Bio

Roleplay Interests: Star Trek, Final Fantasy VII, Pokémon and FFXIV. Pretty much exclusively right now. Doctor Who if you can sell me on a plot idea. I am very hesitant to roleplay in an original world, because I enjoy fleshing out my characters, and a lot of times original worlds lack a lot of the information I need to effectively roleplay. I roleplay PG-13 scenarios. I'm 30 IRL, but mature themes just aren't my cup of tea in general. If you desire more, I’m open to conversation. I tend to avoid relationship-based RPs, though some of my characters are more prone to it than others. I have no control over Emet-Selch—he does what he wants.

Roleplay Style: For the most part, I can't RP a child. Which of course is entirely awkward for most Pokémon RPs, so on the whole I'd much prefer to RP a Pokémon instead of a Trainer. I also largely RP males, though I've been known to play other things. I'm also entirely fine RPing Canon characters of my preferred Fandoms, and I like to think I do a good job? You can expect two paragraphs minimum from me, pretty much universally, with no cap. Sometimes I won't shut up. That said, I try to write concise posts—meat and potatoes. Once upon a time I wrote in purple, but I really don't have time for that anymore. With certain partners I can do bursts of rapid-fire, but at that point my responses will shorten.

Contact Info: My reddit username is RhaqaZhwan. The best method of communication is probably Discord, and my tag is Ninian#3747. I have Steam which I'm always on, just because of auto-login lol. If you play FFXIV, I'm Rhaq'a Zhwan of Mateus, so if you're on the Crystal Datacenter, feel free to say hi!

Timezone: EST (GMT/UTC-5) On the weekends my sleeping schedule is very strange. Otherwise I'm up early and sleep early-ish. Unless it's bizarrely slow, I can't post at work, sorry!

Cravings: I want to play Emet-Selch from FFXIV so badly, willing to make compromises for this to work out. Romance or not, group or 1x1, I care little at this point! I'm happy to come up with a suitable plot and guide the story if necessary, I have a lot of ideas and I'm very flexible.

TL;DR INFO
  • likes Pokémon, Star Trek, Fire Emblem, FFVII, FFXIV, Hazbin Hotel, and a lot of other Fantasy/Sci-Fi nerd stuff.
  • 30 years old and counting, also married.
  • prefers PG-13 scenarios, but is open to discussion.
  • Romance is character-specific. I usually play aces.
  • Discord tag is Ninian#3747 (on the RPG Discord so you should be able to just message me).
  • posts frequently.
  • post quality tanks when RL aggros.
  • can and will play a million characters in an RP if necessary.
  • I don't ghost. If I can't continue RPing for some reason, I'll tell you. If I get really sick you might have to poke me on Discord.
  • I won’t get offended if you ghost. If you ever decide you want to RP again just poke me!

Gladion

Gender: Male

Age: 14

Personality: Strong-willed and intelligent, Gladion has been hardened by his experiences. Though cold and aloof, his rough exterior hides a kind, caring person. He is especially protective of his partners and sister, however this attitude extends to anyone he forms a bond with. With a surly and cynical disposition, it's difficult for Gladion to cut loose, even if the source of his misery has been, for the most part, defeated. Though he's been able to take losses with considerably more grace than he used to, he's still quite self-critical, and strives to become a formidible Trainer.

Hometown/Region: Aether Paradise, Alola

History: Gladion's childhood was relatively normal for the first several years of his life. His mother and father were loving, caring parents, but they were often absent; leaving Gladion and his sister, Lillie, in the care of others.

His father was the head scientist of the Aether Foundation, an organization dedicated to the preservation of injured Pokémon. However, in the interests of keeping their organization afloat, they heavily invested in their research. Gladion's father, Professor Mohn, was a cutting-edge scientist, diving into the fields of the unknown. A strange portal to another world was discovered, and even more terrifyingly, occasionally dangerous Pokémon would appear from them. The professor sought to uncover the mysteries of the Ultra Wormhole.

Before his research was completed, Mohn was lost to the very thing he studied. The Aether Foundation began their project Type: Full in order to combat the extraterrestrial threats. In the process, Gladion's mother, Lusamine, was driven mad.

Her insanity became increasingly apparent as time passed. It was almost as if something corrupted her being, amplifying her negative traits. The Type: Full project was soon deemed a failure by the Foundation (and renamed Type: Null), however Gladion knew that if his mother planned to force open an Ultra Wormhole, this project was the only chance he had at stopping her.

Breaking into a high-security lab, Gladion successfully liberated a cryogenically frozen Type: Null. However, he would soon discover the percise reason for the projects failure; the chimeric creature was driven to madness, and was volatile, and uncontrollable. Gladion was determined to prove its creators wrong, and liberate the feral Pokémon, turning it into the Beast Killer it was designed to be. Grievously wounded, but not disheartened, Gladion took Type: Null with him as he left Aether Paradise.

Gladion began working for Team Skull in the interest of supporting himself financially while finding a way to free Type: Null from its restraints. He would go on working for them as an Enforcer for two years until they made the mistake of kidnapping his sister.

