I might slowly be coming back to life. Getting laid off does give one more time to think about stories and such.

Bio
I'm a 30-something woman just looking to keep those writing muscles in whatever shape I can. I'm also Canadian, so fill the rest of this bio with every stereotype you can think of. I've also single, so clearly I'm a catch.
Frequency Online: At least once a day, for indeterminate amounts of time. Depends on how much I don't want to get out of bed.
Responsibilities Offline:
I work night shift four nights a week and I'm going to be moving at the end of the summer to start a post-graduate course in sports journalism, so that time might be rough. Other than that I should be good. Hopefully.
Favorite tv show or books:
TV Shows: Archer, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Game of Thrones Books: Catch-22, Work! Consume! Die! (by Frankie Boyle), Gulliver's Travels
Why do you like to write/RP:
I've enjoyed writing for a long period of time and I love being able to contribute to a story that feels like it's something far bigger than anything I could come up with on my own. Plus it's a way to escape from a world that I have not really lived up to expectations in.
Fashioned as something resembling a pistol with a base speaker on top of it, this heavy pistol is designed to fire a concentrated and consistent pulse of sound at a target up to 100 feet away. The pulse overloads the audio sensory connection of someone's MChip, turning whatever they might here into a cacophony of painful noise that renders people unable to function properly (one victim could swear they heard the word "Friday" over and over again). These pulses can permeate most headphones but they are a bit clunky, which leaves Atomik unable to do much in close combat. They also can't rapid fire large pulses, so if someone is able to move and gets around an initial mega blast, that leaves Atomik vulnerable as well.
There are different settings on the guns allowing for Atomik to customize how much and what kind of damage the guns do. Odd numbers are used for solo targets while even numbers are used for multiple targets. 1-4 solely focus on audio warfare with 1-2 being used for letting the sweet soothing sounds massage and heal a teammate or herself and 3-4 are not so kind inflicting damage upon miscreant's ears and brains. 5-6 fire a steady pulse that will flow against a target much like a stream or river. 7 deals a large concussive blast to try and take a target out of commission and end a fight, although it's at this point where Atomik starts to lose total control of the cannon. The dial on the cannon is able to be cranked up to 11, but so far Atomik hasn't had the need to go beyond 7. She's a little worried about what might happen in the higher numbers.

Personality:
+Intelligent: Given the amount of time Maya has spent in the DgtWld prior to being a connector, he is very well versed in how it works and any exploits that might be available.
-Unmotivated: As such, Maya is adverse to doing any kind of work, so he prefers to do as little as possible. If anyone is going to do a job, Maya is more than happy to let them do it for him.
+Defender: Given the way he has been treated in his life, watching or hearing someone being ostracized for no good reasons is a sore spot for Maya and will inspire him to act. If anyone is being ignored or bullied, Maya will step in immediately on their behalf to fight for them.
-Naive: Given his lack of social interactions in the real world, sarcasm is something of a foreign concept to Maya. So is deceit. If something sounds plausible, Maya will believe it, and combining that with his need to defended the "downtrodden" can get him in a lot of trouble.
+Upbeat: In contrast to his real life mannerisms, Maya actually feels so at home in DgtWld that he sheds the introverted shell that he has cultivated offline and becomes completely relaxed and optimistic, more in tune with his current avatar.
+Loyal: Once he gets to know someone, Maya will back them wholeheartedly into whatever situation they may face, as long as it doesn't interfere with his previous tenets of not picking on the "weak gazelle" so to speak, or if he can find someone to do the actual work aspect of whatever needs to be done to follow.
Time With Tokyo Sector: Joined as a trainee Corrector in 2018, been in Tokyo since the start of his career.
