Bio

Welcome to my Bio, random person. Yeah, my name is pretty redundant (Polaris - North Star, North... well north.)

Things you need to know about me?

I live in the Philippines. I'm a student and life gets a bit hectic so please understand if I suddenly become more sporadic when it comes to replies.

I'm involved in a lot of fandoms (mostly anime) and as long as it gets my interest, I'll join. My range is from free to casual [or well, as long as I can get it from the post I'm replying to]. I'm more of a fantasy kid than a slice of life but I think I can join something like that. I'm not much of a romance writer so I keep myself to PG-13 and not exceed anything else.

Forest - ???
Hiroko had traveled for only a few seconds before she saw two figures. And from what she could see, they were at least human. Better than encountering a bear or something far more dangerous in the woods, at the very least. She decided to come closer and see if they had any idea of what was going on. Even though they may be the people who had thrown her in here - which was highly unlikely as they look just as confused as she was - she might as well ask to see how she can get out. She huffed out her smoke once more and then crossed her hands behind her back, bringing the cigarette out of sight as well.

Before she could even speak, the other girl had beat her to it - questioning who they were and where were they. Her lips formed a thin line. So they were definitely not the ones who placed her in here... and they also didn't know what was happening. Great. At least they could all be lost together. Three heads are better than one, though even she wasn't sure how well they'd fare in something like this. "Ikazuchi Hiroko." She replied, letting her arms fall down next to her as she felt an itch to take another drag, but avoided it since she didn't really want to piss them off thanks to the smoke. "As for where we are, my guess is as good as yours."

Hiroko had turned briefly to the male who was still in a dazed state. She couldn't blame him. Even she needed to stop and take a cancer stick just to calm herself down for the moment. When the girl had gone out to take her phone, Hiroko thought that maybe they'd get lucky and be able to get out of here without having to put up too much effort. She had a job tomorrow, after all, and she'd rather not miss it. But alas, it was not to be. "Unfortunate." She muttered under her breath before looking around. "Well, I don't think we'd do much by just standing around here. Maybe if we can find a river, we can find civilization." She suggested to the two, giving them both a brief glance as she awaited their decision.
Raviel Husk

Raviel had not known what had happened. He had always been used to this flash of darkness whenever he teleported. To the untrained, teleportation was jarring and would take them a few moments to get their bearings. Raviel did not need those anymore. But this time, it seemed like he never got out of the darkness. Or at least, it was taking too long. That was when he figured out that something may have gone terribly wrong in his teleportation. Spatial magic has always been kind of iffy and dangerous when not handled properly - every magic is - but this one would sometimes end the user in between a wall.

He sharply took in his breath as his eyes fluttered open and saw that the nurse was looking over him. Oh. He was unconscious. The nurse had given him the official say that he had indeed lost. Raviel couldn't help but roll his eyes at himself. He hadn't gotten as far as last year but he guessed he couldn't do anything about that. "Yep, I'm fine!" He cheerily said as he sat up. Raviel felt like he needed to get a few more rest time. "Ahhh, thanks. See you again next year." He said with a wide grin.

Seleth's voice made him snap to attention and his head swirled to her. He crossed his legs as he sat there, gazing at her. Ah, so she felt like he let her win? "Trust me, I was serious about winning." He said seriously. For once, his voice was devoid of his usual cheery and joking tone that he usually had. "I didn't want to win like that. For a tournament, that would have been a really low blow. Even if I had won, I wouldn't really feel it since I didn't really plan on doing that." He told her, intertwining his fingers together. "If this was a real fight, I wouldn't have gotten off. I know that much." This time, he was grinning and he was easing back into his old persona.

He stood up, waited for a moment as he swayed and he took in a deep breath. "Accept the win Seleth. I'm gonna cheer for you in the next rounds." Raviel said with a thumbs up. "I'm fine. Just really tired. Those shadow balls sapped most of my mana pool when I teleported."

Faye Nisval

Faye watched as the other beastkin had charged in. What a good person. Now she was hoping that she could get out with a single sample in hand. She kept her focus on summoning the continuous winds and was just as surprised as Enishi when explosions were added to the mix. The fire had been fed once more and if anything, it may also have been breaking their samples. That Keith person probably was still in there. What a fearsome mercenary.

