It was a coup to get one of Woodford University's top athletes to come to this shindig, because everyone knows who Jade Scott is and what she is about. She scores goals, and lots of them. So she's a damn celebrity, and she knows it. Also, Rachel bailed Jade out of a tough assignment in her Journalism 304 class, so Jade owes her big, and showing up for a raging summer-long party before hunkering down and working on getting that #1 draft spot in the NWSL is a great way to repay a favor.

Anyone who knows Jade Scott knows that this is a girl who can not be stopped. Once she decides she's going to do something, she will not rest until she accomplishes that goal. Usually that goal is goals, but even in getting back to shape following her injury, getting that invite onto the US Women's team, she is driven to achieve whatever she needs to do to get to the next step.

Jade Scott was born in Rifle, Colorado into an athletic family. Her mother Courtney was a track star in Arvada, while her father Vaughn spent two seasons on the Broncos' practice squad as a running back. Jade was introduced to sports at a young age and quickly took to the local soccer program in Rifle. She took to it very well. Too well. It became clear she was combining her mother's speed with her father's footwork to devastating results for the rest of the kids in town. When she was 10, the Scotts moved to Denver to give Jade a shot to play against some real competition.

Only Woodford kept its offer of a full ride intact. It was a decision that Kraken fans would not regret. Jade came back strong as ever, blitzing the competition and pouring in goal after goal. She planted herself back on the soccer map, but was not rewarded with a call up to the senior women's team. So instead, she's going to take the time to enjoy her summer and focus on her senior year ahead, intent on making the doubters pay yet again.

🗡️ Lead singer / Guitarist for "The Scarlet Dagger", a two-person band with her sister Mina. They could have interest in a drummer, should they be able to hang with both Mina's symphonic concertos on the keys and Nat's alternating rock-heavy shredding on the electric guitar and soft strums on the acoustic. They could have an album deal in the works.

🗡️ Loyal It takes a lot to earn Nat's trust. However, once someone has it, they have an ally who will fight to the death (or undeath) for them. She does not take slights very easily and will defend those she cares about in whatever manner she has to, especially if it involves violence.

🗡️ Creative Nat has grown up being an outside-the-box thinker, and it's led to some beautiful things. The creation of "The Scarlet Dagger" was one, combining her sister Mina's classical talents with her own rock-honed strains to make something truly unique on the New York scene. It's also led her to come up with some very innovative ways to get her daggers exactly where they need to go. She will not be pegged as some straight-shot simp.

🗡️ Unafraid The worst of the world already unveiled itself to Nat, so what does she have to fear from it? She will not back down from any fight, she will not shirk away from any tenuous situation, she will dive in and face it no matter what. Daggers drawn.

🗡️ Overprotective She may claim a lot of lovers, but there is only one woman in the world that matters to Natalia, and that is Mina. She will literally do whatever she needs to in order to protect her lone surviving non-insane family member, even if that means sacrificing herself for her sibling. She is the smart one. She has the world-changing talent. She must survive, even if that means Nat must not.

🗡️ Hot-headed Nat has a temper, especially when it comes to protecting her little sister. There have been many drinks offered to patrons to make up for being on the wrong side of the Dagger's anger, although she argues that 95% of them deserve what they get. It's led her to be a little rash, but she is so good at what she does that the management of Amnesia and Envy usually look the other way.

🗡️ Free-wheeling Definitely not as meticulous as her sibling, Nat is usually not one to go into things with a plan, other than attack. In any aspect of her life, be it finding her next make-out partner or finding the next off-kilter vampire to slay, she just charges in with her weapons and hopes for the best. Heck, getting a job at a popular vampire hangout and bringing her sister in blind to work with her wasn't exactly planned out, but here they are.

Aspirations/goals/philosophy:

🗡️ Natalia subscribes to being a master of all three mentioned in the quote above. As a woman, songwriter and mean wielder of daggers, she believes in herself and what she continues to do. She has to do so. There were few who did at the start.

🗡️ It feels like everything has been building towards this era in time for Natalia. The band is finally getting some buzz, enough to get notice from at least one record label thanks to her friend Angie. Loft life is good. Her sister is still good, and starting to come out of her shell a little bit. Things may finally be looking up for the Pereiras, and Nat will do whatever it takes to keep it going.

🗡️ Long term, the goal is to eventually get out of the loft and find a family home again, for her, Mina and their mother to live in relative peace and harmony, like they did before talk of vampires and serial killers entered their lives. Maybe even back in her birthplace. If its good enough for all those hockey players, it's good enough for them.

