Actually, it's not. It's the chronicling of quite possibly one of the most OP Dark Souls 2 builds. It's evil.

Like...you always are? Or...I'm confused.

Jakobe Russenfalt- Basilmeron Castle Courtyard

Chuckling as he shook the wyvern rider's offered hand, Jakobe gave Druug a good look. He wasn't particularly worried about the massive creature eating his horse, and each of the pair gave off that impression. "Jakobe, Cavalier. First time I ever saw a wyvern rider I damn near shat myself. And I'd say the same about riding those things. I feel quite comfortable on the ground, thank you. Even if I do get knocked off...it's a short fall." As Hugh approached, Jakobe gave a silent nod and looked at the convoy preparing itself. In reality, the group was rather small, especially considering their goal to investigate the war and the allegations of a shadowy third faction.

As long as they managed to avoid the bulk of any armies coming their way, however, he was confident they'd not face much serious trouble. For Kel and Jakobe, that was an easy task, but the others would have quite the time trying to evade their enemies. Hugh mentioning the possibility of him taking up a mount as well made Jakobe hum in satisfaction. "It's quite the feat, to fight from atop a companion. I've no experience with wyverns, but as our friend here says, it looks to be quite the experience. I'll have to make sure to do it sometime, even if it's not in combat." Nodding to the two, he got back on top of Thunderclap and made his way towards the rest of the Reclaimers, again giving the group a look over, before riding over to the convoy and coming to a stop.

As he had all of his necessary belongings on himself or Thunderclap, the pair was already prepared for the go-ahead. Rubbing his steed's neck, Jakobe took a deep breath to try and calm his nerves. This was it.

Appearing from the stables astride his war horse, Jakobe took a look at everybody else gathered. There had been a few new additions from his memory, and he decided to acquaint himself with the most abundantly obvious one- the wyvern rider basking in the sunlight, watching the others. Actually, it seemed that the rider was particularly interested in one person- the dark mage Nickolas, the one from the north. What about Nickolas was intriguing this other rider wasn't evident to Jakobe, but he didn't let that stop his approach. As he neared the man, Jakobe carefully dismounted his horse, waving his arm to tell his partner to follow.

"Now that is a hell of a wyvern you've got there. I was never a flier myself, prefer to keep my feet on the ground. Can see the appeal, though. Man wasn't born to fly, but with a Pegasus or a wyvern you can near touch the clouds." As he came within a dozen or so feet, the pair stopped, Jakobe's hand coming to rest on his stallion's neck. "Got a name? My guy here's called Thunderclap."

I'll ask the offending party to wrap it up before I fail them.

I mean, we're trying, but with losing our original antagonist (at least I think we did) and taking a while to even start and Lucius posting infrequently (partially because he has three missions to deal with, which I understand is a lot) it's been slow going
Ah. Right. Hmmm. Well, Jakobe told Hugh he'd need someone else to help with the rest of the horses. Maybe that could work? If not, I can just edit that bit out. I'm sure I can come up with something else to do with Jakobe atm
Jakobe Russenfalt- Basilmeron Castle Stables

Carefully brushing down his horse after the captain called a meet-and-greet, Jakobe ran over a mental checklist of the others in his head. While they had been, and admittedly still were, a bit heavy on mages, the group turned out to be a relatively well-rounded force. The only thing they were really lacking in was mounted fighters and kindred shapechangers. A few of the recruits were probably a bit young to fight in a war, but he wasn't in charge of this thing, so Jakobe was willing to defer to the captain's judgment.

Normally, he'd have helped when Hugh called for it, but his own steed needed careful tending to. Poor guy was still nervous about the change of scenery, and the ensuing journey. It wasn't often that Jakobe loaded him up with as much equipment as he had.

Sometimes he could swear that his horse was more intelligent than some of the people they'd met, but it was more likely that it could just tell how stressed everybody was feeling, as well. Going off to fight, to possibly kill and possibly die, was not a pleasant feeling for anybody, and he could feel the tension in the air.
