Personality: It is not difficult to believe that HK's primary function is assassination theory and the execution of said theory, most of his thoughts and time is devoted to the consideration or action of combat, murder and assassination. When it comes to any sort of issue that needs resolving, HK will remind everyone he is with of his function, and suggest the most violent action available as a solution.

His behaviour core is designed in such a way that gives HK a rather black sense of humour. He is a very sarcastic individual, and regularly makes humorous and sarcastic comments inbetween making suggestions and requesting to shoot whomever might be annoying him at any particular time. He makes no effort to suppress his opinions about people, except his master. HK is however exceptionally loyal, and he lacks the capacity to ever betray his master or their allies.

History

The Reason You Chose The Side You Did: The choice of which side to join in the war was not exactly up to HK himself to make. He has no particular alignment to either side, instead sparing his loyalty for the individual who serves as his master. HK happened to be found and reactivated by the Rebel alliance, rather than the Empire - and as a result has served with them over the Galactic Empire.

History: Constructed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems roughly a year before the outset of the Clone Wars, HK was based off old assassination droid designs, and created primarily for the purpose of assassinating key officials within the Republic throughout the war. During the war, HK performed admirably, assassinating a number of Jedi Generals and Commanders, along with numerous high-ranking Clone officials. Much to his dismay however, the clones were easily replaced.

His most successful operation in damaging the Republic came toward the end of the war, when HK took part in the assault on Coruscant. While on Coruscant, HK was tasked with assassinating as many politicians as possible, an easy task given the location. While HK was relatively successful in his efforts, he was eventually forced to retreat after the Supreme Chancellor was captured. Fleeing the world aboard a stolen transport, HK left the system but was shot down before he could rendevous with his handler above the planet of Dathomir. 

Deactivated in the crash to preserve his body, HK remained deactivated throughout the brief rest of the war, and through a number of years under the fledgling Empire. Late into the Galactic Civil War, HK was discovered by a Rebel team led by Luke Teth, after finding the droid and its records aboard the transport, Luke took it upon himself to repair and reactivate the droid. HK now serves under Luke, and as a result, serves the Rebellion and New Republic.