Skill Set:
🗡️ Guess Why She's Called Dagger: With her sister needing protection following the disintegration of their family dynamic, Nat sought ways to protect herself and her sibling. A chance visit to a pawn shop on the Lower East side netted her a pair of daggers that she quickly became skilled with. It took many nicks and cuts that Mina had to treat, but she is now ruthlessly efficient both in stabbing someone wherever she wants and throwing her daggers wherever she wants. She has accumulated many daggers for her continuing training as a vampire hunter, enough that there is a door in the loft that others open at their own risk, as it has become her "dagger closet".
🗡️ Beaten to the Punch: That isn't to say that Natalia would be helpless without a blade in her hand. Prior to acquiring her collection of weapons, she became proficient in bare-handed combat after being enrolled in a boxing class for "troubled youth" when she was 13. She enjoyed fighting, and learned how to defend herself, as well as the other members of her family, since her sister was loathe to fight and her mother's ability to battle steadily eroded. It's given her the ability to essentially be her own bouncer while tending bar.
🗡️ Flexible In All Ways: The training she undertook as a teenager has given Nat a very flexible body, as well as a flexible mind. Boxing trained her to think quickly, look for openings and try and come up with battle plans on the fly. She is relatively new to applying that to hunting, as she is still learning about the trade from her roommate, but certainly it can't hurt.
🗡️ Drawn To the Rocks: While her sister is more of an operatic singer when she performs vocals on stage, there is a rough, jagged quality to Natalia's singing voice that suits her rock leanings. However, when switching to the more hushed, acoustic songs, Natalia can get quiet and smooth to convey the tone. It allows her to match whichever muse Mina has when it comes to their music.
🗡️ She Can Dance If She Wants To: While not as taken to dance as her sister was, Nat still shared in the classes if only to maintain the family cohesiveness that it bred. She is a passable Latin dancer because of this, but she did not go to the lengths of Mina.
🗡️ Puny Gods: While Mina has her own god she prays to, Natalia has become something of an atheist. Hard not to after what happened to her father and what she learned about the world that got him killed. No, bless her soul, Nat found her rapture in the rock and roll, and sweet blasphemy guides her in much of her daily dealings.

Her main fear is something happening to Mina, especially given how little she knows of the world she finds herself on the fringes of. She doesn't want her to fall in.

History:

Natalia Alicia Pereira was born on a brisk fall day in North Caldwell, New Jersey to Mónica and Justin Pereira, who married following a whirlwind romance after Mónica came to America as an exchange student from Mexico. She met Justin, an aspiring architect, who when they got hitched, adopted the surname Pereira as his own, out of reverence to Mónica's family, and to be rid of the last name Dyck once and for all. They doted after their little brunette treasure, and Mónica became even more devoted to family life when Mina came along a little over two years later. They were happy in their idyllic New Jersey town, but a job offer forced Justin into the city, and the family, against their better wishes, followed.

This lasted for a couple years until Natalia was 12 and the disappearance of her father rocked her world. She and her mother were at one of Mina's recitals when they got the call from the local precinct that they had reason to believe that Justin had been claimed by the Bonekeeper, a serial killer who had been working in New York for some time. It was incomprehensible to Nat that her father would just be vanished like a cheap trick. It couldn't be. The world didn't work like that. Mina didn't take it well and Nat did her best to be strong for her sister, but it was hard.

Nat started lashing out at school, in anger at the world for what it did to her family. It led to her enrollment in boxing lessons to try and corral some of that rage. However, the money was drying up at a rapid rate. The Dycks, never thrilled Justin took Mónica's name, cut the family off from their resources and Mónica had to do terrible things, mind-wrenching things to try and keep the family afloat. Nat took a job at 16 at a local music store, doing janitorial work and odd jobs to try and help, but it wasn't enough. Mónica got worse and worse. When she was 18 and Mina was 16, Nat became the legal guardian, and Mónica was committed to a mental hosptial to try and get help for her various problems.

Nat continued to work at the music store and Mrs. Mitchell was happy to indulge the young woman in this world, leading to Nat's dreams of a band of her own to perform and serve as her outlet. She learned how to play the guitar and got very good. This was also when she bought her first set of daggers, for protection on the mean streets of New York. However, when she was 21, Mrs. Mitchell sold the store to a national conglomerate who just wanted the retail space for another bloody coffee shop. As thanks for her hard work and to give her a bit of a payout from the sale. Mrs. Mitchell offered Natalia a loft above a different record store that she owned as a rental deal, given what the family had to go through and how she just uprooted her from her spot. Natalia accepted. By this time, Nat was on friendly terms with the folks at Amnesia, who had allowed her in for a couple open-mic nights with her guitar. She picked up a job there as a bartender, and then learned just how much she didn't know about this city she was moved into.

It was at Amnesia when she had her first encounter with a vampire, a smooth-talker who liked the bourbon and was convinced Natalia was a reincarnation of a 16th century Spanish countess. He got handsy, and as such got punched out. A couple of the other co-workers revealed their statuses as vamps and informed Natalia exactly what Amnesia was about. Nat was angry at first, having associated the surreal with the disappearance of her father, but she needed the money, so she stayed. It was especially surprising when Angie Park, her former friend from the music store, resurfaced as a vampire in the most obvious way possible, but in a way it made sense. Rekindling that friendship helped Nat get over the initial shock of being knee deep in a bloodsuckers' world. Eventually, she grew accustomed to having vampire co-workers and patrons, like it was just normal, and her fellow barkeeps helped keep her sharp when dealing with the unruly customers. However, while Nat was now convinced that not all vampires were evil, she had to know what happened to her dad.

In addition to living in the loft with her sister, Natalia has allowed a couple other women to move into the loft. Vampire hunters. People she could learn from in exchange for a substantially reduced rent in the big city. Mina still doesn't know that Natalia plans to try and figure out what exactly happened to their dad, or how, but that's a worry for another day.

Emilia, or Emi to her close friends, would be the leading candidate for nicest person at Beverly Hills High. She was always willing to give to whatever club was raising money for whatever cause. She would join clubs that were short a member so they could form and have meetings, even if she had no idea what an anime was or why Kelly Slater needed an appreciation society. She had a smile for everyone and and her bright blonde hair would be a ray of sunshine into everyone's life. People were surprised when she started dating backup quarterback Brandon Mendoza in the middle of junior year, but they seemed to make each other even happier.

