If the Earth is flat, then how does one explain tens of thousands of people all across the globe in various space agencies not ONCE leaking that it's all a lie and everything's flat?

Bio

I'll be honest, I don't wanna put a bio up cause I'm afraid I'll scare people off by writing plainly, but not really interested in taking a bunch of time for am that formatting.

So if ya wanna chat, do send a PM!

If you're a friend of mine and wanna see the bio filled, and wanna write a truthful description of yours truly, lemme know! A description from a third party is alwayd the best kind.

Okay, if you post tonight, I'll have a nice juicy reply waiting for you.

But i is already in bed ;-;
@Mr Allen J
I got an idea for it anyhow. It should work like this!
Here's the basis:
The year is 2186, and humanity has colonized fourteen other solar systems, three of them major industrial/population centers. There are countless moon/asteroid bases, whether for mining, research, splinter colonies, or military, and humanity travels along the stars, powered by helium-3 fusion reactors, flown with the exhaustless Cannae drive, and traveling near-instantly between solar systems with tramlines via the Alderson Drive, which goes on the basis of quantum 'flux', a fictional concept for the sake of FTL.

You, the character, are either of the recuperating survivors in the Maxwell's Core B33 Special Operations Platoon- one of the multitude of Pilot-Titan groups that fight on a much larger scale than anyone else, for mobile armored superiority- or a new recruit being reassigned to fill in Maxwell's Core's empty slots. Normally working in two or three three-man teams, the Titan-laden SOPs are the backbone of quick-response offensive and defensive battles- often being the first on the scene until heavier units can arrive.

The current plot is limited.

As a member of the Interstellar Treaty Organization, you are a combatant against the Commonwealth- a newly sprung government among many colonies and one of the major foreign solar systems- and the Russo-Chino Bloc- the Russian/Chinese/North Korean alliance. As per UN order- which all Earth-bound nations honor- no combat takes place on Earth, for as long as direct military action isn't launched from there except in self-defense- such as missiles, but excluding military shipments or fleet launches.

Maxwell's Core B33 SOP is assigned to a reserve facility on ITO-controlled Mars, for the training of reassigned and regrouped platoons and companies, generally used specifically for Titan-Pilot retraining operations. During the team's retraining, however, to ensure unit cohesion, the RCB launch an attack on Mars- and, in the process, Maxwell's Core at the reserve facility. The story is set to take place with our characters getting to know each other, and then a few days afterwards, are hit by an enemy Titan-supported SOP, who are looking to secure the facility to use as a base of operations on the attack of the much longer and well-defended ITO Fleet Central Command, which is one of three nearby facilities. Defending the reserve facility would then be of utmost importance; failure to do so would mean the loss of ITO Command and its entire military structure.

This is going to be a realistic roleplay. You can't charge straight forward at an enemy Titan like you would in the game, unless you're heavily armored; otherwise, you would fall very quickly.
@Mr Allen J@Gisk

Do you two mind that, amidst the crowd of weirdos, Alexandra runs by, recognizes Audrey/Jasmine, and decides to see what's up?

Like, you know, Jasmine leans in and says, "I can hear heartbeats," and Alexandra just sorta pops up with "Woah. I think I feed off people's energy" and surprises the both of them.

If that's alright- I figure it might be hard to differentiate friend/foe/weirdo in the midst of all those people, and thus could 'sneak' up on them.

I'm asking in this case so it's easier for me to write a post, instead of having to go into more detail onto how she stumbles onto them, you know?
@FallenTrinity
Roger that.

Stay safe, and good luck.
@Gisk
Alright, that'll do.

Is it alright if I post now, or should I wait for someone else to post?
@FallenTrinity
Okay?

I'm saying a bunch but you're not responding to all of it?
@Minato Namikaze Please, I beg of you, press enter every time a different person starts talking. That post is a nightmare to read.

