Dear Mr Curly,
I have done little travelling lately because I have been so dreadfully weary. Can it be true as the old Ecclesiastes said; that all things lead to weariness? Surely not. Perhaps the opposite is true: that all nothings lead to weariness. I have a peculiar feeling, Curly, that I am worn out from something I haven't yet done and the more I don't do it, the more exhausted I become. How strange. Could it be something I haven't realised? Perhaps it's something I haven't said? Something I haven't finished! It must be very large and true whatever it is and a lively struggle in the doing but I look forward to it immensely. I know I need it. First, however, I must curl up in my chair and sleep deeply with the duck. Perhaps I'll dream of this thing and wake up refreshed and do it. My fond wishes to you Mr. Curly, and to all Curly Flat.
Yours sleepily,
Vasco Pyjama

P.S. Not having breakfast can make you weary. That's for sure!

Fendros kicked up divots in the dirt as he sprinted after Ahnasha. He accepted her challenge wholeheartedly and held nothing back as he ran on all fours through the foliage and around the trunks of the mushrooms trees. As Ahnasha ducked and weaved her way between the obstacles in front of her, Fendros made an attempt to mimic her movements, to varying success. He felt a sudden recollection of the last time they were in this situation. This time, however, they were in their beast forms, stopping would not probably not come so soon. He kept up the chase without stopping, his ears perked and adrenaline flowing.

Some trips and run ins had Fendros bruise himself on occasion, but that didn't stop him, especially as they nicks and bruises healed away. It was a while, though, before he could close much distance between himself and Ahnasha. They came across a spot where there was something of a clear corridor of trees to run through and he was a thumbnail away from being able to jump and catch her. Just a bit further.
Fendros took another bite of his food as Ahnasha got up and left. His eyes tracked her on her way out and he started to wonder. He could trust her. He knew he could trust her. Swallowing and looking at the pendant from across the room, he sat still for long enough to fully convince himself that this whole venture was ultimately a good idea. Then, he got up, finished his meal, and stripped out of his clothing before heading outside with a walk.

When he reached the entrance of the cave and took in the warm, cloud-obscured afternoon light, he looked around and couldn't quite find Ahnasha. Did she run off and get a head start? Her smell was still in the vicinity. He looked up to the trees, then spotted a large shape in the corner of his eye above the cave mouth. There she was, Ahnasha in her beast form. Fendros smiled up at her, then bowed his head down and began to transform himself. The pain, the warping and the noise was something he was used to by now, but he still held his eyes shut until the transformation was done.

His breathing now deeper and his entire body abuzz, Fendros reopened his eyes and found his claws. All the smells were stronger now, all his senses heightened again. He craned his neck up to Ahnasha and felt a torrent of good feelings wash over his mind. It was like the love he had been feeling, but different. In her wolf form, where she stood, she suddenly seemed just as beautiful as ever. He didn't know that such a state of mind would carry over to his wolf form in that way, but perhaps his beast spirit and his emotions were more subtly conjoined than he thought.

Just as Ahnasha had promised, Fendros didn't feel a particular urge to feed, or even to kill. He was so lucid that he almost felt as if he could talk. Right now, though, he had a lot of energy to burn. Clambering up the rockface with probably less finesse than Ahnasha had displayed, Fendros clawed up to her and joined her. He stopped for a moment to nuzzle at the side of her face before leaping down and stopping to turn around. He was sprung to run, he really felt like running. He looked back at Ahnasha and emitted a muffled and impatient bark.
Fendros looked to the fire from where they were, still a little apprehensive. "You make a good point," He said, looking down at his food, "I don't know though..." he paused to think and took another mouthful. "I'm not sure if..." He said through a mouthful, trailing off to chew and swallow, "I'm not sure if I trust myself just yet." While he spoke Fendros thought of something. He looked to Ahnasha again, "I'll go, but Ahna, your beast form is still stronger than mine so... Please do not put yourself in danger, but... would you stop me if, you know, I attacked someone?" The concern on Fendros' face was genuine. As much as he tried to rationalise it and remind himself that the beast spirit was just an animal like any other, he still had a fear of losing control. It was a fear that would probably only be fixed by doing what Ahnasha was suggesting and just letting it run free for a bit, but still...
... Rena!... Who... Rena!... The hell... RENA!!! "Is yelling?" Sara was wrenched out of her consciousness. She sat up with clenched face and pushed a gloved hand against the side of her head. She slowly opened her eyes to a sight that made her heart sink. It was unfamiliar. A large hovering crystal of sorts was the only glowing source of light. Sara had never seen anything like it before. Around the entire room, there were other people, they were chained to the ground. Some were sleeping, some awake. How the hell did she get here?

