*offers internet hug* I know that feeling GK. If I didn't work a job where I could have my laptop during university, I would never have gotten any writing done. I miss that job, since I can't seem to get any writing done now that I'm out. Take your time mate. We'll still be here.

All right I had to look for a proper picture to match up with her, but I think I came close.

Anything Else: I work nights at the moment, I almost always drink on Wednesdays (trivia = free beer), and I'll try to get stuff done more on the weekend. With the football season winding down, I don't have to worry about writing for that as much anymore, so I'm more active in RPs.

Personality: + Shirin is quick to open up to and accept most people, even those who appear so different to her.
+ She is generous to those she considers friends almost to a fault, offering the clothing off her back or her last bit of cash if they need it.
+ Shirin is a very good listener, able to empathize with many people and try to offer advice based the teaching of her youth and her experiences of the previous years.
+ Once she has a set goal, Shirin follows through on it 100%. There is no wavering.
+ She is analytical, able to calculate many angles in a debated actions, but she only offers these to others, not acting on them. For you see...
- Shirin has a very submissive personality, not wanting to take the lead on anything, preferring to defer to others in her group
- Due to experiences late in life, Shirin no longer trusts any kind of public authority figure. Almost to the point of open rebellion.
- She is also is no longer bound by her moral choices in actions after seeing how quickly other people abandon their own. If on her bad side, Shirin will take great pleasure in making you feel it.

This actually looks really intriguing. There was a similar premise on the other site that I RP on many moons ago, more revenge based than this one, but it never got off the ground and I was really disappointed since I really liked the character. With some tweaks she might work here though, if you guys are still interested in having people.

From what I've seen with the jet packs and the computers and what not it's pretty advanced, past current times anyways. So I figure even the remote nations will have some experience with advanced technology. That's why Reika has a smartphone. A cheap one, but it's one.

Appearance: Reika has a classical beauty to her that only heightens her inflated perception of herself. The girl stands 5'10" and weighs 139lbs, not much of it is muscle, but it is proportioned in all the right places, giving her body a nice set of curves. Reika has light brown skin, almost looking like a deep tan, but it's purely natural. Her face is sharp, with angled cheekbones, a small nose and mouth that purses easily when deriding someone, and heavily lidded icy blue eyes that sparkle when she's in a good mood. Her collarbone-length black hair is worn straight except for her bangs, which are swept to the right side of her face and held in place with a clip featuring a jade-color stone carved in a similar manner to the betrothal necklaces worn in the past by Northern Water Brides (worn ironically, of course). She has a pair of blue streaks in her bangs as well, making the swept hair stand out when framing her face.

Reika has adapted to Republic City culture and her usual attire reflects that. She wears a black hooded cloak that looks like the top half of a jacket complete with sleeves, held in place with a number of snaps, but it only covers to the top of her chest. Below that she rotates tank top shirts, usually blue to match the streaks in her hair. Reika sticks to jean shorts under it as well as a pair of black leather heeled boots that reach up to an inch below her knee and covered with the same kind of straps that are present on her cloak.

Abilities: Reika comes from a water bending heritage and it shows. She prefers to focus on the brutal forces of her homeland, specializing in ice attacks that recreate the harshest conditions people would face down there. She can attack with pure water perfectly fine, but Reika loves flash freezing and swarming her opponents with a barrage of shearing shards and snow to freeze them in their place. She doesn't focus much on defence, but can conjure an ice wall if need be in a pinch. Her Tai Chi movements are quicker than the average waterbender, allowing her to get attacks off faster, but it's not by much.

Her physical attacks are nothing to write home about. Reika spent so much time bending she never bothered to really build any kind of muscle mass or anything. If she really gets in trouble or needs to do anything on the down low, Reika's counting on having her weapon handy and being able to get off a quick slice to allow for escape/death.

Equipment and Bionics: Reika carries a antique knife made by her grandfather as her main physical weapon, eschewing most guns. (Who needs metal bullets when you have ice bullets?) It's a serrated blade lined with dolphin piranha teeth that is capable of piercing into flesh and bone with ease. She bought a cheap wireless phone in Republic City, but other than that has no electronics on her person.

Personality: Reika is a cocky brat, that's for sure. Due to her self-presumed lineage and birthday, she believes she was destined to be the Avatar, and as such she'll look down on many other benders. She likes to show off her talents with any opportunity, picking stuff off of shelves with ice balls and catching them. She has a tendency to be somewhat condescending to people she considers less talented than her, and will snipe remarks at people without provocation. Compliments are only paid upon receiving a plate of food from Narook's.

Handling criticism isn't a strong point of Reika's. She was so good at a young age she never really learned how to deal with it when it came and as such her usual response is to insult the person harsher than she got. Between this combative attitude towards supposed betters and her rude attitude towards lessers, Reika has become a rather closed off person, and although she won't admit it in public, it has left her feeling rather alone. Too bad she's not willing to change her attitudes at this time to fix that. The Stormcrows are doing a fine enough job at the moment.

Backstory: Reika was born and raised in the Southern Water tribe lands, shortly after the passing of her dear Great Aunt twice removed Korra. Reika was raised by her single mother Koloka, who only told her daughter that her father "was a commander in the United Forces who visited the South Pole on leave to reconnect with his roots." This oblique fact combined with the aptitude she showed with water bending at a young age had Reika convinced she was of the same lineage as Korra and was destined to be the new Avatar. Reika believed she had air bending down pat when she was able to make her ice crystals fly towards targets with pinpoint accuracy, since ice had to be totally carried by the air right? She spend her childhood training as if that was the case. She aced her ice dodging trial with flying colors, sailing right into the face of one chunk and passing by unscathed, earning the Mark of the Brave for her efforts.

Still, as time passed and no aptitude for fire or earth bending seemed to manifest itself, Reika reasoned that a land of ice, wind and snow was not conductive to those talents and at 18 she packed her bag left the South Pole for Republic City, eager to find someone to teach her the ways of the flames and dirt to make her complete in her own mind. It was not successful, as most people just laughed her off, dismissing her as "a wannabe Korra." Anyone who did this got cold feet about any further interaction with Reika in a hurry. She did find one group that weren't laughing when she demonstrated her talents and quickly told them what good taste they had. That's how she joined up with the Stormcrows organization and helped prepare for the operation they were about to embark on.