Background: Maya is the only son of an Iranian immigrant father and a Japanese mother. He was born and raised in Niigata, while both his parents worked for a telecommunications company. His father was an electrician who moved post-Revolution and worked his way up the ladder of the union while maintaining a strict paternal structure in the home that when combined with his mother's cold passive attitude meant a very tough and rigid childhood for Maya. School wasn't much better. Lacking the immigrant populations of Tokyo and Nagoya, Maya's half-Iranian heritage made him stand out among his peers and he was a ripe target for bullying.
This constant belittlement in all aspects of life made Maya very timid and quick to withdraw in the growing online world at a young age. He refused to take out his frustrations on other people though, even when putting bullets into brains when playing popular online games. Instead he let himself get lost in whatever he was doing online at the time, music and visuals carrying him away from Mehdi's fiery anger over his slightly imperfect grades, and Ayame's indignant stare at his few successes. Even in school, when Ono Kenji slammed him against the fence every day for a month straight after accidentally scuffing his shoe, that anger and hatred washed away while Maya was lost in the online world.
When the DgtWld system was first gaining steam in Japan and the U.S., Maya was quick to hop onto the phenomenon. He saved for a few months to get one of the first MChips implanted and took to the virtual reality like a monkey to a hot spring. At first it was just a few secluded trips to his own private island to get away from it all and listen to music, but he started spending more and more time in the DgtWld. He was so enthralled by the potential this technology had, of being able to leave the physical plane behind and transport yourself anywhere you wanted your music to take you that he dedicated his studies towards making sure he could be able to contribute to such a beautiful achievement of modern science. This newfound dedication seemed to please his parents as well, so they let Maya continue on this course. Of course they didn't know Maya would do so well that he would be drafted to the Correctors squad. Not even Maya believed it at first, but once he got confirmation, he was thrilled to be able to have a more in depth role in protecting the world...as long as it didn't interfere with his time in virtual Antigua.
Given the lack of a base in his hometown, Maya was assigned to the Tokyo unit, able to leave Niigata for the first time. However upon arrival, he was subjected to the same kind of harassment he thought he had escaped a while ago, and the first avatar he was presented with prior to gaining the access to creating his own was that of a teenage girl. It was a big laugh among the senior connectors but on his first few trips into the DgtWld in this avatar, Maya wasn't getting stared at. He wasn't getting called a terrorist. He felt...normal. And it felt good. It felt liberating. So liberating that he kept the avatar even after getting clearance to change, only tweaking certain aspects to better fit the weaponry that he decided to outfit Atomik with when she first came into being. Besides, if no one was supposed to know about his role, it made sense to Maya for his avatar to be as far opposite from his true identity as possible. Despite the personal growth that has come with his time as a Corrector, Maya is still seen as a social outcast in the real world. He is known to his neighbors in the small Aoyama District flat for being a shut-off student training for his certification as a network administrator and technician, when in reality, he's just waiting for the next opportunity to get back into the DgtWld and make what he sees to be a bigger impact.
Nataly is 5'7" and is a slight 116 lbs. Her northern roots show in her pale skin, contrasting with ice blue hair. The hair is cut short, left at about shoulder length and her have bangs bound with purple bands. She has eyes are deeper blue than her hair, and what could be considered a "cute" complexion.
People are surprised by Nataly's slender frame because her robes are huge. They billow out from the sides and are bulky with fluff to protect from the cold that she conjures. Contrary to her skills, underneath the robes she dresses rather revealingly, to help deal with the heat of the southern lands the Academy sit on (relatively speaking). She has a pendant with a cut piece of blue amber on it that she'll often pull out to help her focus when conjuring up her icy magics.
Equipment: Why carry weapons when concealable and untraceable ones can be crafted out of ice?
Demeanor: Nataly has been rather bubbly as of late. The prospect of finally getting promoted from Adept to Weaver has lifted her spirits in recent months, and has seen a surge in her production in classes as well as her kindness towards her fellow Hydros. You do not want to get on her bad side though. If ever wronged in any way, it's not possible for Nataly to just let it go.
