Thanks Snarfulblast! I appreciate it. I like your character sheet, Ves. Just a heads up I will be using the power of telekinesis.
Okay great can't wait to see your characters! @Snarlfulblast He wasn't always a bear though. The abilities start appearing in later years of his life. I'd like to know more about his background and maybe more about his personality. My advice is wait for some others to post their character sheets and try to follow their example because if what you're giving me now is a reflection of how you will write in the RP, I'm not so sure that I want to accept it. I'm not trying to be mean but it honestly comes off as if you spent a couple minutes on it and that's not fair to everyone else. The bottom line is I'm asking for more effort. Please PM me if you have any questions. I'm here to help. :)
I'm fine with that. I'll just have to remember that the people here might not get what I'm trying to say through my posts.
What do you mean by that? I'm afraid your CS needs more detail. Wait for someone else to make a CS. Mine will be up later tonight so you can get an idea and see how much effort everyone else is putting.
Sorry used to just rping with friends.
That's okay! If you like really laid-back rping maybe the free-roleplay is better for you. However, the casual role play involves a bit of effort if that's alright with you.
@Tyrant from the West we can squeeze you in if that what you mean @Subject Zero Okay I'm fine with that! Thank you for explaining!
@Snarfulblast Hello! I'm sorry would you mind putting a bit more effort into your CS? Maybe start with beginning sentences with the character's name so instead of "Came from..." put "Lucas came from..." I'm not trying to nitpick but it reflects how you will write in your IC posts and if you're going to be a bit lazy with the CS I feel like your IC posts will be in the same manner. So please, more details to it and make it at least decently grammatically correct so I can trust you to post IC.
Deep within the middle of no where in a classified area of the United States lies an academy unknown to most of the world. Its students are nothing like you can ever imagine. They possess qualities no other students in the world will ever possess. TV shows, comics, and movies all portray the idea of having superhuman abilities as a gift. Those who have them are regarded as "heroes" and "villains." In real life, regardless of what damsel in distress you help or what mayor you save, you're a villain. Traces of the X21 gene began surfacing in 1970. Dozens of unexplained occurrences began appearing in the news. Children everywhere were seen doing things no one could exactly explain. The government soon got to the bottom of it. All news being reported on any of these happenings were to be destroyed, all newspapers, any TV reportings... Everything. They didn't understand why certain children could do these extravagant things. They didn't want to understand and they sure didn't want the country to know about these freaks of nature. These children were dangerous. In the sneakiest of ways, most of these kids were annihilated. They made their deaths look like accidents and no one questioned a thing. Those who weren't were taken into labs and experimented on inhumanely to find more about these strange abilities. It was eventually concluded these mutants were not classified as humans and leaving them alive and in public could endanger the human species. It was for the good of society that a secret military force called the X force would be made to quickly find and dispose of these mutants before anyone could find out about their abilities. A select few people felt differently about these mutants. They felt that it was not their fault they had these abilities and could be taught to conceal them and control them. Thus, a secret academy was created in 1990 in an unnamed location in the woodland area. Their goal was to find people with these abilities before the X force did and bring them to their school for protection and to teach them to control and conceal their abilities so that they could safely live their lives in public. They found that the gene was inactive until a mutant's mid-teens at the least. Currently, in 2015, the ages of the students have ranged from 14-24. A student's normal education continues here along with the ability training however a student will remain longer if he or she cannot master his or her ability. Many remain in the school as faculty to ensure a safe life. Those who master their ability and the ability to conceal it are allowed to live on the outside, knowing very well if it was to be used at the wrong place and time that the X force would detect it and come to annihilate them. The X force has some of the best technology in the world available in order to detect mutants. Thankfully, so does the school along with some very special abilities that can be used to track mutants. However, there are always those who feel they shouldn't have to hide anything... There have been some students lately who feel wronged by the treatment of the government and even this school. They feel that they should be allowed to embrace who they are and use their powers freely and that if society were to know of their existence, they might even be accepted. These ideas tend to spiral down a dark path for some students. ABILITIES: These range from mind-oriented abilities to even elemental abilities. What seemed impossible can be possible. Telekinesis, mind-reading, telepathy, even shape-shifting... All suddenly possible. Elemental abilities such as manipulating the fire, the light or the wind are also possible. However, most people need to have the essence at hand to use it and it is not easy to control at all. There have been rare instances of people sprouting wings from their back or other animal-like qualities but these people are often quickly terminated due to being easy to notice. No one knows why this is all possible. The government permitted very limited research as to maintain very little interest in the mutants. The goal is eradication, after all. RULES: - NO god-modding - No arguing - No speed-posting - Put some effort in CS and in your IC posts. IC posts at least a paragraph or two. It makes it more fun for everyone. - Cursing is okay but please if things get too steamy when it comes to romance, cut to black or go to pm - Stay active... meaning don't just disappear for weeks. Don't join if you're just gonna leave right after. If you're going to be busy for a long time just let me know! :) - Don't kill someone without their permission. - I want to limit the ability to one but I might squeeze in someone with two if you convince me the 2nd isn't that strong or if you want to be a villain. I love challenging villains. - On that note, don't be afraid to make one! An X-force member, related to one, related to a government officer, some rebellious kid who goes rotten... All for it! FORM: Name: Nickname: Gender: Age(Most people don't know they have the mutant gene until their teen years. However if you insist on being that one really young kid I won't mind): Brief Personality: Ability: Limits to Ability: Age admitted into Riverwood: Background: Appearance: Other:
Okay I think this is enough interest :) @Subject Zero uhmm it depends what are the two powers? http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/76876-riverwood-academy/ooc
@Mogwar yes! @Nuttynad not everyone has really incredible skills. I mean with any skill it's gonna take time to anything that incredible with it since upon its arrival you're gonna have to learn to control it first.
Interested, but do you have some idea of a plot? Or would this be more of a open world? I ask this not to be rude or offend anyone, but I have been running into some trouble with current RPs with these problems.
Yeah I do have a plot in my mind. I don't intend on just a nice little school rpg that's for sure. There's going to be trouble. The whole idea of being taught to hide your powers and go out in the world and not use them is bound to make people tense.