The explosions created had debris falling onto Tirbus. She scowled as she saw this happen. Faye was surprised when Enishi gave the idea of aiding both Tibrus and the beastkin inside, but she could see the reasoning behind it. "As you wish. Hold on for a few minutes alright?" She said as she took the talismans before running to Tibrus. She tapped her fan against it and the debris would blast off to the side, not to harm anything again.

Faye then looked inside where Keith was continuously firing his fireballs. With a quick glance at Enishi and a nod at Tibrus, she charged inside - letting out another strong gust of cold wind mixed in with Enishi's stronger spell to expel the fire near the entrance to avoid other boxes from suffering the same fate as their burnt bretheren.

Faye attempted to send a strong gust of wind to Keith to at least make him stumble back so he wouldn't be able to cast another spell so quickly.
Alex looked to her phone when it suddenly rang. She looked over the message and smiled. It would seem that Jess and Brian were hanging out at a nearby cafe and they were inviting her over, just to have a little chat and maybe finally catch up after days of not getting to hang out - thanks to Brian's detention spree and now Alex's own plans of going straight home or straight up disappearing at some times.

She looked towards Bella. Well, she was pretty sure that the rich young girl wouldn't be allowed to spend more time outside than what school would allow to. She wanted to invite the young girl and maybe get her to talk with some more people. Now that she thought about it, Jess and Brian never really got the chance to talk to her so it should have been the perfect opportunity.

Had it not been for maybe a curfew on Bella. And the fact that she's younger than them and people might think they're a bad influence on her. They do have top one delinquent and top one gossip girl... well, couldn't hurt to try right?

"Hey Bella, Jess and Brian's at the cafe and they invited me to come over. Do you want to come?" She asked, letting her hand with the phone hang in between them. "Of course, if you can't, I'll just walk you home and hope that you're available next time."
Well we were posting in rounds so I assumed it wasn't my turn yet.

But please be aware that I'm in the middle of school life and my posting had lessened to one post a week. But I will try.
Raviel Husk

Raviel had just gotten out of the lock when he felt something pulling him down. He looked down to himself to see these shadowy orbs which were locking him in place, and no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't move from his kneeling position. Perhaps he had mistaken this tournament for something far more noble. It was his honest mistake, and he will admit that he did not expect Seleth to just keep him pinned down after he had tried to just continue it fairly.

The beastkin tried to struggle once more to get out, but obviously the magic was too strong for him to move physically. He saw Seleth make her move - grabbing her lance and then making several other lances. Raviel narrowed his eyes at her before forcing his body to teleport out of the way. Even if it was just a little bit out of the way. He didn't know how taxing magically it would be since he was teleporting both himself and getting out - or taking with him - the shadowy balls of magic that kept him pinned down.

Faye Nisval

Faye gratefully took the other beastkin's hand and was pulled up. She let out a huff and dusted herself off. "I apologize for nearly blasting you off with that guy." She said, pointing her closed fan to the still rising mercenary. She may have put a bit more magic than she should have into that. Whoops. Well, everyone makes mistakes, even for someone as old experienced as herself. She hadn't spent nearly her entire life training only to be accused that she shouldn't be considered a master of the magic of wind.

Enishi had approached to question the stranger's intentions which was quickly met with a dismissive answer and an inquistive question. The investigation, as far as she was concerned, was a secret and Faye didn't have any intention of just telling anyone of their mission unless Athos specifically allowed them. However, it would not hurt to employ just a little bit of her skills for a short period of time. After all, Tibrus was engaged in his own fight. "Ah well, you see, inside the warehouse is-"

She was rudely cut off by the screaming opponent. She had realized much too late that the trajectory she had launched him was not straight - and he was now falling onto the warehouse. Faye had made a desperate attempt for him not to land on it by releasing a gust of wind, but it had missed and the mercenary crashed through the roof and to the ones inside. A growl emerged from her lips, though so low that the humans of the group couldn't hear her frustrations. She was unsure with her fellow beastkin, however. Minutes later, the warehouse was up in flames and Tibrus' opponent had fled and they still had no evidence.

Enishi was the first to react and began weaving an ice spell to quell the flames, but it was not enough. A smirk pulled up to Faye's lips when Enishi suggested they combine their magic. "Exactly what I was thinking." She planted herself near him and opened her fans. She began moving - raising her hands up quickly before making intricate and precise movements before pointing both fans towards the warehouse. Wind magic began to intermingle with the ice energy. Her wind had already been cooled to the best of Faye's ability and now it should be able to help stop the flames long enough for someone to get inside.

