Weapon: The Axe of Caldeyron - A magical, one-handed axe that protects its wielder whether he/she likes it or not. Its current known powers of protection includes: increased strength and slow and minor healing. It can return to its owner's hands by disappearing in a red, ashen glow and reappearing via the same effect. This power requires the owner's will but will do so involuntarily once the owner becomes unconscious.
Fighting Style/Powers:Jack has no discipline in particular other than flinging himself at the enemy and hope for the best. And by 'hope for the best', we mean he will use his above average strength to try and pummel his opponents into submission. He also knows of various grappling moves and techniques, all of which were acquired during the years. He will also use the environment in his fights if it is available and convenient.
Despite the above, any trained warrior is faster than Jack. To compensate, Jack uses his lack of pain feeling (lost when his body deformed) to try and absorb enemy attacks to catch them by surprise or at least put them in a disadvantageous position. However, he could only do so much until his the body part collapses and becomes limp. Heavy-enough impacts will also make Jack recoil and not absorb the attack.
Jack also uses the axe but if the situation calls for it, he will resort to his, relatively, faster hands.
Searching For: Owner of either Soul Edge or Soul Calibur. To challenge his/her in battle and perish once and for all.
Personality:Due to his body deformations, Jack does not speak even if he wants to. His appearance invites fear and hostility but Jack in reality, wishes no harm upon others and prefers to do his business in peace but he is not afraid to step up and stand for the oppressed and victimized.
However, his circumstances force him to act aggressively and if he is attacked, his axe will force him to defend himself, giving off the impression that he really is violent.
Background:
The Lumberjack is not actually a lumberjack. Not now, not then. He is actually a Chadwick Swanson, an English small-time philosopher and sometimes literary teacher. Until an unknown disease struck his home town and ended his family and friends' lives. His grief made him accept death's cold embrace. Death did embrace him, just not permanently. Chadwick awoke when others did not. Many people thought it was a miracle, despite the severe deformations to his body, but Chadwick thought otherwise.
He researched and researched until he was definitely sure that a family heirloom, a lumberjack axe, was the culprit. The axe was not normal, or at least it was no longer normal. It had a spell bound to it: The axe will do its best to protect its owner, either by healing him or taking control of him if he is in danger. A blessing to other people but a curse to Chadwick, he wishes to join his loved ones in the afterlife. He also suspects that he may still have the disease and may spread it unwittingly.
With those in mind, Chadwick began to travel to find someone or something to kill him permanently. He never found out how the previous owners of the axe met their permanent end but he did find out that legendary weapons like Soul Edge and Soul Calibur existed, giving him hope that these weapons can fulfill his last wish in this world.
