Torunn Thorsdottir

As Torunn watched the TV, she felt her phone vibrate and quickly reached for it looking down at her screen and smiled softly when she saw that it was from her mother. She looked over at the bag of chips that she had started to eat, the idea of ordering out wasn't a bad idea and she had been meaning to go and visit her mother as well. Torunn moved over to the small kitchen setting the bag of chips inside the cabinets that she had kept her snacks in, before pulling out her phone to text her mother.

To Mom:
"From that pizza and wings place we always order from, i'm in. Be there in about ten minutes or so love you and see you soon!"

Torunn hit send as she reached over for her apartment keys as well as her purse, looking over towards her cat Torunn smiled happily and gently ruffled the fur on the cat's head. "See you when I get back." She said to the cat as she walked out and closed the door behind her, she made sure that it was locked up before heading down towards the elevator. Even though she sees her mother at least a few times a week, she was always really happy to see her regardless. Torunn hit the floor button as the elevator went back down to the ground floor, it wasn't that far of a walk, it was about five blocks down from her apartment building.

She stuffed her hands into her pocket as she started to walk along the sidewalk, she would occasionally smile and wave at a few people who walked by her. About ten minutes or so later Torunn was at the building where she had lived in for a long time, she knew the doorman there and gave him a friendly nod before heading over towards the elevator. She hit the top floor where the penthouse was at, when it came to a stop Torunn got out making her way to the front door as she started to knock on the door.

As Torunn walked down the sidewalk she stopped for a moment looking at an elderly man who seemed to have been down on his luck, his clothes were filthy and he appeared to be homeless. She started to dig through her purse and pulled out a twenty dollar bill, and handed him the money. She truly always did feel horrible when she saw someone living on the streets, she always did what she could try and help them out whenever possible. "It's not much, but maybe it would get you a few hot meals." Torunn said with a soft and friendly smile, the man seemed to instantly perked up and started to thank her multiple times and shook her hand.

She was lucky that she and her mother lived a pretty good life so far, Torunn remembered living in the really nice penthouse with her mother during her final year of high school she did manage to convince her to let her live on her own. The small apartment wasn't that far now, as she looked up at the building she called home. Torunn pulled out her apartment keys and headed inside of the building, she started to head to the elevator and pressed the top floor. Leaning her back up against the wall she pulled out her phone to see if she had gotten any texts from anyone.

Torunn looked up and saw a few people getting into the elevator, she gave them a friendly smile and nod she hadn't been living on her own for that long. And she didn't really know the other tenants in the building itself as Torunn turned her attention back to her phone, she decided once she had gotten home she would text her mother to let her know that he had gotten back to her apartment safely. Once the elevator came to a stop on her floor she quickly got out, making her way towards her room. Torunn pulled out her set of keys and unlocked the door, closing it behind her.

She was instantly greeted by a orange long haired cat, named Buddy as the cat meowed at her Torunn smiled brightly at the little guy as she kneeled down and picked up the cat in her arms. "I missed you to." Torunn said happily as she gave the cat a kiss on the head before putting him down, she remembered about five years ago she found the cat as a homeless kitten and instantly fell in love with the little fur ball. She remembered it took such a long time until her mother finally caved in and let her keep him. Torunn walked over and started to put in a fresh bag of cat food into his bowl the cat instantly dived right for it and started eating rather quickly she pulled out her cell phone again and started to text her mother. 

To Mom:
"Heya, just wanted to let you know I made it to my apartment safely."

She hit send and decided to grab herself a snack to eat herself, walking over to a nearby cupboard and pulled out an opened bag of chips she had been eating the last few days. Torunn grabbed the remote, turning on the TV as she quickly flopped down on the couch to find out anything interesting was on the News.