Which is why people were even more shocked when Brandon dumped Emilia at senior prom. The now-starting quarterback really took losing prom king hard, but there were rumors that Brandon had been fooling around behind Emilia's back. Watching someone else take the crown just gave Brandon a reason to end things. Emilia was devastated and she fled the prom shortly after. She showed up to receive her diploma but almost no one wanted to be the one to approach Little Miss Sunshine following the darkest day of her life. Aside from one person. The breakup is still very fresh, and it's the first time Emilia has ever been emotionally stabbed so deep. It's caused her to take a long hard look at everything about her life. Everything about her is in flux at the moment and the pain is still raw.

"Sniff....Hello. To anyone who is watching this... My name is Emilia Seger.... *sniff* I'm 18, born September 3rd, 2001, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Niklas and Caroline Seger. Moved to California in 2010 when my dad was traded to Los Angeles. *sniff* My favorite color is yellow, my favorite flavor of anything sweet is watermelon, and.... and.... I don't know why I'm saying all this. No one is going to see this. I'm not even going to see this. This is it.

I don't know what to do. I am still so ... mad ... and sad ... and I feel like I've been had. I can totally write music. I mean, I can't believe Brandon would do that. It was a few days ago now, but still it... how? We had this planned! We were going to go to the U of San Diego together! He was going to quarterback the Toreros and I could do a undergrad before moving into the Peace Studies program. And now? Now he's going to San Jose State? And he tells me this at our flipping prom? And dumps me in front of flipping everyone??? I... I can't... What am I supposed to do? I can't go back to Beverly Hills. Not after that. It was so... humiliating. And embarrassing.

Emilia, or Emi to her close friends, would be the leading candidate for nicest person at Beverly Hills High. She was always willing to give to whatever club was raising money for whatever cause. She would join clubs that were short a member so they could form and have meetings, even if she had no idea what an anime was or why Kelly Slater needed an appreciation society. She had a smile for everyone and and her bright blonde hair was a welcome ray of sunshine into almost anyone's life. People were surprised when she started dating backup quarterback Brandon Mendoza in the middle of junior year, but they seemed to make each other even happier.

Which is why people were even more shocked when Brandon dumped Emilia at senior prom. The now-starting quarterback really took losing prom king hard, but there were rumors that Brandon had been fooling around behind Emilia's back. Watching his teammate Carter take the crown instead of himself just gave Brandon a reason to end things with all the tact and publicity that he could muster. Emilia was devastated and she fled the prom shortly after. She showed up to receive her diploma but almost no one wanted to be the one to approach Little Miss Sunshine following the darkest day of her life. She spent the rest of the month locked away in her room, not wanting to engage with anyone or anything. The pain was too real. It took an olive branch from a friend to even get her to consider leaving, but now, getting out of California seemed like a good idea.

The breakup with Brandon is still very fresh, and it's the first time Emilia has ever been emotionally stabbed so deep. Everything about her is in flux at the moment and the pain is still raw. She doesn't know where she wants to go or what she wants to do. She's just aimless. She's tried to follow her guiding light, but even the divine Grande hasn't been able to help stabilize things completely. So now there are all these new competing emotions that she is struggling to get a complete handle on.

► brief history

Niklas Seger had just selected by the Minnesota Wild in their expansion draft when he attracted the eye of Caroline Sandstrom during a charity event in 2000. Nine months after they were married in a lovely July ceremony, Emilia was born April 21st, 2001, in Minneapolis. Emilia's time in Minnesota was cold, but happy. Her father doted heavily on her and would revel in taking Emilia to the rink to show off to all the team and the employees, although sometimes a little to close to the action for Caroline's liking. She started skating at a young age, and spent a lot of time under the watchful eye of her grandmother Hedvig, who would often take her grandchild out for activities at the school where she taught in Apple Valley. Emilia was encouraged to explore many different pursuits, and she did just that.

When Niklas was traded from the Wild to the Los Angeles Kings in 2010, he brought his family with him to sunny California, knowing his long-term future was secure after signing a seven-year contract with the club upon arrival. Hedvig retired from teaching to move with the family into a new home in Brentwood Park. A life of sun, sand and no more mittens suited Emilia, as it seemed like her body soaked in the glow and embodied the warm feelings that they gave out. She continued to do very well in school with her grandmother's help, and it seemed like high school wouldn't be much of a problem.

Upbringing Synopsis

Shawna was born in Monroe, Wisconsin, the third child to Martin, an engineer specializing in restaurant machinery, and Ramona, a culinary arts teacher at Blackhawk Tech. It looked like a simple food-based existence in America's Dairyland until Martin connected on a $236 million Powerball ticket in 2004. Flush with cash for the first time, the Josis packed up and headed south, settling in Palm Beach where Ramona opened a specialty bake shop known for its decadent chocolate fillings, while Martin found a job with a local tech firm.

Shawna was two when the family moved so she has no recollection of her roots in Wisconsin, but she did show the same advanced intelligence at a young age that became common in the family. She blitzed through the lower grades, much as her older siblings did, showing great aptitude for whatever subject her teachers challenged her with. However, as she grew older, it became more of a strain for her to try and keep up with the advanced coursework, especially with her older siblings setting the Ivy League on fire.

