His parents were rich, and from a young age he was constantly surrounded by the LA and Hollywood lifestyle that the media tended to glamorize much to his detriment. His parents, while financially supportive of him and his medical bills, were extremely emotionally distant and the second Rex was able to make it big as a musician, he cut contact with them entirely before they could exploit him for money. Now, he overcompensates his insecurities and flaws with overperforming and aggression, burying himself into his work ( glam rock/metal, rockstar excess, money, ect. ) even at the cost of any potential relationships... his band or otherwise. Stranger Things RP [ OC x CC, 21+, FxM ]

Hey! I'm looking for someone 21+ to write a retelling / slice-of-life RP that would take place a few months before Season 4 of Stranger Things and then leading into Season 4 itself, a bit rewritten as to incorporate and account for my OC.

I specify this since I do ship her with Eddie Munson and I am looking for someone to write him for me! I can easily write other characters should they come up, I just ask for the same effort! I ideally write 2 - 3+ paragraphs ( and I can do more depending on the situation and if more substance is needed to push the plot forward, ect. )

Given the nature of Season 4, a lot of mature and dark themes would be present for this RP- we can discuss the limits, what we want out of this RP / general outlines, where things could go, ect. But ideally, I would like for this to result in a happy ending for Eddie, and maybe we can also extend the RP itself to a post-Season 4 life where my OC and him are content and safe! Depends on where we want to take things and how plotting goes of course, I'm down for anything.

General Outlines:

Rebecca Hooker, a senior transfer student from Queens, New York, she’s got bright blond hair and she’s a shameless casual punk with a nose piercing and ear studs. She moved away from New York to escape severe bullying about her height, last name, and the way she dressed on top of her bisexuality. She used to date a ‘King of School’ type of guy but he broke up with her publicly in a humiliating way because of her sexuality being outed back in Queens.

Her younger twin brother, Robert, defected to the jocks to save his own skin and his betrayal hurts her. He bullies her to save his own status.

Rebecca and Robert have a little sister, Rachel ( black hair, blue eyes ), who’s the same age ( 14 ) as Mike and his gang, who’s not involved in her sibling’s drama in all of this. Rachel has a crush on Dustin. She’s nerdy and rambunctious and has some attitude.

Personality wise, Rebecca is closed off and harsh and cold as a cover to hide her soft, hurt, insecurities. Playing up her rebellious and punk nature, happy to be snarky towards her bullies and the teachers but keeps herself closed off due to the hurt inside. She has a habit of sucking on lollipops and chewing on gum. Habitual weed smoker. She was forced to join cheerleading by her parents to conform, which also provides opportunities for her twin to harass her.

Backstory:

Rebecca and Robert were born to Samuel and Roberta Hooker on December 27th, 1968 in Queens, New York. For the first 4 years of their lives they’d been inseparable, as twins they did most things together and shared a room with one another. They were sweet kids, Robert loving animals and playing sports, while Rebecca happily trailed behind him. The first time they began to show signs of individuality and separation was when their younger sister, Rachel, was born on April 17th, 1972.

Rebecca immediately connected with having a younger sister and the abrupt distancing from him made Robert feel a bit bitter, especially since he had no idea how to connect with having two sisters. So while they were still loving siblings to each other, Robert was the one to begin distancing himself from Rebecca as they grew older and they started sleeping in separate rooms.

It’s when they reached their teenagehood that the rift became more apparent, Robert wanting a place to belong, began to hang around jocks and joined sports teams in high school that had him being influenced by the asshole jocks and often enabled them in order to fit in. All the while Rebecca had been exploring her identity, her queerness, and her newfound love of punk, rock, metal and New York had a massive scene for such things. Her parents didn’t exactly approve of their daughter being the opposite image of what a typical suburban teen was supposed to be, but they didn’t say anything about it either as Rebecca was a lot more subtle and in the closet about it all. The music spoke volumes though.

Rebecca at 15, had figured out she liked both girls and boys but was too scared to have her private life be known in a time where queerness and nonconformity was typically sneered at and worse. So she dressed like a suburban teen girl, dated the high school ‘King’ in Queens, and kept her taste in music to herself for as long as she could. But rumors quickly spread, and Rebecca began to panic. There was no one that could have known about that stuff unless it was someone who had access to her private journal… and it became abundantly clear that Robert, her own twin brother, had something to do with it.

