Plate idea got scrapped for basically that reason. But he does wear canvas and some guards because sometimes Aura won't save you when there's a dozen Grimm on your back. The quarter-inch might not be much, but it's better than a freaking combat skirt.

And yes, you're probably right that he'll need a bit more mobility. I am currently working on this due to the revelation of what he's like.

I may go back to the 220 because while that was not necessarily what I originally hoped for, it may have been the best level.

Oswald is not a competition fighter. He's a meatshield and Grimm slayer. He's actually quite bad at fighting people who he can't overwhelm easily with pure force.

That is, most people in Beacon because YOU'RE ALMOST ALL DEX-BASED ELF CHARACTERS TO MY PLATEMAIL-WEARING DWARF WITH 25 MOVE SPEED. I AIN'T GOT SHIT ON YOU AND IT'S DUE TO MY OWN POOR OPTIMIZATIONS.

But 270 may have been overzealous as well. Hmm.

He's actually quite a bit lighter than record-breaking strongmen, and those guys are smaller than my brother at like 270 (but he's just...well, really fat). Those guys easily top 300, even at or around that height. Eddie Hall, world record holding deadlifter, is 5 inches taller and a hundred and nine pounds heavier. Dude deadlifted 1,020 pounds. Might be juiced, but he's by no means actually obese. Maybe if you just take BMI, but BMI is absolutely worthless as more than a basic guideline. You need body fat % and other measurements to make a real assessment of someone's health level.

One brother is like 5'5" and 180, obese by BMI standards, but he has like a 32-inch waist. ALL muscle. He's built like a statue. The other I mentioned above is about 250-300 and it's NOT muscle...he's got a good ten inches at the waist on Hall.

I want to get Oswald a suit. It will be hilarious watching a teenager who has the physique of a professional strongman in an ill-fitted suit.

Also, it appears I miscalculated Oswald's appearance. He's supposed to be MUCH heavier than I originally put him. He's bearmode, basically. Got fat but a shitload of muscle under it.