In her junior year, it came to a head during her Pre-Calculus final. As she sat in the gymnasium, trying to work out the various equations, it just ceased to click in her mind. As the final bell rang, she bolted from her desk and out onto the beach where she stood, screaming in vain at the ocean in frustration. Then, a moment of clarity came. Why was she doing all this? What was the point if she wasn't enjoying life, enjoying the riches her family had gained? Why should she keep this up?

Shawna spent her summer doing absolutely nothing, paying lip service to the college prep courses her parents were convinced she would still need, as if the 34 on the Pre-Calc final was just a blip on the radar. She would disappear for days at a time, telling her parents she was going to various camps to study, when in reality she was trying to shake the image of a nerd in the high-school scene she avoided for years. She is still trying, not sure she is succeeding, but definitely enjoying cramming coolers in her mouth more than cramming facts about Planck's Constant into her brain.

Appearance
Kelsey was raised to be proud of her rural roots, and she looks like it. She stands 5'11 in flats, and weighs 140 pounds. Her body looks lean, but she does carry some muscle from her athletic days and her efforts hauling firewood and forest kills into the house. Her long auburn-brown hair is usually tied back in a messy ponytail, but some of her bangs usually sneak out of the hair elastic. Her eyes are brown, but they glimmer just the same as those blonde bimbos with the blue eyes do. Folks just have to look deeper. She's not one to care too much about appearances, and as such will generally avoid makeup unless its time to hit the Rocky Mountain club scene. Her arms and legs are covered in nicks and scars from tree branches that caught her unaware, or in a couple instances, animals that didn't know when they were beaten. Her ears are pierced and she has one tattoo, a dark black circle with a sliver of silver on the right side, symbolizing a lunar eclipse, on her right shoulder blade.

She usually wears clothes for comfort, not classiness. She has a collection of jeans and a couple pairs of overalls, usually paired with a rotation of t-shirts, tank tops and jackets. Basically things that don't get in the way of her shooting. She has one accessory, a pendant tied with black rope and baring a polished piece of Mozarkite, a gift from her father so she would always have a connection to where she came from.

Kelsey is proud of where she grew up and embodies a lot of the morals her dad emphasized as she was progressing through her life. Take care of your own. Give what you can. Make do with what you get. Values that steered their actions. Course, having a beer or two never hurt anyone either. Gotta be able to socialize with the best of them. Her father swears he could shoot better with a drink in him, and he never got questioned on that ability. Not in the hunting group and not by his flesh and blood. Kelsey carries that same kind of confidence in her everyday life, be it on the target range or in a group of her peers, she will assert herself quickly and defend her ideas and compatriots with gusto.

Some would say too much gusto. As with many Marstons, Kelsey will stubbornly defend her idea to the death if she thinks its the right way to do. If it turns out she was right and was ignored, it will often get the offending party on her "shitlist" and they will remain there for a good while unless something miraculous happens. Marstons don't forget. Growing up in a rural town, she can be a little too trusting at times, believing that most people are good from the get go. However, if they betray that initial trust, they too will end up on the shitlist.

When out in a group of friends, she usually tries to be at the head of the party but can be persuaded to acquiesce to other ideas with a drink or two. Dionysius kids are very good at hitting that weak spot. She supports the Grizzlies and Blues, but baseball is boring and the Rams left, so that's it.

History
Kelsey grew up in a small homestead her father built outside of Steele, Missouri, a place where Kyle Marston was free to do whatever he pleased whenever he wasn't working as a mechanic in town. Her mother left shortly after she was born, and Kyle was left to try and learn how to be a parent on the fly. Guns weren't going to raise a young girl, but he was going to try and make it work.

There weren't many toys making their way into the household, so Kyle encouraged his daughter to embrace the outdoors and make her own fun. He encouraged athletics, as sports often filled the void when it grew too dark to hunt or fish. He built a basketball hoop on the side of his garage and encouraged young Kelsey to practice shooting at it, claiming she would be the first woman to play in the NBA if she got good enough. The way she shot, with accuracy uncanny for a girl her age at a regulation hoop, Kyle believed it for a bit. He put a gun in Kelsey's hands when she was 11, and she handled it well too, although she was more interested in the bow and arrow that Rick Sikes liked to use when he came out hunting. Kelsey showed a natural aptitude for that as well. The basketball and archery skills combined to give her the unofficial nickname "Shooter" in local circles.

Kelsey continued to work the land with her father, preparing meals out of their kills and keeping the homestead tidy. Her father even started splitting beers with her when she was 13, just happy for the company more than anything on those lonely nights in the shade of the Ozarks. She would continue to hone her shooting. Even in the dead of night, she would either have a basketball or her composite bow, and she would be just as successful as she was in the day. Kyle couldn't understand how Kelsey could shoot without the lights on, but rumor said that it just showed how unconscious a shot the Marston girl was. SEC schools were already sniffing around Bulldogs games to get a look at the 3-point specialist. It looked like she was set to make a run at that dream she was promised long ago.

Then came the date of Kelsey's 16th birthday. Long after the girls from her team had left for the evening, there was a knock on the Marstons' door as the two were sharing a birthday nip. A woman came in, uninvited, and explained that as her daughter, Kelsey had a destiny to fulfill. There was a lot of shouting that night, half of it in a British accent that almost sounded fake, and the sound of broken bottles could be heard. Eventually, both parents emerged and Kelsey got the news that she was heading to Pac-12 country instead, bundled off to Colorado.

