Dear Mr Curly,
I have done little travelling lately because I have been so dreadfully weary. Can it be true as the old Ecclesiastes said; that all things lead to weariness? Surely not. Perhaps the opposite is true: that all nothings lead to weariness. I have a peculiar feeling, Curly, that I am worn out from something I haven't yet done and the more I don't do it, the more exhausted I become. How strange. Could it be something I haven't realised? Perhaps it's something I haven't said? Something I haven't finished! It must be very large and true whatever it is and a lively struggle in the doing but I look forward to it immensely. I know I need it. First, however, I must curl up in my chair and sleep deeply with the duck. Perhaps I'll dream of this thing and wake up refreshed and do it. My fond wishes to you Mr. Curly, and to all Curly Flat.
Yours sleepily,
Vasco Pyjama

P.S. Not having breakfast can make you weary. That's for sure!

It's all good.
The rest of the packs poured in behind their vanguard. Fendros had acted similarly to Ahnasha beforehand, taking out his sword and shield and replacing his bow on his back. He had his shield up as he wheeled around the edge of the broken doorway and headed to cover the side of the room that Lorag and Ahnasha did not take. He had no enemies to deal with in that moment that weren't already being engaged.

With a quick command from Janius, Leaps was released from his leash and sprinted in behind Kaleeth faster than anyone else. His target was one of the enemies by the fireplace. In a few scrambling paces, Leaps was upon him, jumping up and forcing the enemy to the ground before he could fully rise from his seat. The other was engaged by Janius and Gallus, but there was time enough for that enemy to mount a defence. Like Fendros, Tzirret took a clear side of the room and found no one to harass with his spear, so he opted to wait by the staircase and fend off anyone coming up.

Sabine returned the smile, looking up to Peiter once more. "We should."

A full ten seconds of silence passed where Sabine simply stared at Peiter, trying to stay awake. In one last effort, she straightened her head slightly, but kept it forward such that her arm was obscuring her fading smile. It took a lot of bravery to speak again, "You know, you can...sit next to me whenever you want to. I don't mind."
Just about everyone glanced to one another and then shook their heads. Lorag's plan was all they needed; fast, effective, and shocking. Short of the flimsy looking cabin being reinforced with stone on the inside, there really wasn't much else to worry about as far as anyone could think. Only one detail got mentioned a moment later, by Gallus, "Excepting Kaleeth, obviously, let's refrain from transforming unless we have to. They might have that gas Meesei mentioned."

As was agreed upon, Ahnasha and Fendros made their approach first. They circled around the cabin such that they were approaching with the building between themselves and the fire. There was not much to be done about the detritus that carpeted the ground on their approach except to move as lightly as possible. The crackling of the fire ought to have covered the sound of their approach and the dark would obscure them from the sight of anyone looking through the windows. They agreed to pick a guard and count off to kill them at the same time.

Once they reached the cabin itself, Fendros leaned over to Ahnasha and spoke in scant whispers, slowly but clearly. "Shoot on ten. One...two...three...four..." Fendros stopped counting and started making his way around the left side of the cabin, crouching under the windows. At the pace that Fendros had been counting, he reached eight with an arrow nocked and was lining up a shot at his target from the corner of the cabin. By ten, he suspected that the count would have diverged a little, but not fast enough for the targets to react.

Ten. Fendros let loose his arrow into the back of his guard's neck. At this distance it was an easy shot.

Sabine shook her head again, this time speaking. "No," she said quietly. She didn't seem to notice that it was a repeated question.

Still looking at Peiter, Sabine dipped her head deep to one side such that her cheek was resting on her upper arm. "I..." Sabine looked at the ground, and then at the fire. Her voice lowered in volume even further. "I was not offended." In this light, it was hard to see Sabine's cheeks flaring red. She clarified after a small moment, "Back at the stream, before they came. You thought..." Sabine trailed off, she didn't know where she was headed with her words.
I have to go do some Christmas shopping before work, so I'll be leaving in about half an hour.
At the smallest, Fendros was expecting an outpost of similar size to the one they had set fire to earlier in the day. At the largest, some kind of fort. This little cabin seemed surprisingly low-key, but he soon worked out that its hidden position was probably the point. Janius wasn't sure what to expect, but even he was a little surprised.

"It's getting quite dark now," Gallus whispered to Lorag, "We could use the cabin itself as cover to sneak up behind the sentries and dispatch them simultaneously. If we're lucky, we'll be able to get them before they raise the alarm." Gallus nodded towards the cabin itself, "I don't know what to expect from inside, though. As long as they don't barricade the door..." Gallus trailed off and shrugged, waiting to hear Lorag's plan.

"How about taking a hostage to get inside?" Fendros asked.

Gallus shook his head, "No, then it would be a stand-off."

Sabine looked down at Peiter's meal and considered for a moment. She might have felt hungry, but with all that had been going on, her stomach was not feeling fit for eating anything. She closed her eyes and shook her head. When she opened her eyes, she kept her eyes on Peiter and wrapped her arms around her knees.
Gallus was more than happy to drop his share of the supplies and get ready to go. "This'll work, you'll be the boss, Lorag," he said with a smile, leaning one hand on the hammer on his belt. The next order of business was their guide. Gallus turned to Sees-No-Colours, "Now, Colours, can you fight? If not, you can head back here after you lead us to your pride's prison."

By the time they had settled into their new camp, the heavier of Sabine's emotions also settled and been replaced by fatigue completely. She did not protest at the offer to rest rather than join the attackers, as she might have done normally. Indeed, as soon as she laid out her bedroll, she sat down upon it and struggled to stay awake. She kept giving glances to Peiter as if conflicted.

"Alright, Leaps, lets see how you do with those new tricks I taught you," Janius looped a harness around Leaps-On-Elves in preparation for the attack. He would hold the creature by his leash for the moment, but Janius had no doubt that he would be an asset. Ever since his help on the lake with the bandits north of the Imperial City, Janius had been training him with commands to use in combat and hunting. This would be the first fight in which they would be used.
I'm not sure how I feel about your situation. I'm going to go with optimistic. What's the encryption method?

Anyway, you may set up where the new camp site is in the next post and select who is going to be in the rescue party. I'm not sure how many scenes you'd like to set up before they leave.
Sabine, with her eyes closed, felt the platform halt, forcing her to step to keep balance. Fendros' voice sounded from next to them, "Come now, we'll get you to the others." Sabine opened her eyes and raised her head to see Fendros holding his hand out to help them. It was only then that she slid her arms away from Peiter and helped him to Meesei and Irenya.

"Alright, I'll gather everyone up," Gallus said, finally letting go of the knife up his sleeve and turning to inform the others. Before he left the building, he halted and looked over his shoulder, "If there are any more of those bags around that Ra'maranja's pack brought, we might put them to use on the supply building once we're done." He grinned, "Just a suggestion."

It took about an hour to consolidate all the information they had and gather supplies, including gathering up the bodies of the hunters. The slow speed of the lift platform for anything heavy was the bottleneck in the operation, but thankfully its use was mostly restricted to lowering the wounded and the children.

Following the ideas from their attackers, the packs left a bag of the flammable substance in the supply building on their way out. A well placed fireball lobbed into the door had all the supplies they left behind go up in flames. Fendros was holding Rhazii at the time and was sure to keep his eyes averted.
Alright, good. Otherwise Janius may not have been as brave stalking the hunting party.
Oh. Did they all have the werewolf scent or just the leader?
