If you sneeze, fart and burp at the same time your heart will explode. In fact, that's what killed the dinosaurs.

Strife turned to watched the other hunters trod off with their undeserved trophies. Those humanoid creatures, while closer to Strife's size than any of the other creatures here, posed little threat without any weapons. While Strife had no problem with killing, he followed the hunter's code, to a certain degree. He only killed for three reasons: protection, food, or if it presented a challenge. Which these creatures, singularly, did not. These Unblooded were obviously forced from the home world for wanton blood-lust.

Strife had been unblooded due to the fact that he killed another hunter. He was with a small group of hunters on a safari on a planet populated with giant behemoths. Strife was in a heated battle with one of the beasts. They had both taken a severe beating as the beast leaped on top of Strife. Strife caught the creature mid jump and they both tumbled on the ground. Strife ended up on top of the beast and prepared to plunge his wrist blades into the beast's head, when another hunter shot the best in the head, killing him. Strife flew into a frenzy. His kill had been stolen. Before the other hunter could react, strife had buried his wrist blades deep into the others chest. As the hunter layed dying, Strife knew he would be executed for his crimes. So he quickly took the ship and flew to this planet, and sent the ship flying back to his planet.

Strife continued observing the hunters. He hadn't had a real hunt in many ages. His heart quickened at the idea of testing his mettle against an adversary closer to his skill level. Something caught the eye of one of the hunters and he left the other two and walked towards a small deer, obviously injured. The hunter sprang on top of it and snapped its neck. It then went back to follow the other hunters. It hadn't planned on eating it, but killed it because it could.

Strife had seen enough of this meaningless killing. Strife jumped from the tree he was observing the creatures from and landed directly behind the hunter. It turned quickly and Strife buried his wrist blades deep in the hunter's gut. The hunter howled with pain as Strife uncloaked so the hunter could see who had killed him. It raised its hand and extended its wrist blades and started to bring them down to slice Strife in half. Strife quickly grabbed the hunter's arm, stopping it mid swing. He then took his wrist blades and pulled them diagonally through the hunter's gut and through its arm. The hunter fell back, dead, as Strife still had its detached arm in his other hand.

The other hunters turned around to see what the commotion was about. They ran back, but were too late. All that remained of their companion was a body with two large gashes in its stomach, with both its head and arm missing. They hissed at the woods as they cloaked. They began scanning the area, but Strife had already made his way back to his camp, being so familiar with this planet. The hunters looked at each other and decided to quickly leave this place.
"I certainty meant no offense." Buck said. "Force of habit. Kid and son are just little terms of endearment." Buck chuckled slightly. "Armadillo in the morning it is." With that he drifted off into a soft slumber. He awoke the next morning and looked around. The horses were by the pond and there were none of those creatures to be seen. He climbed down from the tree and checked his snares. He had managed to snag a squirrel. "Better than nothing." He shrugged.

He quickly skinned and gutted the squirrel and gathered a few twigs and small branches. They couldn't afford a big fire. Might attract some unwanted attention. As he gathered the branches and kindling he called up to Joseph. "Rise and shine mister. I'll have a little bit of breakfast ready in a few. Then we can head to Armadillo." Buck started the small fire and began to cook the squirrel. He divided up the meat evenly for them both. "It's not much, but it'll stop the hunger pangs." Buck said as the squirrel finished cooking.
Ok, cool. Not a problem.
I think since he's never seen humans before he would have no idea what they were. So he would probably just stay isolated until he figured them out.
Buck sat looking at his cards. Through the small gap between his cards and the brim of his hat he eyed his opponents. Buck was horrible at poker, but he was here for information. The man on his left was some sort of card shark, legitimately there to con people out of money. The man to his right was haggard and had a weathered face. Just some no account booze hound trying to get enough money for another drink. The man across from him narrowed his eyes in Buck's direction. This was the man Buck was after. Buck knew that this man knew something about the Blackwater Dragons and there was a nice bounty out for their capture.

