“I got somethin’ I gotta tellya. Later. Alone. You ain’t gonna believe this,” Graham whispered to her, all sneaky-like.
He did? Wait, what? Kitty blinked. What exactly could Graham possibly want to tell her that he couldn’t say in front of Alexis and Anastasia and Cheol and Aspen and pretty much the entire student body? Something private—
Wait. She knew this situation. The only time someone ever had to tell someone else something “in private” was… when they wanted to confess their love for the other person!
She froze. Could Graham want to confess his love to her? But— they’d only met each other that day! And yeah, she was pretty good with Pokemon puns, but… wasn’t that too soon?!
Or… could he be calling her out in order to betray her? She’d seen that before, too, in dramas! The traitorous villain met the hero, alone, behind the abandoned school building after class… and murdered him!
Did Graham want to murder her? Somehow, that seemed even worse than him trying to confess his love to her!
But surely he wouldn’t want to do that. After all… they were Pokepals! Fellow losers! Fire-forged (or rather, hell train-forged) friends!
“O-Okay,” she said uncertainly. If worst came to worst, she could run for the hills!
But, wait— where was he going? He’d pulled back and nodded at her, and now he was weaving his way through the crowd? Wait, wait, what? Why did he keep running off like that?
“Hey, wait!” Kitty said, and then remembered her manners. “I’m going to go after Graham,” she said to everyone else, and then promptly turned to try to follow the boy into the crowd.
Unfortunately… Kitty was not as talented in the art of crowd-weaving, and soon found herself unable to move forwards. Also, someone elbowed her in the face. Ouch. That would leave a nasty bruise. She could still see Graham, but—
Oh. She was an idiot. Why hadn’t she just teleported?
On that note, she promptly teleported right next to Graham, landing nearly on top of him.
Ooooh, she really did need to work on her accuracy. That had been a little to close for comfort.
“Whoops!” she said, teetering a little. “Sorry about that. Why’d you keep running off like that, anyway?”