Robert wanted nothing to do with the potential fall out, so he distanced himself, joined the bullies in mocking Rebecca for their family surname ( Hooker was a low hanging fruit after all ) and kept himself distant from the ‘freak’. The bullying and isolation got bad enough to the point where Rebecca’s breakup had been public and messy, the humiliation burning hot enough where she stopped going to school and started dressing more punk, more herself, and had gotten her piercings and began openly listening to her taste in music. Due to her avoiding school attendance, she was pulled out, but the damage had been done. Her parents were furious and so hoping for a fresh start, they decided to move from Queens, to little rural Indiana in hopes that Rebecca would get through her ‘phase’ and go back to being the conforming daughter they’d expected her to be… Good grades, college applications, ect.

So Rebecca Hooker moved to Hawkins, Indiana in late 1985 in her senior year, where she didn’t even bother or pretended to conform, living her life as an open freak who embraced every part of herself while her twin, Robert, was still trying to placate and fit in with the jocks and doubled down even harder on bullying Rebecca in fear of how the jocks in Hawkins would react to their history and reason for moving.

Despite the initial isolation, Rebecca eventually finds her place with the fellow freaks and outcasts, thanks to the King Freak himself, Eddie Munson. They eventually become best friends and she develops feelings for him, though too scared to lose the one person who understands her she decides to withhold her feelings to keep their friendship as is despite desperately wanting more but being afraid of being hurt again.

I do try to be consistent with my replies, though they will slow down a bit when I'm trying to come up with something substantial that you can work with, so please be patient! I do write off-site ( mainly discord ) but I can write here as well if that's what you prefer, you'd just have to show me the ropes since I'm a little new to this site! Hello! Nero's introduction!

I am Nero (27+) and I have been just about writing for 15 years now, which is absolutely mindboggling to me. I originally started roleplaying on sites popular in the early 2010's if it gives you an image of how I first started out, but I've long since evolved my style of writing that's more suited to immersive RP. But now I crave something more long term, something in between casual and something more prose that scratches that niche writing preference of mine!

To make it simple and blunt, my style of writing consists of:

• Native English speaker.
• Third person exclusively!
• Occasionally flipping between present and past tense.
• 2 - 3 chunky paragraphs but capable of writing more depending on my writing partner's preference!
• Longer prose requires more time to come up with something substantial to work with.
• I tend to write a lot for starters due to exposition.
• Long term writer! I love slowburn + worldbuilding! It makes the payoff much more satisfying!
• I tend to write romance and angst.
• Usually a fandom roleplayer, but I can do some original plots if it's appealing to me.

As far as what I look for in other writers, here are my list of preferences:

• Writes in English, good grammar but doesn't need to be perfect.
• 21+! This is non negotiable!
• Enjoys plotting out in detail and developing our ideas and characters beforehand or even during the RP. Generally likes to keep things immersive and not afraid to ask for clarification on things so we can be on the same page!
• Communicative!
• Makes an effort to match my length / gives me substance to respond to!

Now, when it comes to my most interested RP fandoms, I have a whole wide arrange of what I'm into. I'm into writing CC x OC ( my biggest draw here, I'm very shameless when it comes to my OCs and their canon interests ), CC x CC and if I find the right chemistry I don't mind doing OC x OC! But I vastly prefer CC x OC and CC x CC. Regardless, here are my fandoms that I've written for before, with the few I'm most interested in writing being highlighted:

• Rockstar Plots ( Romance / drama / angst. heavy rock / metal focused. Groupie x Band or Bandmate x Bandmate )
• College AU Plots ( Slice of life / drama. Stranger x Stranger or Best Friend x Best Friend )
• Light Fantasy ( Slice of life / romance / drama / angst. Could be sit in established fictional worlds or even our own or just a generic setting. Knights, princesses, elves, ect. )

That's about it when it comes to roleplay preferences! Like I said, I'm more inclined to fandom stuff but I have a broad and wide range of fandoms I'm into so I hope it at least catches one of your interests in one way or another!

As far as interests and hobbies go, I'm a writer and artist, I've been drawing longer than I've been writing but I've really begun a deep appreciation for books and fictions and RP is one of my favorite hobbies with how immersive and collaborative it is! I'm utterly obsessed with music ( mostly classic rock / hard rock / metal, ect. ) and I hope I can learn to play my guitar proper one of these days. I also enjoy playing video games, they've been a huge staple in my life and I have a broad taste in video games as well!
