: [Explicitive language] What I thought would be a week or two long phase of AFK-ness turned into two [almost three] months. Totally my bad for this happening. If you are reading this and have/had an RP going which still interests you, please let me know.

3/2022: Barely treading the waters of life right now - Replies will be much slower than usual. I'm extremely sorry and appreciate any patience and understanding offered from my RP Partners.

Welcome! I'm a girl who has been RPing and doing a lot of other nerdy things for 20 years. PM if you want to know even more!

I try not to just disappear but clearly have failed in this before. Real life gets the better of me and depression+diabetes+anxiety have a tendency to sap time away. Best way to reach me is Discord, touch base if you notice I haven't responded. I truly appreciate those who have helped keep me interested through OOC conversation!

I am also:
• Working Full-Time and struggling to maintain decent blood sugars
• Female, poly, demi/pan, and typically very difficult to offend
• A video gamer (primarily WoW, STO, ESO, Fallout4, 40k:Inquisitor - PC & XB1)
• A rennie (two guilds; First is Landscknecht group called Heiligensturm and the second is a Baroque French Privateer group called Clan Dark Sail)
• A Warhammer player/painter (gasp! 40k armies include Eldar/Ynnari and Thousand Sons::AoS Gloomspite Gitz *squee*)
• A seamstress (historical clothing and quilting primarily)
• A cook! Well, home cook. Recipes are more like guidelines anyways

Warlington is a small town nestled between flatlands ideal for farming and a rich woodland grove. Hundreds of miles away from other civilization, so remote there’s not even a Starbucks™. Along the main thoroughfare, one is able to get clear cell phone reception though wander any further away and that reception becomes spotty at best.

There is little known by the outside world about this town, it is not a tourist destination nor is it well known for any particular trade. Warlington is one of hundreds that contribute to the corporate wheel of commerce, providing a fraction of the grain stock required to be of any note. In fact most of the trade stays within the town, offered to the local bakery, the butcher, and the dairy shops first and foremost before being sent away.

Rosarina Loraven

Rosarina lifted her head as the wolf-man ran out from the tree line to shout at her, startling her horse and bringing her quickly to her feet. Before she could respond, he was gone again. The elf blinked, shaking her head a touch and turning her attentions to calming the animal mount she had brought along. A moment later an either rather short human or exceedingly tall dwarf arrived with a mule. Dwarf, she figured, based on his stature, his beard, and his accent. She offered a quiet shrug and soft roll of her eyes at his questioning of Zav's behavior as she hadn't a clue what the man had been on about. Before she knew it, he had returned. The others conversed and Rosarina kept herself quiet in observation.

So these were the others from that vision? She could not help but chuckle at them as the introductions were exchanged and the last of their party joined them. She agreed with Odran, it was quite a bit of chatter to be had in the early hours of the morning. She couldn't be quite forever, unfortunately. Rosarina pulled on her gloves, patted her horse's neck and raised a hand to offer a greeting wave to the others.

"Rosarina Loraven, though you can all call me Rosa if it is easier. I hail from Easthollow, a three day journey to the East on foot. Honestly, I did not think I would be here in time even with Kalondar's speed. I am a decently skilled tracker and hunter, better with my long sword than a bow however." the elf offered a weary smile. She was confident of her skill but not overly so. Her town was quaint and being the best there likely meant very little in the rest of the world. if the others wanted to know much more, they would have to ask.

Petragar Stoneweaver

Petragar gave a nod to the orc knight, offering her name as a brief introduction while they made their way to the high-end Gold Quarter. Another tall one, how fun, she thought to herself as they travelled. At least this one looked like he could handle himself in a fight. The Gold Quarter was not an unfamiliar place to her, though to walk the streets freely was. It had been a few decades since last she had been brought to these parts of the city on work of a drastically different kind. She swallowed a breath and pushed away the memories threatening to rise at the back of her mind. She wasn't that dwarf anymore.

