The IC has become quiet, too quiet. Someone should post. Why has no one posted? Post!

That awesome feel when I am immune to the guilt-tripping. Woot.
I'm doing alright. Hoping things pick up over in beacon soon, though
I'd also like to express interest, even if it ends with me on a waiting list. Very few RP's on this site have been interesting to me lately, so finding one that does is a godsend. Even if I have to wait, I'd love to give this a shot.
So, there's a weapons upgrade in Oswald's near future. Mwahahahaaahaaaaaa. It shall be GLORIOUS. BOW TO THE TWISTY SWORD OF DOOOOOOOM!!!!
Oswald Connolly- Survival

Oswald's head was still buzzing from the effects of the sound grenade, he noticed that they were, as a matter of fact, not in the clear from here on out. The Itzamnas and Salamanders had managed to catch up, but he was at least able to make out what the Professor was saying. The anomalies were one-way, explaining why they had to go to such lengths in order to make their way back. As the class found itself dealing with raptors, lizards, and now flying feminine Grimm, Oswald carefully retrieved a greenish-yellow dust crystal from his pouch and loaded it into the base of his sword.

As a Harpy rapidly made its way towards the armored, now-cloakless young man, Oswald raised his blade, lining it up with the Grimm before pulling the trigger on his sword. After a moment, a beam of electrical energy burst from his blade, piercing the Harpy through and through and causing it to fall to the ground, its muscles paralyzed by the powerful electrical blast. Chuckling, Oswald turned to aim at another Harpy, repeating the process, with the most recent victim crashing into a Salamander, which reacted by coating it in a powerful burst of acid. His chuckle turning into a full-fledged, sadistic laugh, Oswald frowned as another aerial Grimm saw fit to interrupt his reveling by attempting to claw his face open.

Carefully turning to his opponent, the swordsman slashed his blade across his body, aimed up at the Harpy, only for the monster to flap its wings powerfully, pushing it out of the way of his blade. Letting out a groan, Oswald moved his eyes when he heard the familiar sound of someone travelling through one of the anomalies. As Gren passed him using his weapon as a propeller, Oswald nodded at his classmate before sheathing his own weapon and taking a careful grip of his own washer. A short while after Gren disappeared, it was Oswald's turn to teleport, and he tossed the washer in, following after it a moment later.

When he found himself surrounded by water, Oswald reached out quickly, grabbing hold of something solid and using it to surface himself. A moment later, the swordsman realized that the anomaly had deposited him in Beacon's fountain, and let out a hearty laugh as he pulled himself from the water. "Well that was fun, right guys?" Letting a smile cross his features, Oswald laughed again. "If that's any indication of what this is gonna be like, I'm looking forward to the rest of the year!"
Oswald Connolly is a fairly typical Rushdown fighter. Focusing on damage above all else, each of Oswald's strikes is near-guaranteed to wipe off at least 10% of his enemy's aura. He has moderate reach with his sword, but other than his Level 2 Super, he lacks any form of ranged attack. His attacks are difficult to combo due to their low speed, but a successful combo can turn the tide of battle easily.

As a heavy-hitting melee fighter, Oswald lacks speed and versatility, but the slightly extended range of his sword attacks is perfect for discouraging the hit-and-run tactics of the lighter, speedier Rushdowns. Grapplers should be kept at the edge of your attack range, but Zoners are likely to give inexperienced Oswald users a run for their money.

Oswald's greatest feature, however, is his Semblance, which can use small portions of his super meter to teleport towards or away from the enemy. In the hands of an experienced fighter, Oswald can effortlessly dodge a long-range attack, or move instantaneously across the battlefield to deliver a strike when his opponent would normally be safe from his sword.

In addition to the slow, powerful strikes from his sword, Oswald is capable of using his shield to deal minor knockback to his opponents, but with minimal damage. Followed up with a sword attack, an experienced Oswald user can make mincemeat of characters that rely on quick melee combos by combo-breaking with the relatively fast shield strike.

Level 1 Super: What shield?- A single two-handed strike that deals a rather heavy amount of damage to his opponent. Faster characters will likely have little trouble dodging this strike, but if it connects, pain is all but assured.

Level 2 Super: Closer- Oswald uses his Semblance to teleport in front of his enemy, unleashing a devastating two-handed downward strike that deals severe damage. This attack can only be dodged or partially blocked, as Oswald's semblance grants him effectively unlimited range for this single strike.

Level 3 Super: Impalement- Oswald grabs his opponent with his shield hand, driving his sword into his opponent's chest before pulling himself away, dealing a massive amount of damage. Easy to dodge if it is expected, but blocking will do little to protect you from a sword through the chest.

Instinct Mode: Storm of Steel- Oswald's pupils dilate, completely obscuring his irises, as his conscious mind transfers control over to his primal instincts. As per his namesake, Oswald becomes a storm of steel, focusing all of his energy on offense, attacking with shield and sword. Each attack comes faster, with no penalty to attack, and combos are easier to achieve. As a minor trade-off, Oswald cannot block in this mode, making him vulnerable to ranged attacks.