"Indeed." She had replied to the stranger through a strained voice as she continued to keep the stream of wind going. "Just a crate or two will work. Anything... you can get in there." Faye would have been more than happy to run into a burning building, but if she was going to continue the chilly wind she was producing, she had to keep still until it was finished.

Forest - ???

Hiroko had lived a rather normal life since her graduation from high school. Sure, she was living alone. Sure, she was living in a rickety apartment. And sure, she's barely getting by. But at least it didn't have the craziness of her earlier life where she had to deal with so many other things - like her mother and her drinks. Though, she often still thought that maybe she could get out of that kind of lifestyle. Maybe she could get into some college after a while. It was a far-off thought and she was pretty sure that it wouldn't happen, but at least nothing crazy will ever happen in her life again. She was just a cafe worker and a newspaper girl. What could possibly make her life more exciting than it currently was?

So when she opened her eyes, she had expected to stand up, get dressed and head to get some newspapers. She was not expecting to wake up in a forest.

She had sat up and paused to look at her surroundings. Everything seemed real enough, and it didn't seem like she was having some sort of bad dream that involved her being lost in some forest. Hiroko then turned to herself to see what she had been wearing. And indeed, she was in her clothes that she had crashed into bed earlier - a green parka and a black shirt and pants. She patted herself down and felt that her 'essentials' were still there.

"Okay..." She muttered to herself as she stood up and dusted herself off. Hiroko had surveyed her surroundings yet again before a grumble was released from her throat. "Now where the hell am I?" Obviously, she was in a forest. But where? And how exactly did she get here? She was pretty sure that she did not have the capability of sleepwalking. And even if she did, it seemed like a far fetched idea that she had walked all the way to a forest without anyone noticing and waking her up. It was ridiculous.

Taking a stick of cigarette, she lit it up and took a drag. Obviously, panicking was not going to help her. She can't say that she had gone through worse, but she could still reign in the weirdness. All she needed to do was get back to civilization - maybe meet some others along the way - and then go back to her old, regular and boring life. Seemed like someone just wanted to play a practical joke on a bunch of strangers and she was unlucky enough to find herself as the victim. Or... no, that also didn't seem like it was possible. After all, who would have the resources to kidnap someone from their home and then throw them into the forest - all the while them not waking up?

"Get out now, speculate later..." Hiroko muttered to herself as she began walking, unknowingly towards her future companions.
Raviel Husk

If you had asked Raviel what had happened in these few minutes, he wouldn't have been able to tell you with a straight face - or a straight answer.

What was originally his attempt to get away ended up with him on top of Seleth. And he wasn't even planning on doing that. It was like the next thing he knew, he was falling - body first - onto the ground and hit some soft and lumpy object - and not the ground he was expecting. It took him a moment to get out of the effects of Seleth's magic so he was entirely unsure what had hapepend until she spoke up.

"Hey, at least this time, it isn't entirely my fault." Raviel said. He could feel Seleth trying to push him away but was falling short on they physical capability of being able to push him off completely due to his size. Raviel got off of her quickly enough - being the one on top - and then spun around to summon back his bo staff to continue the fight. He wasn't going to be dishonorable enough to strike a person while they're down.

One of his shortcomings, of course.

Faye Nisval

"Impressive." Faye couldn't help but say as she watched her opponent dodge her attacks. Well, at least she knew her opponent's capabilities - but unfortunately, she still didn't know how much the armor can protect against magic. But whatever, she needed to focus on this fight. Really. She'd get her ass handed to her if she continued to-

"Hey!" She yelped when Ragnar tackled her to the ground - effectively pinning her under him. She smirked when he raised his arms, freeing her arms as well. Faye pointed her fan at him - the end glowing bright green - tumultuous winds waiting to be released. She was about to blast him into the air when she heard footsteps.

And it wasn't Enishi's or Tibrus's.

A hand stopped the axe from coming down. "I suggest you let go!" Faye quickly shouted as the magic released itself - sending a gale of wind upwards - hopefully connecting with Ragnar's chest with the close proximity. She had only hoped that her fellow beastkin would be able to let go quickly. But if she were to be blasted upwards as well, it would be a simple task to bring her back down without harming her.