Being denied a chance to follow her dreams put Kelsey in a sour mood when she set foot on Olympus Academy grounds, but her time at the campus has been spent as well as she could muster, despite a lack of game to hunt in the enchanted forests. Admins caught her threatening an impish faerie with a taste of her arrow and that got her reprimanded pretty good. She's settled into a groove during her time here where she will go through the motions in class and spend her off-time in the gymnasium, in the forest or out with some of the other demigods enjoying some libations, especially Dustyn, one of her best friends on campus. But she still remembers what her mother did. It's permanently on her body, and in her mind, and one day, she will get some answers.

Basically non-existent. Artemis didn't stick around very long after giving birth to Kelsey, buggering off to Gods-only-know where for 16 years until she showed up that fateful day, and explained in a Madonna-esque British accent that Kyle's only daughter needed to be sent off to Colorado to learn how to handle her abilities as a demigod. The Marstons have never trusted Artemis considering how quickly she abandoned the two of them, and as such, Kelsey has no desire to develop that relationship. Artemis got herself a new family, with a boy she could mold as she pleased. Good for her. She was number one on the shitlist.

Demigod Abilities

Boom Goes the Dynamite - Kelsey has the eyes of a hunter, and as such, she is deadly accurate with anything that she can get her hands on, be it a bow, a basketball or a bottle that needs flingin'. If it's one of the first two, she will put it on target 95% of the time, and she's working on that pesky last 5%. Guns are a bit lower on the scale, having fallen out of practice with them as she adapted to the bow and arrow, but she's still a good shot.

As Clear in Night as Day - Being the daughter of the Moon Goddess, Kelsey is very in tune with the benefits the heavenly body offers. She can see as clearly in the moonlight as in the daylight, allowing her to perfectly move around and hit her shots while her opponents may be fumbling around in the dark. She thinks she might have gravitational powers as well, but that's only based on Jackie Chan Adventures, and Saturday morning cartoons aren't the best to base ideas off of.

I Will Hunt You Down - Once Kelsey gets a whiff of a target, be it a deer, a rabbit or that snoop from the IRS, she will be able to follow it to the bitter end no matter what. She doesn't enjoy some of the methods necessary to get that scent, but once she has it, doom follows. She guarantees.

Meet You Under the Table - While not the beneficiary of her mother's hands-on parenting, meaning there's no control over nature or anything like that, Kelsey does share a trait with another set of demigod kids. Her training in the game of drink began young, and as such she has developed a strong tolerance for alcohol. She's no match for a Dionysius kid, but she can hold her own against almost anyone on campus. And don't mess with her at beer pong. She is the reigning champion.

Bio: Mia was born to Emilia and Gareth Riley, inheriting her mother's Italian looks and father's Irish charm. The parents split up when Mia was 4, primarily due to Gareth's gambling addiction. Every weekend Gareth was in Atlantic City, even as the ocean crept closer to the Boardwalk. After Emilia left and took the younger sister with her to Mama Chiozza's, Gareth would take Mia with him on his junkets. The seedy owners didn't mind the kid. Gareth was a good customer.

The first time Gareth bet Mia on a roll of the dice came when she was 10. The elder Riley had a real bad night against the Triads and needed a hard 10. Mia stared at the dice and they rolled for an eternity before settling on the two fives needed. Pressed to do it again a week later for the Fiorello Family, Gareth again need the 10 but this time he watched his daughter, sure he wouldn't get that lucky twice. But Mia just stared at the dice and once again the hard 10 showed. Mia celebrated but Gareth saw something, and it led to green in his eyes.

After hearing about the Awakened people showing up around the world, Gareth tested Mia at home, urging her to set the dice to whatever combo he called out. Mia complied. The two agreed it was in their best interests to hide this talent from the world. Instead, they used Mia's ability to wipe out Gareth's debts in New Atlantic City, Philly and beyond. Gareth played less, but anytime the two of them needed money to cover car repairs or a vacation to Florida or a new house when the Atlantic swallowed Cape May, the two went to the tables.

Time came to pay the piper when Mia was 19. The Pannuccis were particularly miffed about a six-figure win on the roulette table and Gareth Riley was gunned down outside his Vineland garage, left to die in cold blood. When Mia found her dying father after school, he told her to take the money and run or the Pannuccis would be back. Mia stayed by Gareth's side for comfort until he breathed his last, then packed her bag and bolted out of town.

She has spent the last three years working her way across the country, earning cash off big-city casinos and small town games alike with her "near-psychic abilities" on the roulette and craps tables. Getting caught outside of Uncasville, Connecticut got her added to the Registry for the first time, but she pressed on after she was released. The past six months were spent living it up in Vegas with money earned off some of the biggest casinos in the world. But finally the owners were taking notice of the brunette who had an uncanny winning streak going. They sent men up to her room in the Luxor to "dissuade" her from taking more casino money, but a warning from the bellboy who she tipped very generously gave her enough time to grab a bag and get out of Vegas. She was last seen speeding north in a rented S17, but a lot of her money was left in her room and despite the influx of sea air, the Nevada desert was still somewhat harsh...

Criminal Record: Presenting false identification to a law officer, illegal gambling.

Known Talents: Mia is real handy at math, able to quickly calculate odds and sums thanks to years of practice. She's also able to disguise herself relatively well considering she doesn't have shapeshifting abilities. No two ID cards have the exact same photo on them for a reason.

