We need to round up anyone we can and bring them back before someone takes notice!" Sodalite walked briefly around. Maybe Carn would have some information as to what was going on, but this Kindergarten was much, much louder than she expected.

Sodalite wasn't the best of friends with Carnelian, or Carmen, as she liked being called, but Sodalite believed that they got along well enough. Sodalite was more of a friend to knowledge than actual other gems or people, even Aquamarine, but that didn't stop her from having a goof friendship with them.

She then looked to Emerald standing behind her. "Emerald, can you please use your eye-lights to help me and Carnelian here look for more young gems? All of this activity is sure to grab someone's attention, and we need to get you out of here before you get hurt."

Yeah, but it works, in the steven universe way that it does. People are theorizing that because they're both quartz gems, they don't need to dance to fuse and synchronize, especially after as saw Jasper force-fusing with Biggs-monster. I just think that they're already so synced that they don't need to dance, and plus that was a hug of raw emotion, nothing can beat the power of love and friendship

So, for the appearance and general aesthetic, I like to think of it like this. The Crewniverse loves their symbols and metaphors, and that applies to everything about the fusion. The fusion is an amalgam of whoever is participating in it, but also their own person entirely. While I was put off by the extra half arm in the beginning, it made me realize the differences between Amethyst and Steven. Their fusion, appearance wise, is almost perfect. The only abnormality is the extra arm, and I think that's because, while Steven and Amethyst are so similar in so many ways, how they handle their problems can sometimes be different, their actions differ from one another in some cases.

Garnet, the same thing can be said. Nearly perfect, but sapphire and Ruby don't always see eye to eye. Opal? Calm, kind, and a straightforward thinker, she knows what she has to do, but also knows what other options can be taken to achieve the same goal, the same can be said for Sandonyx, but added with the fact that Ganret and Pearl don't always have the same goals.

Fusions seem to be a combination of X and Y, but also taking the newly found Z and adding that to X and Y as well.