Fatality: Oswald uses his Semblance to appear inside of his opponent, scattering the enemy into bloody, gory bits as his own aura protects him from the dangerous effects of violating the laws of physics. Of course, with his opponent's aura totally drained...they stand no chance of survival.
Well, that was like a month and a bit late.

I blame the twenty-plus RWBY fanfictions I've been reading.

Help me.
As the battle raged, Gaios slowly moved forward while his father pressed the attack. Each second, he fired more stone disks at Onyx's joints, and though they did little on their own, the sheer volume of attack was slowly chipping at their opponent's defenses. Demoko had pulled a risky tactic by grabbing Onyx and electrocuting him, but Link took advantage of the opportunity as he'd been quite recently, calling out to several members of their crew to attack.

Following his part of the plan, Sophos closed his eyes and saw the metaphorical threads that comprised the world around them. Tapping into the latent power in the universe, he warped the space around Onyx's head as Link's arrow hit true, causing a large crack to appear in their enemy's helmet. It wasn't enough to defeat him outright, but it was a weak point they could exploit.

As Link's bolt cracked Onyx's helmet, Gaios decided to focus his attacks on that structural weakness. Instead of a steady flow of seemingly randomly targeted stone disks, however, Gaios focused and drew forth several spears made of earth, dropping them at his side. Grabbing a few in his off-hand, the armored man took one and aimed at the hulking monster that was the enemy. Throwing with all his might, Gaios subtly manipulated the stone missile to Onyx's helmet, where it shattered an inch from impact, Onyx having maintained enough concentration to prevent such a haphazard attack.

Cursing, Gaios tried to think of another plan, then sighed and shrugged. It would have to do. Forcing all of the other spears into one, he used as much power as he safely could guiding the projectile at General Onyx, forcing him into a stalemate situation. Even if his opponent was more powerful by several orders of magnitude, between everybody else involved in the battle, Gaios could at least keep him occupied while the others continued their battle plans.
Oswald Connoly- Survival

As Oswald and Abel fought off the Itzamna, they found assistance in the form of their fellow classmates. Daniel easily eliminated an Itzamna that attempted to sneak up on Oswald during his own battle, before running off and calling that Oswald owed him one.

Meanwhile, Jack the speedster was making his way between Itzamna, tearing through the raptors like a hot knife through butter. It would be a lie for Oswald to say he wasn't impressed; to make such effective use of a Semblance like that must have required quite a bit of training. Learning how to focus while moving so fast was a hell of a feat.

While the students fought to eliminate the Grimm surrounding them, their professor called out for them all to cover their ears, before throwing a grenade into the air. Oswald barely managed to do so, but his broken wrist had led him to inadequately protect his left ear, which was left ringing tremendously. Dizzied by the sound blast, Oswald clumsily took off after Vorosky, deciding that in his current state, he would be less useful than a wet towel if he tried to do anything more than escape with his giblets intact.

After they reached the riverbed, Oswald could barely hear what Vorosky was saying. He noticed the washers the professor had thrown on the ground and grabbed one, following after Abel in hopes that it would be enough to show him what he had to do. As his classmate grabbed a pallet and got on board, Oswald did the same, floating a few meters upriver from his ally. Hopefully they were in the clear from here on out.
Oswald Connoly- Survival

As more Itzamna came out, Oswald realized that he wouldn't be able to keep up with the others, only having one usable arm and two weapons to wield with it. He could try to fight with one arm, but against more than three or four enemies, he'd be overwhelmed after even the smallest mistake. Deciding to move to the rest of the students, he narrowed his eyes and watched as the others cooperated. Goodwitch's assistant managed to save one of their classmates who was in a bind, Gren made a call out to everybody, alerting them to the presence of Salamanders in the area.

Cursing, Oswald nodded at Abel, who had appeared near him after having eliminated some Grimm. "Stick by me, if you would. Only using one arm has made me quite the easy target." As he spoke, a group of five Itzamna charged them, moving to surround the pair of boys in a pincer attack. "I'll take the left." Hoping that Abel could handle the larger share, Oswald turned to the pair closest to him, staring the creatures down.

Both advanced at once, trying to get him between the two, but Oswald teleported to the side of one and stabbed into its side, causing the raptor to leap away, wounded but still alive. Grunting, Oswald stepped out of the way of the other Grimm, which had used the distraction to make an attack. Oswald threw his cloak onto the Itzamna and stabbed straight through it, piercing the monster's shoulder, then turned his attention back to the first raptor, which was now stalking over towards him, even more angry. Repeating his original attack, Oswald teleported directly in front of the Grimm, stabbing upward into its throat.

Turning as one creature disappeared, Oswald smirked as he watched the second Itzamna free itself from his cloak and leap at him. A shoulder roll to the right, and he'd flanked the raptor, slashing downwards with his sword, slicing its tail free from its body. Now heavily wounded and bleeding, the Itzamna let out a guttural screech, causing some salamanders to make their way towards the pair. "Dammit, they're just gonna keep calling for the others! Abel, we need to find the rest of the students and form up!"
