Okay so since the main family the RP will be following is from the South I felt like asking who all is actually southern.

*Raises hand* born and raised in North Carolina just above the South Carolina border. South is best place to be in my opinion.

I was wanting to be a son of whomever the mother was gonna be. Seen as the grandpa is 70 I was assuming the mother would be in her 40-50s

Wow, do people have their kids really young where you're from?
If the mother's in her 40s and she had her kids in her 20s, that would mean they are now in their late teens/early 20s.

My votes:
Religion - I'm Jewish myself, so I'd prefer it if we weren't super religious as my knowledge of religions other than my own is minimal. That said, my opinion on this isn't a strong one. If everyone else wants to be Lutheran or something, I'm cool with it.
Political - Being that this is a white American southern family, I was thinking conservative.
Social Class - Can we be broke? Please?
Last Names - Something that's common in the South. Calhoun, Dale, Williams, Smith, etc.
What Family Member are You - Depends on whose perspective. He's the mother's sister's kid. Based on the accepted characters, Linus is Robby's grandson and Forrest's cousin.

Thanks! So @Zi, what are your thoughts about a family name?
Technically we'll need 3 family names: One for the kids and the parents, one for Robby (as he's from the mother's side of the family) and one for Linus (Since his last name would be that of the mother's sister's husband).
All this is assuming we're following the European custom of taking on the male spouse's name.

Self-Conscious: Linus is still a bit too young to have a fully developed self esteem. He's fairly blind to his own faults, but at the same time he doesn't think he's better than anyone else. On some level he does understand the concept of social status and that some people are liked better than others, but he's not quite sure where he fits into that system. Again, there's a lot of cognitive development that he hasn't completed yet, so he hasn't made many strides in judging his own character.
Family feelings: Once we have some accepted characters, I'll start adding to this.
Affiliation with family: The mother's sister's child. Cousin to the kids, nephew to the parents, grandson to the mother's parents, no relation of father's side of the family.

If we're allowing extended family, would a nephew/cousin be allowed?
As I myself am 13 and not particularly adept at playing older individuals, I was thinking between the ages of 8 and 14. That's usually the range I'm comfortable with.
Also, are we going to establish the wealth/financial status and religious/political beliefs of the family?