Moving through Aelrod's estate, the dark dwarf kept her eyes peeled for ease of access, any side paths or routes one such as herself might be able to take to get around without detection. More information would surely help, though her best input would come when they got to the actual location of the kidnapping. Here, where there would be no tracks to trace or physical leads to follow, she would be of less use. Thus, she stayed back and observed.

The presence of a dark elf did not escape her and it took much control not to flinch as the other dark skinned being neared. Some past traumas were not as easy to get over as others. Once more shaking her head to chase away such thoughts, she arched a heavy brow at the mention of Helmlenfall. What little she knew of the dwarven fortress was that they were no strangers to trading outside their own walls. Perhaps it was the content of what Aelrod was trading? Textiles were not too rare a trade so why would anyone in Helmlenfall care so greatly? Her curiosity had been perked.

Petra had remained further back, leaning against the wall beside the entry of the room. Her eyes tried to keep up with the fluttering pages of the pink-haired elf's magical books and quickly decided this was a bad idea. Her head ached a little after only a few seconds and she took the time rather to case the room.
"Could we see the contract? It may provide further insight as to whom would take such issue with textile trades, or at least to why."
@Moonshadow
thanks

No problem, I'm really inspired and excited for this RP. :)

I'll take up co-gm role if still open. I can do an initial IC post done for setting up once all characters are ready to go. When I get to a real PC I'll PM you with google doc or rough draft, if you'd like, @VampireTwilight
For the 1yr thing because creature get hungry and angry if you don't feed him. Such a child lol

Maybe they tried once and things started going just a bit wrong. A farm field went dry, livestock suspiciously dying, appliances breaking for no apparent reason. Nothing massive but enough to remind the town that displeasing their supernatural forest dweller was not wise.
For anyone who hasn't grown up in a small town, it is hard af to get out. Some people can, through pure determination or the more unlikely happenstance of a sports scholarship. Most just take up a similar occupation as their parents.

My understanding of this town is that it is remote and isolated. Mail and restock for 'major' stores only once or twicd a week sort of deal. Vast agricultural area ideal for farming which is why it was first settled. On the otherside of town are the woodlands, which are rumored to be haunted and where the creature lives. No one ventures into those woods.

Families here are mainly farmers, livestock tenders, or shopkeeps. They export more than they import though first round of goods of the land are for the town. Small off-brand named shops and grocery store, no starbucks. Only one bed/breakfast like inn since no one stays here unless it's by mistake.

Only in recent years, as the new generation starts to more thoroughly get away do the rumors of the creature make it to the outside world. Most don't believe the tales but the town has seen a slow uptick in traveler's.

Think Sleepy Hallow brought to modern era. Or at least, that's how I viewed it when reading VampireTwilight's 1st post.

Sorry if that's overstepping.. my mind and fingers started typing and well, there's my thoughts on it
I'll get a post up tomorrow, without a keyboard typing out a proper post is impossible.
Sunukkuhkau :: The Creature

Appearance: The tales passed down through the generations of the town say that he is a massive beastly figure with an animal skull head and otherwise dark figure. Some legends say it is long and lanky, like a skeleton with fine black leather pulled tight around the bones in only a few places. Other legends tell of its massive size and flowing robes dark as a starless night sky. What they truly looks like, no one knows for sure.
Age: Centuries
Species: Unseelie Fae: Wendigo
Bio: Born to this land, the Creature has always been possessive. Nothing can suffice its unending hunger for more; more food, more land, more of everything. Humans have tried to cultivate their lands before and it has crushed them all. The Natives came to call it, Sunukkuhkau, roughly translating to "he who crushes." New humans came to the lands, following the same misfortune as all the others before them. Then, they offered up a sacrifice in exchange for permission to live and work the land. Accepting, the Creature took its prize and returned to the nearby woods.

Now, centuries later, this tradition continues yet the Creature grows weary and bored of the exchange; it is to be feared, not celebrated! What if it were not to take the intruder's sacrifice? What if it were to leave them be... what fun might that bring along?

Other: Abilities to be revealed during the story
  • Surrounded by darkness - can make it so the area is completely dark and nearly impossible to see
  • Shape changer - can take on a mock for of a human, either male or female.