Working with the eventual Champion of the Alola Region, they managed to rescue his sister, however they were not able to thwart his mother's grand scheme. Lusamine was taken in by an Ultra Wormhole, along with Team Skull's leader. With his mother in an entirely different dimension, Gladion was left with no way to stop her. Leaving a Moon Flute in the care of his newly found friend, Gladion entrusted the future of Alola to a powerful trainer.

Aether Paradise was left in shambles, and without a president. The president they had was filled with corruption, using the Foundation in ways contrary to its initial purpose. Gladion then dedicated himself to rebuilding the Foundation's core from the ground up.

Lilisette the Kirlia
[Glyph's Guild - Main Hall]

As the Flygon spoke, Lilisette listened curiously. So this is the start of day two... I wish I could remember when the attack's going to happen. I don't think it's today... maybe in a week? Still, I don't know if there's anything we can do... anything we're supposed to do...

The speech continued, causing Lilisette to withdraw further into her thoughts, That Gardevoir Outlaw... I don't understand. She's not supposed to be... there was never a mention of a Gardevoir attacking Devon? It doesn't make any sense.

Finally, her train of thought was brought to a halt when the Guild Leader called out her name. With wide eyes, she looked up at him, Oh no, we're about to be mobbed aren't we.

Upon hearing Ember, Lilisette turned to face her. "Uhh... good question. Selena's probably right, we should find Mr. Brick. Not that we'll really be able to spot him in the... oh! I think that's him over there."

Looking at her companions she shrugged, "Actually, we haven't eaten yet. We should probably grab something before training? Probably?"

Furrowing her brows at the Totodile's direct response, she let out a sigh, Just because you remember it in detail, doesn't mean it's not a dream, Devon...

With Devon's continued insistence on the existence of the note, Lilisette let out a defeated sigh. "That's a deep note, and that's wonderful, and totally true, but... I don't know of anyone named Cipher. If they..." Scratching the back of her head, the female averted her gaze, "This is going to sound really awful, but..." Pausing awkwardly for a moment, she finally took in a breath before letting it go, "Fuse is right. I don't think Cipher exists because... you know, if they were important, I'd know about them, right?"

Once Fuse departed, Lilisette spun back around, "Sooooo, you ready to face the day, Devon? It's going to be so much fun! I can't wait!"

Familiar voices could be heard behind her. With wide eyes, the Kirlia spun on her feet and was face to face with the rest of Team Horizon. "Oh yeah, this place is tiny, but it's okay! Really!" As they continued, Lilisette nodded, "Honestly, I don't really know what to expect either. Only like uh... anyway, never mind. But yeah! We were about to go."

Grasping Devon's claw in her hand, she dragged him along and gestured for the two girls to follow. I really have no idea where I'm going...

[Glyph's Guild - Main Hall]

Finally passing into the large main hall, Lilisette stopped for a moment with uncertainty. What if I was wrong...? Maybe Devon, didn't...

And with that, her train of thought halted when she heard Glyph speak.

"Half the night...?" Devon's words caused confusion, resulting in the Kirlia's increasing concern. Kneeling next to the tired Totodile, her eyes would meet his as he adjusted himself into a sitting position. "Crazy dream...? Sounds like stress to me. Are you sure you're all right? I know you're probably feeling as sick as I am right now. Man, time travel's pretty draining..." Pausing for a moment, what he had just said hit her, "Wait... note? Huh?"

Looking around frantically, she finally gave up, shaking her head, "Uhh... no, I don't see anything. Are you sure it wasn't a dream? You know, sometimes dreams can be reaaaallly realistic and stuff."

Her train of thought crashed as an unfamiliar voice flooded their room. "Oh! Yes, we're new recruits. I'm Lilisette, it's nice to meet you Fuse?" Crossing her arms she gave him somewhat of a sly look, "That's not your real name, is it. Whelp, I won't pry."

At his offer, Lillisette settled her eyes on Devon, "Hmmm, missing something? Oh! Yeah, that note that was probably totally a dream and not real anyway. Devon lost some note or something, but I don't think you can find something that doesn't exist."

THE NEXT MORNING

@Light Lord
Sitting up in her haystack, Lilisette woke up drowsy, a hand on her head. Looks like the time traveling is catching up to me. I don't feel all that great. Maybe breakfast will fix that.

Picking herself up, she gave a stretch, emitting a high-pitched squeal until she finished. "Much better..." Making her way over towards the slumbering Totodile, she knelt down, and lightly poked at his chest. "Hey, I think it's morning. Did you sleep all right?"
Lilisette the Kirlia
[Glyph's Guild - Guild Member's Quarters]

@Light Lord
"Uh... what do you mean there's supposed to be something more to it? Everyone sleeps on hay. Oh, you know what? I mean... you were a person, right? Maybe they slept on something else. Like rocks or something! Actually, scratch that, that sounds awful. Unless you used to be a rock-type... then maybe not..." Trailing off, she made her way over towards the other pile, and flopped down on it. "Oh, you like it? Good! Glad to hear it."

Laying on her back, she stared upward, letting out a sigh. "You know, I still feel really bad about making Ember go. Maybe we shouldn't go to any more dinners, not that they'd have any that big. Probably. I mean they probably will tomorrow... and the next day... but those don't count. I guess."