Known Abilities: Telekinesis - Mia has limited control with her mind over objects in her vicinity. She has remarkable control over the small objects, able to make them move at high speeds to render her efforts almost undetectable to the naked eye.

She has no idea of the full extent of her abilities, having not applied them to anything bigger than a roulette ball at the behest of her father. She couldn't be outed as an Awakened if no one could tell she had done anything. She's been good enough to avoid trouble so far, but with people eager to see her taken out, she might start seeing how far she can go.

One does not forget the visage of Mia Riley when it is stared upon, for while she is no child of Aphrodite, she made out pretty well in the looks department. Her eyes are most noticeable, piercing blue pools that draw the attention of moths to her flame. She has a fair complexion, framed by hair that can vary in color depending on what she's feeling that month. Right now, it's light brown with blond streaks worked in. This compensates for Mia's short stature, standing a mere 5'2" and weighing 112 pounds. She is as well-versed in makeup as any Jersey girl, preferring thick lashes, and light pink lipstick. Raising three kids as a single mother on the Jersey shoreline made Catriona Riley a very tough woman, and she imparted that personality on her youngest daughter. Mia learned from a young age to take what she could get whenever she could get it, but never at the expense of the family. She upholds these truths to this day. Mia will display an unwavering loyalty to those who are close enough to be considered family, but anyone outside the sphere is fair game.

As such, Mia will lie, cheat and steal with great regularity if she feels the benefits outweigh the costs and it will get her something she needs. She is very good at it, but it can get her into trouble at times, but nothing beats a quick getaway. However, while she gets a lot of praise for her looks, Mia gets very defensive about her height. When pushed, she goes full Jersey and threatens to do various things to various members of the offending party's family and it's really tough to calm her down.

_History

It was never an easy life for Catriona Riley, but she did what she could to support her family. One-night stands led to the birth of son Shea in 1994 and daughter Aisling in 1996, and it led her to take multiple jobs in an effort to make ends meet and put diapers on butts. However, old habits never die, and while working the hot dog stand at Morey's Piers in the fall of 1998, those Irish eyes lured an attractive looking Greek man to tip more than a dollar on his purchase. Waking up the next morning to the man attempting to sneak out the door, Hermes spilled the beans on why he couldn't stay for more than a night. He had messages to convey and while spending his night off at an amusement park wasn't initially supposed to end like this, he would check in to make sure Cat was all right. Turned out she was all right enough for two. Nine months later, Cat's second daughter was born in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. Cat's prospective name of Siobhan was bumped for a name that better indicated her father's lineage, Mia.

Hermes was good to his word, and he checked in regularly on his trips around the world as he passed through Jersey. He always brought money, but never mentioned how he acquired it. It was enough for Cat to quit the hot-dog gig and focus on becoming a massage therapist. She set up shop at home so she could still be there for her kids and it was successful enough that when combined with the money that Hermes regularly delivered, she could finally start providing herself and her kids some of the adequate things in life. While Shea gravitated to sports, particularly soccer, and Ash shifted to more of a grunge phase, Mia went another route.

After a particularly disappointing incident at Morey's Piers led to her sulking out on the boardwalk at age 10, Mia heard a couple of Japanese tourists arguing about directions. Not realizing that they were speaking Japanese and not English, the young girl went up and stunned the couple by offering to solve their problem in flawless Japanese for a nominal fee. They agreed and young Mia saw a way to increase her meager allowance.

While most people with the ability to speak all languages would go into politics or something, Mia was built to hustle. She would offer directions and other info during the tourist swells. The foreigners ate up the cute kid act, and she made decent money. However, she found her true calling when a German tourist got indignant with her, and left his fanny pack open. Mia deftly slipped her fingers in and swiped his wallet, netting a tidy profit before dumping it on the beach. Now she had her true calling.

She continued to work the boardwalk for the next few years, even if her cute act wasn't as viable as a teenager. Her pickpocketing skills only continued to improve. However, it came to a head on her 16th birthday, when her father appeared for a visit that lasted a bit longer than a swift exchange of money. After the cake had been consumed, he pulled Mia and Cat aside and explained that it was going to be time for the young girl to learn how to harness her talents. While loathe to leave the Shore, Cat understood that it would be the best path for Mia to get an education that wasn't hawking directions on the boardwalk and she agreed. Mia protested, but Hermes pulled her aside and explained that he knew what she had been doing, having spotted her on one of his return trips lifting the wallet off a Texan who was too big for his britches. Olympus, he reasoned, was the best place to get so good at the thieving craft that she would never have to worry about getting caught, not as good as her old man, but still good enough. Mia saw the logic and agreed to attend.

In her time at Olympus, Mia has worked on her agility and ability to sweet talk with the best of them, and she has made some great progress. So much so she can clean out a Czech caravan of all its cash in mere minutes if she set her mind to it. She has indulged in feeding her fashion sense with all her ill-gotten gains and fell in with a crowd at the Academy that appreciates what she brings to the table. Now she's starting to eye bigger scores than just the boardwalk buffoons. Just a matter of when she can make her move.

It could be less described as a relationship and more described as an understanding. Hermes' work meant he could never be in one place for too long, certainly not the Shore. However, he always made time for his daughter when he arrived to give Cat her usual payment. He is also thrilled to see her take to his special talents so quickly and with such aplomb. The hot-dog escapade was proving to be quite fruitful in more ways than one.

