The twelve hour slipspace jump had gone by very quickly she was in the shooting range of the Blade's Edge using her sniper rifle due to her skill as a marksman. Then she heard a message over her coms, setting the sniper rifle into a nearby weapons rack Vanessa quickly started making her way towards the bridge. As she made her way towards the bridge Vanessa patched herself into the bridge's coms and listened in on the briefing.

Vanessa felt the ship rumble as it fired a MAC round and started running faster until she finally got to the bridge and saluted the rest of the members of her fire team. "Sorry for being late." Vanessa said turning her head over seeing a haurgok on the bridge, she had seen and interacted with them before. "So what's its real name besides Sparky? I know they have their own names from the way that they were born." Vanessa then looked over towards the holographic display of Horizon as a MAC round went through and a drop pod as well. "I would like to volunteer to examine the forerunner artifact as well."

Name: Spartan Vanessa Neal

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Military Classification: Spartan Branch (Formerly ODST)

Service History: Born on the outer colony of Arcadia on September 29th, 2530 during the Human-Covenant War Vanessa was raised by her mother and father her father worked as a high school teacher while her mother worked as a doctor. On February 9th 2531 the Covenant attacked the colony, Vanessa was one year old during the attack, losing her mother to the Covenant as they were evacuating the colony. Having nowhere else to go Vanessa's father and her moved to Reach where she would spend most of her life growing up in New Alexandria. When Vanessa turned eighteen the age where she was able to enlist in the UNSC Marine Corps, by 2550 Vanessa volunteered to join the ODST and after several long months of training and excelled in it, and given the rank of sergeant.

On October 20th 2552 The Covenant found Earth's location as Regret's fleet broke through Earth's defenses Vanessa and a squad of ODST's were ordered to protect the civilians and aid in the defense of Cleveland, after the successful victor she was then ordered to Voi and help with the defense of the city while the Covenant excavated the area. During the battle Vanessa ended up getting injured by a Brute Spiker, where she was then medevac to safety. Spending the next several months in the hospital and the war was over Vanessa made a full recovery and was approached to join the Spartan IV Program which she quickly accepted going through training as well as the augmentation Vanessa was now a part of the Spartan Branch where she participated in the Second Battle of Requiem against the Prometheans and the Covenant Remnant led by the Sanghelli Jul'Mdama.

As the briefing finally came to an end Vanessa looked along the other members of the team that she was now a part of seeing some going their own ways Vanessa could feel her stomach grumble slightly. "I'll be at the mess hall if anyone of you wants to hang out or something until this mission starts." Vanessa said turning around she removed her helmet and started to make her way towards The Blade's Edge's mess hall, as she walked down the hallway Vanessa looked along some of the fellow marines and ODSTs and other members of the crew of the Blade's Edge.

When Vanessa finally made it there she grabbed a tray and started to grab the food setting it down onto the tray before finding her own seat close to a window looking out all she could see was the darkness of slipspace.
