Things changed when her father got involved in unknown work and started hanging around less and less at home. When he was home, he and their mother would argue often over the secrecy. They were very close to threatening divorce at each other right around the time before the disappearance.

He's often calmer than Emma in situations but if pushed to a point, he can unleash a temper like no other.
Brief History: Alex often involved himself in football and even ran for the school government, keeping himself well-known in school. He was well-liked for being a nice guy and always being humble. There were many times that he had to get Emma out of trouble whether it had been due to her pranks or her temper. He grows to be quite protective over her especially after the disappearances. I'm interested. Maybe just stay with a more supernatural theme and have supernatural creature hordes be the cause of the billions of deaths. The zombies feel out of place.
