I'm guessing should there be competing applications we'd revert back to the old sample post method? It seems odd not to have seen the competing takes on a character in such an instance.
Just a last check as to whether anyone wants to play Hal, Kyle, Guy, or John? Because in such an instance I'll probably stick a competing Captain America CS up and if not I'll stick with Carol, but I don't want to squat on a second choice character if doing so will put somebody else out.

There had been a lot of things Bucky had been forced to get used to after they'd restored his memories. TVs with a thousand different channels showing everything you could ever imagine, the internet, phones that could take pictures and videos, even that Netflix thing that Natasha was so hot on. A talking duck certainly took the biscuit. Still, the so-called Star Lord's point resonated around Bucky's head as the farce unfolded.

Whoever had sent Quill had chosen, not Steve, and that fact weighed heavily on his mind.

"There must be some kind of mistake," Bucky whispered to himself with a shake of his head. "Why me? Not him?"

His thoughts went to Natasha sat outside waiting for him, probably wondering where the hell he was, and Steve's memorial service tomorrow night. He'd told Natasha that nothing would stop him from going and he'd meant it but from the sounds of it the fate of the universe was on the line. Once upon a time Bucky would have said to hell with it and left it to someone else but he wasn't just Bucky anymore. He was more than that. He was Captain America.

With a nod, Bucky looked to Star Lord and the Duck and smiled. "You had better bring me back to this exact moment. I have somewhere I need to be tomorrow night. Oh, and we're going to have to pick up my shield and uniform. Something tells me where we're going a dinner jacket is not going to cut it."
I've been out for dinner.

How have you people managed to interrupt dinner for my character IC and my real life dinner? Did you plan this?
Sounds to me like he'd have to talk to my co-GM who is playing Petey. But I have no idea how you could make that work at all given it's Spidey's first year...

Oh, I genuinely hadn't even noticed that had happened. -1 awareness from me.

I wanted to do some sort of Spider-Gwen situation, but it's clearly not in the cards just yet

Please do Spider-Gwen.
This is why I am busy writing a CS for the man who will be Carol's one true nemesis:

The Anarchistic Armless Tiger Man

I'm going to work Armless Tiger Man into at least one post. You have my word.
Personally I’m for making characters something radically that they weren’t (this is why I argued with Drew when he wanted to take Blade’s ethnicity away and make him white) though it wouldn’t be fair to enforce my personal misgivings on everyone else. I would trust you to make an interest story out of it, even though I prefer my Carol with legs and all of the uber-Marvel connections and references.

Curious if Carol was in the runnings to join SHIELD’s Blackhawks before her accident in your version. Hm.

I wrote a Matt Murdock that wasn't blind for two thirds of my run over on the Hype that was passably believable. What are a few legs compared to that?
I remember when Eddie did Carol Danvers as a Green Lantern when I was running Iron Lantern in a SU game; it’s a great character and certainly works fundamentally. Though it does kind of leave the Ms Marvel legacy in questionable territory but that’s just me thinking out loud. I’m curious why you went with the handicapping injury as well as far as I recall that this would be a new dynamic for the character- I am not against it though if my curiosity makes it seem like such. This seems like an interesting take, though I find the “I’m not going to mention much about the other lantern corps” a bit odd, but I understand not wanting to be boxed in.

I think I would want (not demand) a Carol Danvers player to incorporate some Captain Marvel dynamics in the lore somewhere though (like when Eddie made Green Lanter Mar-Vell crash on Earth or when @Bounce fused Shazam and Captain Marvel lore together).

I was in an explorative mood. I've never written a differently abled character before and it occurred to me that they are criminally underrepresented and in those instances in which they are present are overwhelmingly male. I thought it would be an interesting challenge to write a female character that has dealt with (and continues to deal with) being differently abled because it's something that's not often explored. The impact it has on how a woman sees herself and her femininity in light of that are all pretty interesting. At least I think so.

If you'd prefer I could make it Mar-Vell that crashed to Earth as Eddie did, as opposed to Abin Sur, because I can't imagine I'll touch on the Captain Marvel side of things much elsewhere.
The one time I consider playing Carol...

I'm not enamoured with playing her, in truth I wanted to play Cap but I don't want to play him in two games, so if you really fancy a shot at Carol I can as easily come up with something else. I mean that too, that's not an empty gesture.