Aye, this about sums it up @Minato Namikaze. When there's a different person speaking, one is supposed to start a new paragraph. That, and it's just really hard to tell what's what when there are two or three different things being said by different people in the middle of a paragraph.

Alexandra Bell

~ The Night Before ~

It was strange. She had been puttering around her room- one of the few times she was really alone, when she was at home getting ready for bed- when she just felt a sudden weirdness around her. It wasn't quite nausea, but something similar. And she just, all of a sudden, felt so tired. It wasn't that she was drained, but just an absence of energy. It wasn't large or anything, but enough to be felt, and it was just so sudden and immediate.

But she shrugged it off- what could it be? She wanted to sleep anyways. If it persisted tomorrow, she'd tell someone about it.

Having eased her own mind, she finished getting ready for bed, snuggled under her covers [with her Simba plushy], and went to sleep.

~ Morning ~

She woke feeling terrible. Like, absolutely drained, as if she had run around the block a dozen times (which she did do, once). She didn’t have a headache, and she wasn’t nauseous- she just felt so low, and terrible.

Ten minutes later, though it felt more like thirty, Alex found her way downstairs, blearily trying to wake up and shake some energy into her bones. She managed to pour herself some cereal, and sit down at the table, but she just wasn’t into it today. The cereal looked as appetizing as… well, as appetizing as Cookie Crisps always were, which was actually pretty appetizing. She loved the cereal. But she really didn’t feel like eating it.

As she forced her way through a fourth bite of her favorite cereal, she slowly felt some life coming back to her. A moment later, as if by coincidence, her mother entered the kitchen/dining room, dragging her feet much like her daughter. However, she seemed alert enough, unlike her slightly jealous spawn.

Walking up behind Alexandra, she wrapped her arms around her shoulder, and hugged Alex.

Sleepily, she asked, “How’d you sleep, my Alex?”

Without really waiting for an answer, she disengaged and stumbled to go get herself some cereal. Her husband was the one that was up in the morning all ready to go- mother and daughter were often slower and sleepier.

But not this morn- while her mother didn’t really feel anything, Alex felt like she’d just been jolted with energy when she was hugged. She didn’t feel super excitable, of course, but she felt much more like herself. Not entirely sure what to think, she shoved another spoonful of Cookie Crisps into her mouth- she didn’t even have to think about it, now- as she tried mulling it over.

Absently, she replied, “…Unwell, but I’ll be okay. I think I’m gonna go for a stroll after breakfast.”

She needed to think. And find one of her friends- she didn’t feel like texting them, once again. She just wanted to run into someone.

She was mildly concerned at how her own mood was troubling her.
@FallenTrinity
Helium 3 is what I'd suggest.

He3 can be mined in the first few meters of top soil on the Moon, and can likely also be found in Jupiter and Saturn; as a fuel source for no-waste, clean, low-danger nuclear fusion reactors, He3 could be stored in relatively small amounts for a very long run time.

The few companies or nations that make an effort to extract He3 would find their potential for everything so much greater- with He3-powered reactors and the advent of the new Electromagnetic Drive (which provides exponentially higher propulsion than everything else we have now, without exhaust, without fuel, just electricity), then 'capital' ships could truly be a thing. Lasers, railguns, and all sorts of electricity-heavy items would suddenly be very feasible and achievable.

We've got all the ingredients here.

Mining facilities and Helium 3 storage facilities would be among the highest of targets- securing them from the enemy means the difference between an infinite war and one where one side is slowly starved of fuel and resource.

Although, I think this would start off slowly.

What if, say, our players- their pilots and their Titans, both freshly out of boot camp and off the assembly line, are going out for a 'run' outside of their base, where they're stationed until they're assigned to a ship or another base, when it's attacked? Maybe from there, we can go on with the rest of the story, whatever it may be.

And if we're going to be writing a bunch, sure. Casual/advanced, either way works.

Unfortunately, it appears that being realistic and logical turns people off.