History: The Andrades welcomed young Nataly into the family during a nasty blizzard in the Far Northern town of Cartaquilla, which serves as the main port for the Kingdom of Gran Helada. That might have served as a premonition for Nataly's future, but blizzards were a regular facet of life in the frozen lands. For Falco, a fisherman by trade, and Yoreli, a stay-at-home mother, the first daughter in the family after three boys was a welcome change and they doted the young girl from the moment she was placed in the buffered crib.
The first sign that Nataly might be special in more ways than one manifested when she was eleven. Yoreli opened the door to Nataly's room one morning to find the girl playing in a layer of snow, a icy replica of her brother Jaime standing guard as she made snow angels. Yoreli scolded the child for leaving the window open and letting all the snow in but the window was closed, revealing the sunny day that Cartaquilla had been blessed with. As Yoreli looked up she could see the sprinkles of snowflakes falling from the ceiling, then dropped down to her daughter, still happily waving her arms without a care in the world.
This revelation was met with fear and seclusion for Nataly, as Yoreli did her best to hide the witchcraft her daughter perpetrated. Falco paid no mind, usually out on trawling expeditions but Yoreli kept Nataly's powers a secret from her husband and he maintained a loving bond with his child. However, the snow that Nataly so willingly embraced would prove to be her father's downfall. Twelve hours after he left Cartaquilla on a day hunt for crab, one of the worst blizzards in a century struck. It paralyzed the region and trapped all seabound ships for days while the ice raged on. Worry grew with each passing day, and the prospect of Falco returning was fading. It got to the point that on the third day, Yoreli came out into the snow, searching for her sixteen year old daughter only to find Nataly standing in her pyjamas, tears frozen to her face, desperately trying to bend the snow away to open a path for her father to come back. She failed.
Without Falco, Yoreli tried to look for other paths to taking care of her children. She learned about the Academy for people with Nataly's talents, so the girl was sent packing at age 17 for the far south. Nataly was slow to progress off the bat. She still was upset about her father and did not want to conjure up the substance that took him away in her mind, but eventually the icy walls tumbled down and she was starting to get the hang of controlling her gifts. She finally passed her Adept exam at 23, and has been working hard to try and progress up the ranks. Nataly wants to get to the point where she could control the snowstorms of her hometown and at least make sure other kids don't have to lose their parents like she did.
For once, sleep didn't linger for very long on the body of the 26 year old woman in the room painted a dazzling icy blue. Usually she would enjoy the naturally chilled temperature of her room as long as possible and then drag herself out of the room to go to the classes. Sure there was an uptick in willingness to go early to class in recent months with the rumors that a promotion to Weaver was on the horizon, but she still preferred to stay in her room. Today though, today was not like any other day, and Nataly Andrade was rife with anticipation.
She had heard rumors from some of the Adepts that the Masters were looking at people to head to the North. For what? No one knew. But it was closer to home than Nataly had been in nine years, and she wanted to go. Surely there were other students with greater talents who were going to be looked at, but Nataly was determined to get a slot on the expedition. Maybe she could even sneak a trip back home, to try and show her mom what she had done with her time in the Academy. There was almost no contact with Gran Helada during her time here, so the least she could do is try and get a message up to her remaining family. So when she got called into the Master's office alongside Eve, she was ecstatic.
Nataly threw on the clothes she had chosen for the trip that didn't hit the suitcase and threw on her robes. It was still going to be a bit warm for them, but she wanted to make a good first impression on the Northern party. At least look like someone who was ready to freeze up a storm...well, close enough to it. Maybe someday... She shook her head. She grabbed some more last minute toiletries and did one last sweep of her room. I think that's everything...Not like I can't buy stuff I guess...The markets up North may be barren but they have some things... She looked out the window of her room and saw how high the sun was hanging. "Shit! How am I late?"
