Writing is a fickle process. Sometimes you're not sure what to put down, sometimes you write way more than you ever intended.

The SlakKing of Phenac!

Phenac City | Pre-Gym Entrance
Interacting With: @Yankee

Glad to see the others decide to get a move on instead of battling outside, Noel took a second to start walking again. To the point where he ended up following after the new guy instead; Only to pause in his progress as he heard something approaching from behind. Turning his head curiously, he noticed a strange small, red & round creature approaching the Pre-Gym. He'd never seen a Pokemon like that before; Today was turning into a pretty unique experience for him. He wondered if it was a wild Pokemon by chance, though didn't exactly feel like catching it himself. Watching it trip and roll forward, he eyed it closely, unsure of the effect it'd have. As the creature perked right back up and ran in circles, the boy found himself getting tired just by staring at the ball of energy. What had the little fella so excited?

That's when she appeared; Red hair catching his gaze as she made her way up the stairs. If not by just color association, he assumed the Pokemon was hers. Yet another new face... Justy was in for a hell of a time with all these trainers coming in. At this rate, they'd tire out all the regular trainers and he'd be forced by Justy to actually partake. Just the thought was enough to make him reconsider walking in, but if he ran off now, that'd be irreponsible. For all he knew, she wasn't here for battling. Looks could betray the mind; For all he knew, she could be here to talk to the scholar side of the Pre-Gym. He had his doubts, though.

"Heya." His greeting was... Mediocre, but being loud wasn't exactly his forte. He was much more relaxed and carried a calm tone with him instead of shouting. He shifted the Komala in his arms so he'd be able to wave with one hand, a small and simple smile on his face.

"You looking to challenge the trainers of Phenac, too?" He questioned, eyeing the building momentarily before looking at the red-haired girl again.

"I'd suggest heading in, if so. Already a few foreign trainers looking for battles. Don't want 'em hogging all the fun, right?" He went ahead and made his assumption on her reason for being here, his smile curving into a small grin. The Pre-Gym was really about to be put to the test today, and it worried him a bit. Though he tried to be welcoming, as that was what they were all about: Welcome every new face, and accept their challenge. Win or lose, appreciate the experience as a learning one. The essence was practice: Victory or failure, there was always something to learn. No matter how good you might be, there was always someone better.

Noel's own path to improvement was something he usually ignored. Maybe seeing all these trainers could motivate him a bit... Maybe that thought came from the rule of 'things that come in threes'. There might be something real to that idea.