Sara began to stand up and felt the weight of chains hanging off her wrists. She was shackled as well. Not good. Sara wasn't exactly at the point of panicking yet, but she did not like the situation one bit. She tried to remember what happened. She was on her way home after a busy day at Gamma. It was a bad day for the district in terms of crime, and those bad days had been increasing in frequency. Sara and the rest of the guard could hardly keep up. Then on the street it got foggy all of a sudden. But the fog was so thick, and breathing it in. "Was I hit with some kind of sleeping gas?" She muttered, "Maybe if..." Sara rifled through her pockets for her guard distress beacon. Gone. Same as most things; her dagger, her communicator... her halberd. "Oh, no, my halberd." She breathed. The severity of the situation was all too apparent in her mind now.

Another soul regained consciousness nearby Sara. It wasn't until he spoke that Sara was reminded who he was. That gunblade mercenary from Miris, the one that was hawking his services in the Beta market. At least it was a face Sara recognized. He was chained to a spot behind him, so she had to get his attention. "Hey," She said, "Hey gunblade, what is this place? What's going on?"
Alright. Sleep time. G'night!
Meesei's words included considerations that hadn't occurred to Fendros, but it was reassuring to hear that she would speculate further. If Hircine could give them clarification on the matter, it would make things much easier in the event that Mephala showed herself again. They were dismissed to their own devices then. It put Fendros on edge a little to hear that the raid was postponed, but if Meesei thought that it was for the best then Fendros would trust her.

As the enchanters went about their work again, Fendros stood for a moment and looked on. Ariel seemed to be quite shaken by hearing that a Breton might be the agent of vile that would try to trick them, knowing that suspicion would be directed toward herself. Sabine didn't seem phased, but she was Sabine. Not showing emotions was normal from her.

Quickly confounded by what they were doing to the thrall, Fendros moved on to their food stores to grab something to eat. He pulled out a strip of meat that probably used to be attached to the leg of a hunter. He bit at it raw. He didn't really feel like putting forth the effort to cook it this time. The raw meat was a taste he hadn't quite acquired yet, but he could bear it. After swallowing the first bite, he wondered where Lorag and Janius were, but with Janius' shield not being present where it was normally kept, he assumed he was sparring, or simply being coached by Lorag somewhere. Before he took his second bite, his eyes caught Ahnasha's from across the room. Fendros walked up to her and sat next to her. "What are you thinking?" Fendros asked idly while leaning forward and looking at her face.
Hmm, seems good.

I'll have to try and think up an arc for Janius now. At least there'll be plenty of time.
Pffhahahah! No, not quite the east. I'm in the state of South Australia, which is south-central. At least you didn't guess Queensland.

Oh yeah, I've been meaning to inquire about your characters. From the start you had Meesei slated as your 'main' character, but Ahnasha's been getting a lot more attention and details lately as a consequence of the plot twist at the beginning. Now, that wasn't something that I had planned on, and I kind of feel bad if I was partly responsible for putting your main character on the sidelines. In light of that, do you feel as if your getting enough out of Meesei, or did you want to focus on her a bit more in the story?
As Fendros followed Ahnasha into the main chamber, his thoughts weren't immediately on removing his clothing as hers were, but he couldn't help but smile at remembering her previous comments as she threw the dress aside. A shame, for all its inconvenience, the dress was still a pretty one. He stopped himself from calling out a greeting to everyone else upon seeing Meesei concentrating on the thrall.

When Ahnasha began about the event in the temple and paused, Ariel spoke up before Fendros really got the hint to take over. She was still sitting by Sabine and Meesei by the thrall, trying to keep up with Meesei's inspection of the creature. "Mephala?" She said with a hint of disbelief as she looked up to them, "The daedric prince Mephala?"

"That's right," Fendros said with a serious tone, "I thought we could visit the new temple, just to see it, and... well, while we in front of the statues of the good daedra, the world seemed to... go quiet. It was like it had stopped and gone dark and no one was around." Fendros faced Meesei while he explained, but avoided eye contact. "One of the priests appeared in a strange manner, he talked with a sort of loud whisper. Blank faced. Afterwards he seemed normal and greeted us as if he hadn't seen us before. I think he might have been possessed." Fendros was trying to recall the memory beyond the dread that it had left them with, and even explaining it made him look nervous.

"What did she say?" Ariel asked, obviously concerned at their meeting with an arguably very dangerous being.

"The priest- Mephala, recognised us as lycans. We didn't know that he was Mephala at the time. He- she was quick to give us a warning; something along the lines of not accepting Clavicus Vile's offer of immortality. I asked who she was, she just said that she wanted revenge on Vile for something." He forced a breath before continuing, "Ahnasha said that we would be fools to accept such an offer anyway, and rightly, then Mephala replied that it would be more subtle than that. The only other detail we were able to get about the offer was that a Breton would deliver it. It was too well placed to be anything but sowing distrust. Thus, that's when I knew that it was Mephala, and I said as much." Ariel looked to Meesei for a moment, then back to Fendros as he continued. "She seemed to indicate that I was right, then said that we could have one more question answered. We didn't want to ask anything else. Knowing her, it would only have made things worse. After that, the world returned to normal and so did the priest." Fendros itched his head, "It was... not comfortable."
Southeast? Man, I was way off. Oh well.