Nataly quickly grabbed her bag and dashed out of her room, deftly managing to hook her feet into her sandals as she ran. The urge to just slide down some iced over stairs was tempting, but she didn't need to risk smashing into a wall on the way down. Still she did everything short of that to get out of the residence quick as she could. Luckily it appeared no one was clogging up the hallways with meaningless shenanigans, no doubt still hungover from the pre-trip celebrations the students through. Any excuse for a night free of studying. Nataly was thankful she didn't go too overboard now.
Running out into the open fields outside the Academy, it was clear why there were no students in the corridors. They were all out here gawking at the massive ship. Great. Good work Nataly... She kept silently cursing herself for mucking up already as she moved through the crowds toward the ship. As she neared, she could see the crowd of adepts already there, including Eve, as well as one of the Light masters. A name wasn't coming to mind. Damn it...guess I gotta play this off...
The Blizzard specialist gave a wave as she approached the group, flicking the robe back to reveal the light blue hair "Hey! What's going on, everyone? You all weren't waiting for me, were you? I'm sorry it took me so..." Nataly was distracted by the presence of someone she did remember from last night. She pointed at the guy seemingly covered in a layer of dust...or dirt...what was it? "Wait, weren't you Alexi's flavor of the hour at the party last night? Don't tell me she tossed you out this early?" She shook her head, laughing. "You must have done something really stupid. She'll usually take a guy for all he's worth!"

@Genkai: Yeah I saw that. Think I'll use the opportunity to switch Corrector appearances then. Found one that's a bit more in line with Maya's original look, even if the Miku vibes are too strong.
Edit: Also changed the theme because apparently that Youtube account got suspended too. Jeez.
The young woman with the dark skin shook the cobwebs loose off of her body as she stepped off of the huge Sail-branded airship that had just docked in Regala. Between the long and cramped boat journey from Castelia City to Port Fae, the long and frankly way too expensive cab ride from Port Fae to Spirivic, and then the airship ride from Spirivic to Regala, she had been doing a lot more sitting and laying still than she had been used to. Her right leg was feeling the effects of it and she reached down to rub at the weakened limb. As she did so, the young Petilil that she held in her arm scrambled up from the crook it formed to atop her shoulder, the Grass-type not a fan of being horizontal for survival reasons. While adjusting the brace, the woman grimaced slightly.
"Damn. My legs must have said screw sleep and went straight to hibernation. That's a long ass trip." She reached up onto her shoulder and steadied the nomadic Nina as she stood back up. "Thanks for not going too crazy on the whole thing, Nina. I know you're not the kind to stay still."
"Lillil! Petilil!" Nina seemed to appreciate the praise for her efforts.
Robyn surveyed the area outside of the station, and was immediately struck with a sense of deja vu. Regala seemed to be very similar to her hometown of Castelia, only if a king had gotten to make all the design calls. As she walked, she took in all the sights and sounds that were new to her, yet all too familiar. The names may have changed but the calls stayed the same. Street peddlers hawking their wares, frantic businessfolk trying to catch cabs that were already full, people telling other people the various holes in which they could shove their newspapers. She definitely wasn't homesick with this kind of action going on around her.
It wasn't hard to find the path to the Ilex Laboratories. The streets that led to the Palace nearby might as well have been paved with gold. It was like something out of the houses of the most egomaniacal of rap stars. And next door, of course, was the finish line for this little quest. The massive tower that spiraled into the sky like Robyn used to...would soon be doing again. Victory Tower was the final level for this challenge, but clearly she was not ready for the big time yet. Nina was small, yet to be in a real battle, and...completely lost in her own little bulby head. Swaying in Robyn's arms to a beat only she could hear. The headphone wasn't even dropped down for her. Maybe she's finally remembering her own tunes. Hopefully I can still teach her a fourth move...
Ilex Labs stood out as the only one with an actual tree on top of it. As defining features go, in a city of buildings it worked really well. As Robyn walked in past the swooshing double doors, the reception area again had a hint of deja vu to it. This feeling however was not as welcome as previous ones, as it harkened back to the reason why Robyn was doing this in the first place. She walked up to the receptionist, who was typing away at the computer he was working on. As Robyn plopped Nina onto the counter, he looked up.