"Your move stranger." The card shark sneered at him. "Call or fold." Buck lowered his card slightly and eyed the three men. In one motion he threw his cards down and reared back and kicked the table forward. The three men jumped back in surprise and started to go for their guns. Before any of them could get a full draw Buck unholstered his single action .45. He fanned the hammer and shot the first man in the chest. The man on his right had gotten his gun out of his holster and was raising it towards Buck. Before he could raise the barrel Buck cocked back and shot him in the face. The man Buck was here to question had fully raised his gun at Buck and fired. Buck ran forward towards the man and ducked slightly. The man's bullet grazed the top of Buck's hat as Buck threw an uppercut and sent the man flying back unconscious.

Everyone in the saloon stopped at stared at Buck. As Buck was pulling the man up and dragging him out of the saloon, he stopped and addressed the saloon. "They were cheating." Buck slammed the man up against the outside of the saloon wall. He awoke with a start "The Blackwater Dragon's!" Buck yelled. The man's eyes went wide with horror. "I...I don't know nothing." The man spit back. Without saying another word, Buck pulled out his hunting knife and stabbed the man in the arm. The man howled with pain. "O, ok. Ok. I'll talk." Buck got up nose to nose with the man. "Tomorrow." The man said weakly. "Tomorrow, they meet in Sam Wah's store. That's all I know I swear." "I appreciate your cooperation." Buck sneered, pulling out the knife. The man feel to the ground cradling his arm in pain.

Buck walked back into the saloon and sat at the bar. "Whiskey." He barked out. The bartender shakily poured him a shot and went to walk back down the bar. "Leave the bottle." Buck said, shooting back his whiskey. He looked towards where the card table was. It was being picked back up and the other two men were being dragged out. Buck turned back to the bar and poured himself another drink. All he could focus on was taking out the gang and collecting his bounty.

I think Douglass and Arnold will be fast friends. USA! USA!
"I'm really sorry for you son." Buck said, tilting his hat up a little to look at Joseph. "Might be some type of disease. You know, like the Consumption. You get it, spread it, then die. I'm not any type of doctor. So I could be wrong." Buck went to try and rest again, when something about Joseph made his pause. Joseph was looking down at the ground dishearteningly. The kid seemed at a loss for what to do in a world with these creatures in it. Buck felt the same way when he first lost his parents and became a bounty hunter. Years alone hunting criminals and relying on no one but himself had made him well suited for these kind of things. But not everyone had the same "luxury" as him. Joseph had a family that he had just lost and then they became these creatures?

"Hey kid." Buck said as Joseph looked at him. "If, if ya want. First thing in the morning, we can go check out the next town over. I think they have a good doctor over there. Maybe he figured something out and isn't all eaten up. Or we can check out your ranch. See what we find. I'm not really book smart. I just know how to survive, so I'll leave the planning up to you." Buck managed a smile and tilted his hat back down a bit. "If you need anything son, just holler. I'm a light sleeper and can fall asleep anywhere. So you won't bother me."
"Shit. That's what's going on." Buck replied as they got into the grove of trees. Buck unshouldered his rifle and dismounted his horse. He made a quick check of the small grove and didn't find any of the creatures. There was a small pond which Buck quickly filled his canteen and drank deeply of the cool water. He then went and set up a few snare on the outskirts of the grove hoping to catch some dinner.

Joseph watched silently as Buck set everything up. Buck checked out a few trees until finding one that caught his eye. He started climbing up until he was about 8 feet off the ground. He propped himself up between two branches and looked down at Joseph. "Get you a drink of water and shimmy on up one of these trees. It's a bit hard, but you'll learn how to sleep in 'em. I learned during my years as a bounty hunter. Most people, and it looks like these creatures, never look in trees for people. Hopefully my traps will catch us some grub. I haven't eaten most of the day." Buck leaned back and tilted his hat forward to take a nap. Normally Buck would be suspicious of anyone new, but once these creatures started arriving, he worried a little less. He figured he didn't have any food or anything of value. Joseph already had a gun, so Buck's weapons should be safe. Even so, Buck was a fairly light sleeper, and if Joseph wanted to shoot him, he'd have done it already.
Sounds good. I'm interested.