Marvin seemed to react somewhat when Mr. I-have-too-much-energy-for-my-own-good called their resident odd mercenary who lets out Latin phrases 'Julius'. Though it was more of a positive reaction - a smirk pulling up to his lips. While he didn't live during the Pre-War time, he did live through a time when the books haven't been seized by their respective groups. It was back when people weren't interested in things like that. And honestly, Marvin just happened upon some educational books - as well as some fiction books - back when they were still in the trading business. Before his parents died.

And Julius Caesar was a man he had read in passing. He was a leader of the Roman Empire from way before - Emperor, he was pretty sure their title was. Death by being stabbed multiple times by your 'friends' was such a way to go. He knew that there were those who followed the teachings and methods of the old Roman Empire, but he never really did have any open talks with them. At best, his interaction with them was exchanging bullets so that he could get out of dodge.

The ghoul adjusted his hold on his rifle, out of habit really, when Short-Fuse acknowledged his musings. Marvin still wasn't sure if he was pissed off at the guy or genuinely amused by him, but he responded. "Don't jinx us kiddo. If we ever encounter them, I'm blaming it on you." He said it in a good mannered fashion. Marvin would rather not show open hostility. There was enough of that with the others. So he figured he should go with the 'chill' route and just let things happen. They'll have to resolve tensions soon anyway, he shouldn't add on it.

He followed them up, stopping short of the area which was being pelted with acid rain. The hiss of acid against cement reached his ears and his mouth formed a thin line as he shifted unsurely in his spot. But nevertheless, he knew that they would need to get from cover to cover. Or at least, he did. He wasn't sure how much his own skin would fare against elongated amount of time under that. Marvin wondered if the hazmat suits could take more than normal skin. After a moment of looking at the rain, he turned to the others to ask for the next order but saw that they were entranced by the wall of vehicles.

And really, it was a sight to behold. Though, Marvin wasn't going to stay there and marvel at it. He wanted to get to cover soon, and not out there in the open where those winged lizards just made their kill. Who knows when they'll come back to look for more. The Talon leader spoke - describing the wall as something that doesn't keep things out. He turned to Prism and saw her move forward and raise her pistol. Marvin's arm jerked but didn't speak - their Paladins already moving and talking for all of them, conveying their thoughts. The sound of the gun going off was deafening for him and, like Khaliya and Jeremiah, he raised his rifle to the skies.

A beat. Two.

Nothing.

He sighed in relief but he saw the wall. Electricity. A field. Oh. Oh. And just as timely, other Power-Armored people came to their sights. Three hulking figures came into their view. And he could clearly see the crest. He knew those. "Well I'll be..." Marvin was not the best person to ask about the Brotherhood, but he knew the Lyon's Pride crest well enough. There wasn't a soul who didn't know about them back some years (had it already been a decade? Marvin wasn't sure) ago. Marvin had encountered them before - their leader had been agreeing enough to work with the mercenary back when they needed the help. 'Course, they didn't exactly know that he was a ghoul since he was wearing a gas mask and hid every single feature of his to make sure that he wouldn't be discovered. But at least it wasn't that bad.

"So this is where the Pride's been since Lyons passed..." Marvin muttered to himself, though it was loud enough to be picked up by his own teammates if they were close to him. Made sense for them to be thrown out to some wasteland since Lyons had a very different way of doing things than Maxson did. Marvin appreciated Lyons' ways. But hey, life goes on. People die. People are killed. That's just what happens sometimes and you just can't stop it. He cleared his throat as he looked at the others. "Are we gonna talk under this rain or can we get to some good shelter like - oh, I don't know - the bank?" He suggested, giving the small group of three a passing glance. He did not want to stay out here in the open and be interrogated.
Raviel Husk

Raviel had not known what had happened as his teleport failed and he was sent stumbling to the side. His conjured pole staff disappeared as well, giving the notion that he was, indeed, too disoriented to keep up the magic. But he had recovered and turned to Seleth only to get taken by surprise by the flash of bright light. All he needed to do was get out of there, and he had already gotten a feel of the arena. He quickly jumped backwards and attempted to teleport away.

Faye Nisval

Faye nodded at Tibrus once he relayed their intentions. She should be able to handle him. If anything, it would be up to her since Tibrus does seem to be a support type but at least he could fight. She rose from her crouching position and then took out her fans, spreading it with one swift motion. This man seemed to be skilled, however, which made her more alert. She can't let him get the upper hand or else it would be over.

So she took the first action and sent three sharp crescent winds that would be able to knock him (or make him stumble) before following it with two spears of condensed air - sending it towards him. Time to test out what that armor can do to protect him.