"Ah, good morning!" He seemed chipper, and gave a quick look to the Petilil still bobbing on the table. "Here to pick up a Pokédex and take the League Challenge?"
Robyn nodded. "Yep, that's the plan! Me and Nina gonna kick ass!"
Nina perked up upon hearing her name and smiled. "Lillil!"
"That's what we want to hear!" He turned back to the screen. "And your last name?"
"Springs."
It took a second for the receptionist to find her application. "Excellent. Have a seat over there and the Professors will be calling you in with some of the others."
Robyn nodded again and picked up Nina, heading over to a second where a couple other people were waiting. She gave a slight wave as she gingerly set herself and Nina down, awaiting their journey's official start.
Appearance: Robyn stands at 5'9", and weighs 118 lbs. She is of African-American descent, her skin is a light brown, and she has blue eyes. She wears her black hair pulled back in a ponytail that ends at her shoulder blades, but leaves the bangs hanging out front. She has tattoos of the Chinese symbols for determination and dance on the lower left and right sides of her back, and she has a large scar on her right leg, around the knee.
Her outfits consist of a variety of plain low-cut t-shirts, zipper up hooded sweatshirts with a variety of graffiti-styled designs on them, and shorts that barely go halfway down her thighs. The constants in her outfit are a bright red scrunchie that she uses to keep her ponytail in place, a gold plated chain carrying a pendant with an aquamarine stone set inside of it, and a bulky black brace that is fitted on her right knee.
Personality: Robyn has a tendency to be a little bit ditzy in social situations, but that doesn't hamper her energy levels. She's still willing to give as much as she can to whatever cause she sets her mind to, be it making a sandwich or trying to be a Pokémon League champion. However, that raw passion can get it into a lot of trouble at times, as she tries to step beyond her limits or into situations she doesn't really understand.
The other side to her passion means that she is quick to learn whatever she can about the field she is in. It was how she was able to become so good at crew dancing in a relatively short amount of time, and why she is relatively knowledgeable on Pokémon in Unova. She is quick to share info with whoever is around, even if they don't ask for it. This also means that she is not very good at keeping secrets. In her blonder or drunker moments, she'll be blurting out confidential information without realizing it.
Nina is very important to her. Most of the time, she will carry Nina around in her arms, even dropping one of her headphones down to let her listen to the music with her.
Profession: Robyn thought about Coordinating, but Trainers make the big bucks, so she that is the path she's chosen.
Talents: Having spent a lot of her rehab time reading in her room, Robyn has all the technical knowledge on how to be a trainer, yet none of the street smarts of the profession. She was an outstanding dancer before the accident happened, but now her lateral movement is shot. As long as she has her brace on though, she can still run at a very good clip and the rest of her limbs are still somewhat flexible.
Starter Pokémon: Nina, a female Petilil. Her moves are Absorb and Growth. Her ability is Own Tempo. She has a couple of notches on the middle leaf on her head that have not regrown after regeneration attempts.
Inventory: Robyn has the following in her converted laptop bag: - 7 Poke Balls - 3 Potions - 2 Antidotes - 1 Full Heal - A plastic water bottle, courtesy of Castelia Cone - Four days worth of outfits as well as as pair of hooded sweatshirts, and one two piece swimsuit. - A sleeping bag, which doubles as her clothes bag.
She is never seen without her Xtransceiver, or her Mp3 player, the headphones of which are perpetually dangling over her shoulder if they are not in her ears. She withdrew her life savings for this adventure, as well as pooled the money earned by her crewmates, which amounted to P$2500.
Hometown: Castelia City, Unova
Biography:
Robyn was the third child born to a low income family on the Eastern side of Castelia City. Her father was a construction worker, helping build the skyscrapers that towered over the city while her mother stayed at home and looked after her and her three siblings. Despite not having much money, Lisa Springs always looked after her kids before herself. She made sure they each were given the tools to make successes of their lives. Robyn identified her chosen path earlier than the other children, after watching a production of Swanna Lake on TV when she was 4. She wanted to dance.