Now We're Talkin' - As a messenger to many corners of the world, it's important to be able to communicate said message clearly. Mia, like all offspring of Hermes, can understand and converse in any language known to mankind. It means none of that snide switching languages to badmouth her while she is standing right there, got it?

Can't Keep A Good Girl Out - Hermes is the god of thieves, and he has learned a few tricks that he has imparted to his children. Mainly that there is no lock in the universe that Mia can't bypass. Key, car, house alarm, Mia is able to open them all and force them to give up the ghost as it were. She has yet to try it on anything more complex than a 2018 rental Focus, but she's starting to dream big with this talent.

The Gift of Gab - Almost an homage to her family's roots, Mia has the ability to talk herself out of almost any negative situation. Particularly useful when the cops back home were sniffing about her totally legitimate business operations, even if they aren't as legitimate anymore. It doesn't seem to work on her fellow demigods though, but who knows? They could fall for other things.

I Got the Magic Stick - Now that she is 19, Mia has been gifted her first caduceus. There are many powers that this winged staff contains, but the young woman has no idea what they all entail yet. She's read that it could potentially have the power to turn rocks into gold, to bring the dead back to life, and to make Vitamin Water not taste like cough syrup. She is unsure about that last one.

Being an ex-athlete, Kieran still looks the part. At 6'3", 220lbs, his body has maintained most of its shape from his playing days, but he has started slacking a little more lately so the muscles aren't as well defined now. Growing up in the rural part of Newfoundland has given Kieran an appreciation for taking things slow, but in the end it wasn't really for him. He likes the ability to do any number of things in one day, which was only possible after a long car ride back home. He likes to be out with people, doing things. He had enough hanging out alone back home.

Kieran has always been an easygoing person. Growing up constantly surrounded by a team atmosphere, he was usually the calm presence among his fellow athletes. On the ice, he played as ferociously as anyone. He earned his nickname in his freshman season with Bentley after taking down junior enforcer J.P. Smolinski of Robert Morris in his first ever Atlantic Hockey scrap. He will fight for his team tooth and nail, he's that loyal once on board.

Since the end of his first career, it's been a tough adjustment for Kieran, but he's managed. His creative side has become more prominent now that he's trying to use it to make a name for himself. Sometimes he can be hard on himself, his vocabulary seemingly lacking behind other writers at his level, his quotes crisper. However, he's going to keep fighting and working at it. No other way to do it in his eyes.

H I S T O R Y
The kid was as Canadian as a Tim Horton's donut covered in maple syrup. It was clear from an early age. From the second Patrick and Maryse O'Connor brought their youngest to Harbour Grace Arena for his first skate, Kieran showed he had a natural talent for gliding along the ice. As such, his parents invested all their spare cash in letting their blond-haired boy pursue his dream of following Danny Cleary from the island to the NHL.

Kieran was good. By the time he was eligible for the QMJHL entry draft, he was far and away the best player in Harbour Grace. However in a town of 3,000, that doesn't amount to much in the big scheme of things. He was picked in the 12th round by Charlottetown, attended one training camp and was cut soon after. Discouraged, he kept plugging away on the Rock, hoping to get noticed by someone, until late in his senior year at high school, he was offered a scholarship to Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. NCAA Hockey was in the cards.

He was unknown to most of his teammates until the fight against Smolinski earned his moniker. He plugged away at Bentley, making the All-Atlantic team in his final season as he earned a Communications degree. This caught the eye of the New York Islanders, who signed him to an entry league deal and sent him to the third-tier ECHL team in Independence, Missouri. However, tragedy struck in his fourth game with the Mavericks as he was driven head-first into the boards by Idaho's Andrew Carroll. He felt all right, but a CAT scan a couple days later showed a problem with his C1 vertabrae. The doctors told Kieran the hit should have paralyzed him, and next time he likely wouldn't be as lucky. Devastated, Kieran announced his retirement that October.

The Islanders organization was shocked, but looked after the newly-retired prospect. They offered him a job with the website, writing articles on the team, and Kieran did well for the season he was there, but his contract wasn't renewed. He stayed in Brooklyn though, picking up local writing jobs in Brooklyn in the hopes that eventually he would land something more stable and lucrative, possibly with a network. It's not the dream he started with but it's one he hopes is more achievable, lest he had back to Newfoundland with nothing to show for all those youth trophies he obtained.

Upbringing Synopsis

He was head and shoulders above the other kids in Harbour Grace and was a stand out even in the larger St. John's league. However, that still didn't amount to much and he wasn't drafted until the 10th round of the 2016 QMJHL draft by Blainville-Boisbriand. Not content to move to Quebec, Kieran didn't report to camp and instead decided the NCAA route would be the best way to reach then pros. His grades were so good that he had multiple offers from the States, but his parents insisted on education first and Kieran made his way to the top-tier Meadow University in 2018.

Kieran maintained an open-dorm policy when he got to university and it served him well, landing some solid friends and a couple eventual future roommates. He still is dreaming of that NHL contract so he can put the Rock back on the professional hockey map given the dearth of talent that has managed to stay in the big leagues.

Appearance: Sierra stands 5'11", with long blonde hair and blue eyes. She usually wears her hair down, kept in place with a headband that wraps around the back to form a bow.

Her outfit usually conforms to colder weather, as she spent a lot of time around the Ice Path. However, in preparation for Alola, she has shed the heavy sweaters for the tank tops she usually wore underneath, usually pastel colors. They would be combined with a pair of black or white shorts, depending on the color. She is looking forward to adding to her wardrobe while on the islands.