Sitting up, she furrowed her brows, "Did you notice that Feraligatr? He kinda gave us a strange look when we entered. I know it's not possible for him to be your dad or something, but he's really sketch. I mean like, he's nice enough? But he's totally flirting with my mom, and that's not cool. Ugh, I'm just talking in circles now, I don't even know what point I'm trying to make. Don't mind me. We should probably just sleep, I think we have training in the morning... oh and..."

Wilting slightly, she let out a sigh, "You know, something bad's going to happen soon. I don't know when, because I don't actually know when today is... I probably should've asked someone... but since you just arrived, I know it's gonna be soon. The bird lady who lives at the bottom of the tree is going to come here... Since you're not used to being you, you really need to try extra hard, okay?"

Still feeling downtrodden, Lilisette listened to Devon regale a tale regarding a friend, and a competition. Devon...? That must have been when you were human... you had a friend you cared so much about that you were willing to put yourself in such a situation...?

Ember made her choice, and Lilisette's eyes widened. Blurting out, she spoke, "A-Are you sure, Ember!? I mean... it's... it's not like we wouldn't trust you..."

Tapping her hands together, the Kirlia looked off to the side when Selena spoke, "It's... a lot more than that. All of Troupe Relm is there, and most if not all of the Guild members... it's not a small group... at all..."

@Light Lord@Shiny Keldeo
Selena's mother spoke of guildmates from long past, causing worry to furrow her brows. Pepper? I don't remember anything about him... but I mean, I guess I didn't really look into Folio's entire history. I probably missed something. Man... being in an exploration team is... it sounds so hard...

Finally, Brute intervened. Relief washed over the Kirlia, letting out an audible sigh. Phew... I thought this was a waste of our time. Selena's words also caused the formerly downtrodden Psychic-type to cheer up somewhat, "W-Wait, you do!?" Pausing for a moment, stunned, she nodded, "Midnight! Got it!"

At Devon's punch, Lilisette let out a nervous laugh, "Ehehe... y-yeah, I mean, I guess. Still though, we don't have that long. We should probably take them back before midnight anyway."

The group made their way over towards Ember's house, Lilisette reluctantly leading the charge since they had at least been there before. "So Selena... I guess Ember's scared of crowds. She said she'd only go if you went too, but... I mean, I guess we can ask? I don't want to force her to go, if she doesn't want to..." Her mood soured once more, and she stared at the ground. "You know, my mom always told me to be careful of peer pressure, and I feel like... you know. That's what we're doing. I think it'll be fun, but... maybe she wouldn't... think that..."

"I study Pokémon Mythology, yes... and of course, I teach that and a few other entry-level courses..." Trailing off, he then looked up at the man with a somewhat questioning glance. "You've never... ah, perhaps someday I'll take you. The pay? It's... well, not extravagant, but I suppose it depends on my research. That's truly what's profitable. As for the students, it would depend upon which class... the entry-level classes, I hardly interact with them. My Mythology students are pleasant company, however. They are about as interested in the subject as I am~" At his last words, a smile lit up his features, however his brows then furrowed as he watched a group of Trainers exit the building.

"Hmm... I've never been much for battles, but... that intermediate Trainer is fighting the man with a Noivern... he seems out matched. I'm surprised he accepted the challenge..." Scratching the back of his head, he continued, "We can watch, if you'd like? Or ah... perhaps we should press onward. I'll leave the decision to you. I'm fine... if I need assistance walking, I do have my Pokémon."

It didn't take long for the small girl to locate her companion. Dragging him along excitedly, she made her way over to Brent and Lily, plopping down between Ranulf's legs, and using him as a backrest. "I didn't miss that much, did I? Ohhh!" With her mouth wide open, her eyes widened as she watched the battle unfold. She was especially intrigued by the Dragon-type.

"Wow! Ranulf, he's taking all those Ice-type attacks like a pro! Can you do that!?" Looking straight up, she grinned at her companion.

Letting out a sigh, the Dragonite nodded, <Of course, you've seen me do exactly that...> Putting a paw to his brow, he took a moment before continuing, <Anyway, it's not easy to shrug off, and enough of them... it's going to add up.>

"Oh... that guy's battling... wasn't that just a novice Trainer? He's going to get..." Pausing he decided it would be best not to continue his sentence, "...Anyway, ah, I'd be interested to see what that guy can do."

Being addressed by Bryce, his face turned a bit red before he turned back around, "Where are my manners, I'm so sorry. It's nice to meet you, Bryce." With a small smile, he held out his hand, grasping Bryce's delicately in his. "Would you like to join us? That guy out there... well, he can use Mega Evolution, and he just absolutely destroyed a Metagross with his Feraligatr yesterday."

Leanne's words were less than encouraging, but at least she wasn't immediately running them off. Hanging her head, the Kirlia let out a soft sigh. Welp, so much for the dinner...

However, the Meganium's prodding pulled the girl from her thoughts. "Oh, uh.. Br...Brick? I think was his name? He's a Poliwrath, and I believe he's usually the trainer for new recruits? He seemed nice when we met him."