Robyn's entertainment budget went into ballet classes at a studio down town starting at five years old. She showed a natural talent at even the more complicated moves executed at that age, and was a rising star in the field. But as she progressed further in levels, she started to realize that there was a ceiling to ballet that the prevailing culture in Unova would not care to raise while there were dancers gyrating their hips in music videos and behind the stars du jour. She was a bit dismayed until she travelled with the family to one of her younger brother's basketball practices when she was 16.
While basketball did not hold her attention for a minute, she roamed the halls of the East Castelia Community Center, and found something that did pique her interest. In one of the side rooms, a group of kids her age were dancing, but also doing flips and performing moves that displayed a lot of acrobatic and technical skill. She entered intrigued, and they explained how they were a dance crew, looking at eventually performing stage shows on Mode Street. Robyn was interested because it looked like she had found a way to put her dancing skills to use on a more fame-attractive path. The group was interested in having her because it finally meant they had a girl in the squad. So after finishing her final couple of ballet classes, she left the organized dance world and joined her first and only crew, Rock Sturdy.
The crew met and practised often over the next two years, making extra money by busking on Unity Pier. Robyn was able to combine the positioning and technique she gained from ballet with the raw athleticism and energy of the crew to become one of the star dancers in Rock Sturdy. They did very well with the street money but still weren't getting any closer to a Mode Street show. However, fate brought another way. Unova was getting it's own regional version of Dance Crew Dance Off, and the auditions were being held in Castelia. This was the shot. Rock Sturdy doubled the practices to get ready, and they were granted an audition in front of the celebrity panel.
They knew the routine they were going to do, although Robyn was a little worried about her part, since she was going to be sent skyward in order to stand out from the other crews, and she had never attempted anything above what she could normally jump. However the training runs went well, and the double back flip she was going to attempt to land was rehearsed multiple times with in the gymnastic center's sponge pit. She even got pep talks from the crew's leader, Rolla. He assured her, "Springs, we're gonna be there for you. Solid. You won't get hurt." Famous last words.
The time came, and the audition went smoothly, up until the big finale. Golem was going to be the one tossing Robyn into the air, he was the strongest member of the team, and they had work to make sure he would be able to control his toss to give Robyn enough time to rotate properly for a landing. Maybe the pressure of appearing on stage got to Golem. Maybe his hands had gotten a bit too sweaty. But when the time came to make the toss, something went wrong and he was light. Too light.
Robyn knew something was wrong when her foot left his hand, but she tried to make it work. For the team. She got the first flip in fine, but with the poor throw, she didn't have near enough time to get the second one in. She was coming around on the second rotation when she saw the floor coming too quickly. She tried to break her fall with her hands, but her legs got there first. Just coming out of the tuck, her right knee slammed into the concrete floor they were dancing on, doing the wrong kind of popping and unlocking, followed by her arms. She crumpled in a heap, and the audition was suddenly over.
Robyn was rushed into surgery where it was discovered that not only had her ACL and MCL been torn, but the patella had dislocated so badly it had torn that tendon as well. Doctors spent six hours reconstructing Robyn's knee, and then that's all her family's flimsy HMO would cover. It had gotten to the point where it was now technically together, but it was so unstable that one wrong step was liable to knock her knee right out again. The family's meagre savings could only buy a clunky brace that was fitted to keep Robyn's leg intact, but it was clear her dancing career had come to an abrupt end.
Rehab was painful. Robyn spent the first month just learning to stand again on her leg, complicated by the broken wrists she sustained. It was the first time in her life that she actually felt shaken in her belief, that she could do whatever she was asked to do. It took a couple months before she could finally walk at a pace to match her siblings again, at which point, the insurance company said that was good enough and stopped paying for it. Robyn was sent home at approximately 50% capacity.