Personality/Motivation: Sierra is a contrarian. Growing up back home, she was expected to follow the path over everyone else, and she rejected it in favor of something different. Even if it doesn't work out, she won't abandon a path she's started. That's why even when her first ticket to Alola was for a boat that had been discontinued, she kept working until she got a ticket for one that was in operation.

That being said, she does trust some people, but they really have to earn it. Otherwise she remains cold and distant. Avoid stereotypes, too. She doesn't appreciate being considered a dumb blonde.

History: Sierra was born in Blackthorn City, Johto, to a family who were a part of the clan that surrounded the dragon shrine the city was known for. She was the youngest of five kids, three older sisters and one older brother, and they treated her as such. All the hand-me-downs, all the last picks at dinner, all the keep-aways. It sucked.

The youngest Shilton didn't even want a Pokemon at first. It would just be another thing her family held over her. All with strong Dratini or Seadra, so she decided not to follow them into the Dragon's Den. She didn't want to be a trainer.

That only served to further isolate herself from her family as the elder Shiltons all but disowned the supposed black sheep. remained in her room most of the time, reading and researching on her computer for her education, until one day she was talking to a friend in Unova who she usually confided in, and they asked a simple question:

"Why resign yourself to avoiding your family's shadow when you can eclipse them?"

She knew what she had to do.

Sierra went to the Ice Cave to the north of Blackthorn and went looking for the kind of Pokemon that would take her family down a peg, and she found one. A Swinub that appeared relatively frisky compared to the others. Definitely liked her snacks. She caught it and brought it home, intent on challenging her way through the family.

The fourth oldest, Stacy, wiped the floor with Sierra's Swinub. Seadra had a field day.

Disgraced, Sierra left Blackthorn for Olivine, intent on heading for Unova, until the recently changed immigration laws made things difficult. She instead headed for Alola, intent on changing her fortune when it came to Pokemon.

The Pokemon also enjoys meal time a great deal, attacking whatever food is placed in front of him with gusto. He's yet to find food he doesn't like.

Nataly is 5'7" and is a slight 116 lbs. Her northern roots show in her pale skin, contrasting with ice blue hair. The hair is cut short, left at about shoulder length and her have bangs bound with purple bands. She has eyes are deeper blue than her hair, and what could be considered a "cute" complexion.

People are surprised by Nataly's slender frame because her robes are huge. They billow out from the sides and are bulky with fluff to protect from the cold that she conjures. Contrary to her skills, underneath the robes she dresses rather revealingly, to help deal with the heat of the southern lands the Academy sit on (relatively speaking). She has a pendant with a cut piece of blue amber on it that she'll often pull out to help her focus when conjuring up her icy magics.

Equipment: Why carry weapons when concealable and untraceable ones can be crafted out of ice?

Demeanor: Nataly has been rather bubbly as of late. The prospect of finally getting promoted from Adept to Weaver has lifted her spirits in recent months, and has seen a surge in her production in classes as well as her kindness towards her fellow Hydros. You do not want to get on her bad side though. If ever wronged in any way, it's not possible for Nataly to just let it go.

History: The Andrades welcomed young Nataly into the family during a nasty blizzard in the Far Northern town of Cartaquilla, which serves as the main port for the Kingdom of Gran Helada. That might have served as a premonition for Nataly's future, but blizzards were a regular facet of life in the frozen lands. For Falco, a fisherman by trade, and Yoreli, a stay-at-home mother, the first daughter in the family after three boys was a welcome change and they doted the young girl from the moment she was placed in the buffered crib.

The first sign that Nataly might be special in more ways than one manifested when she was eleven. Yoreli opened the door to Nataly's room one morning to find the girl playing in a layer of snow, a icy replica of her brother Jaime standing guard as she made snow angels. Yoreli scolded the child for leaving the window open and letting all the snow in but the window was closed, revealing the sunny day that Cartaquilla had been blessed with. As Yoreli looked up she could see the sprinkles of snowflakes falling from the ceiling, then dropped down to her daughter, still happily waving her arms without a care in the world.

This revelation was met with fear and seclusion for Nataly, as Yoreli did her best to hide the witchcraft her daughter perpetrated. Falco paid no mind, usually out on trawling expeditions but Yoreli kept Nataly's powers a secret from her husband and he maintained a loving bond with his child. However, the snow that Nataly so willingly embraced would prove to be her father's downfall. Twelve hours after he left Cartaquilla on a day hunt for crab, one of the worst blizzards in a century struck. It paralyzed the region and trapped all seabound ships for days while the ice raged on. Worry grew with each passing day, and the prospect of Falco returning was fading. It got to the point that on the third day, Yoreli came out into the snow, searching for her sixteen year old daughter only to find Nataly standing in her pyjamas, tears frozen to her face, desperately trying to bend the snow away to open a path for her father to come back. She failed.

Without Falco, Yoreli tried to look for other paths to taking care of her children. She learned about the Academy for people with Nataly's talents, so the girl was sent packing at age 17 for the far south. Nataly was slow to progress off the bat. She still was upset about her father and did not want to conjure up the substance that took him away in her mind, but eventually the icy walls tumbled down and she was starting to get the hang of controlling her gifts. She finally passed her Adept exam at 23, and has been working hard to try and progress up the ranks. Nataly wants to get to the point where she could control the snowstorms of her hometown and at least make sure other kids don't have to lose their parents like she did.