She spent the next week moping at home, in the deepest funk when her mother had finally had enough. Lisa told her that she had spent too much time working on her talents to just give up on them so easily. She made her run every errand, do every mobile chore, to try and build her leg back up. When she didn't come back in a respectable time, Lisa berated her. This continued for a few months, until finally, Robyn couldn't take it any more. There was a massive fight and Robyn took off, just wanting to get away from the oppressive atmosphere.
She took off down towards the pier, then reaching a dead end there she turned east and ran across Skyarrow Bridge and into Pinwheel Forest. It was in the tall grasses that she finally collapsed in a fit of mental pain and physical pain. She sat there crying, cursing the world that had taken her freedom away, wallowing in her own despair until something came out of the grasses and collapsed against her. Looking down, she saw a Petilil, looking like it was in worse shape than she was, with scrapes all over its body, purple stuff dripping out of the wounds, missing chunks of the leaves on its head. Robyn forgot about her own problems for a moment and picked up the injured Grass Pokémon. Knowing there was a Pokémon Center near the pier, Robyn headed back towards Castelia to try and see if there was help available for the little Petilil.
As she walked back, Robyn realized exactly what she had done in her fit of rage. When she was brought home from the hospital, she could barely walk around her block without feeling a great deal of pain. Now, she had been able to run all the way across the towering suspension bridge before stopping. Once back in Castelia, she got the Petilil to the Center and they were able to bring it back almost to full health, the middle leaf not healing the missing chunks in it. But still, it was bouncing up and down on the counter, happy as could be. Almost like it was dancing. Robyn smiled at seeing the previously battered Pokémon back to seemingly full health, for the first time since the accident she was uplifted by the turnaround. She thanked the nurses and brought the Petilil back home, intent on taking it back to the forest the next day.
Plans change though. In the night hours, Robyn watched the Petilil roam around her room, seemingly grateful to be out of the forest. As Robyn played her music, Petilil tried to move to it, but it seemed to be on its own beat. By the time morning came around, Petilil was now Nina, and Robyn was intent on keeping her new friend around. She just had to convince her mother. Lisa had dismissed Pokémon training for years, saying it was a fool's errand to go around on it, and that it was too expensive. But when Robyn emerged in the morning, Nina in tow to plead her case, Lisa did see something she hadn't seen in Robyn in months. Her drive was back, and that alone outweighed the potential costs of caring for the Petilil. So, with some of her savings, Robyn purchased a Poké Ball and Nina was officially part of the family.
A few days later, Rolla and the rest of Rock Sturdy dropped in on one of their usual visits. They had more good news for their fellow member. There had been progress made on an experimental new surgery to use Solosis cells to regenerate human limbs and tissues and they had begun taking up a collection to try and pay for it, since it was Golem's error that led to Robyn's current state. However, like most surgeries it was very expensive, and the cut they had raised had not even reached 1% of the funds needed. It was still a touching gesture and Robyn thanked them for the ray of hope. However, the money never seemed to flow into East Castelia, so it was likely a pipe dream.
A few weeks later, just as it had in her youth, TV served to inspire Robyn once again. Tired of being in the shadows of the other regions, Sengun was putting out the word that their League was up and running, and would be paying out handsome sums if Trainers could beat their cadre of Gym Leaders. This was the Golden Ticket Robyn had been looking for, and it was paying out far more than the Unova League was. Plus the whole lack of walking from place to place thing was far more attractive than hiking through Twist Mountain. It took a long discussion with her mother, but eventually she was given the go-ahead to try and make this work. After gathering what money she could, she bought a few supplies and headed out with Nina from her home port to Port Fae, intent on conquering the land in order to get back on her main path and to get her independence back.
Notes: Robyn's favorite dancing music is upbeat trance, although she cedes to the whims of the group for hip-hop based dance moves when performing.
