Current Man, I remember those last few statuses sounding funnier when I was writing them... Is this what aging does to people?

I eat negativity and shit out hopes and dreams. Like a tree, but for pessimism.

Good news, I'm not failing out of my cooking course tomorrow! Bad news, it's only because I nearly sliced a chunk off my finger practicing for it and needed stitches.

It's days like today that I truly believe this ADHD is both a blessing AND a curse.

Aye. Only real change is the event is kicking off somewhat.
Jazz night is goibg to be a exciting one.

Well, I hope my first post was good enough to earn Joseph a few interactions... And, you know, not get him murdered in an alleyway somewhere in the city.
Joseph wasn't entirely sure how he'd ended up in Swan Song. It seemed like a nice place, but it probably wasn't the best place to be when, if he were to be a masochist and open his wallet again, he'd greeted by lint, an old, torn bus ticket, and maybe a quarter, if fate would even let him have that much...

In the end, he just sat down at a table by himself, slumping over it with a groan. It was getting to the point where his stomach was beginning to legitimately hurt, and it grumbled in protest of the notion that he would, once again, not be eating that day.

Just for context, by the way, this was day five of following this particular routine.

Glancing around the place, he noticed a few people who ended up standing out from the faceless masses his hunger-dulled mind had reduced most people to. People like that one white haired girl, whose skin somehow seemed to be just as white, and that... Japanese, maybe? Oh well, that possibly japanese girl who seemed to tower above the height of most Americans! Of course, they all might just have been his collapsing mental state exaggerating features that, in reality, were only slightly different to a normal person.

Still, the music that Max guy was singing was pretty nice...

When he stopped singing, however, and a man he could only assume was the owner of the place began to speak quite angrily about a few rich people or something like that, it was decidedly less nice.

However, as soon as the people he'd apparently been talking about got onto the stage, he decided that it was probably all warranted.

Just looking at the clothes they wore, particularly the white-haired one, made him look like a waterlogged rat in comparison. Then again, he was wearing the same torn up coat and cargo pants he'd worn for the last week, so even normal people made him look pretty bad though. Still, what they were wearing was just over-extravagant in... Well, almost every way he could think of, honestly.

The fact that one of them looked like Fidel Castro if he'd eaten the rest of Cuba's population didn't help matters much either.

Still though, all of their visible problems paled in comparison to when they opened their mouths. It actually made him want to throw up, and if not for the fact that their was nothing to throw up to begin with, he very well might have.

Just like before though, while Cuba the Hutt was bad, the one with the white hair was even worse. At least Fidel had the decency to talk like the trashy idiot he was. White-hair though, he had the nerve to try and talk as if he were an intellectual! He had the goddamn audacity to defile the English language like that and try to use big boy words to make him self feel superior to everyone else! As a writer, using words like that made him sick!

And if not for the fact that he was terrified even of simple social interactions, let alone the confrontation voicing his opinions would start, he may very well have said it to their faces.

Unfortunately, it was only thanks to the expressions of some of the patrons sitting on nearby tables that he realised he essentially had.

Because apparently, he had practically been shouting everything since the 'Fidel Castro eating all the Cubans' joke, and almost definitely loud enough for the people in question to have heard every. god. damned. WORD.

Looking around the venue, his eyes widened slightly.

"Ah." He said simply, not entirely sure if there was anything else he could say.

And then he looked around again, before standing up, making his way to the exit, and doubling over in pain as his stomach practically screamed at him to feed it.
Nice, I'll get to work reading up on what's been happening in the IC then!
Well, here's my app. Tell me if I need to change anything.

CS Sheet

Name: Joseph Moore

Age: 20

Appearance:

Height: 180 cms

Weight: 93 kg

Likes: Anime, gardening, cooking, games, reading, writing, most forms of spirits, the occult.

Dislikes: Wine, Beer, social interaction with most people, confrontation, himself.

Zodiac Sign: Scorpio

Special Talent: Joseph is a surprisingly good cook, a talent that comes from living alone for a few years now, wandering the country and doing what he can to make the food he scrounges up somewhat edible.

He is also a decent writer, keeping several journals filled with stories from his travels, often adapted into a fantasy setting.

Profession: Unemployed, and technically homeless. If you were to ask him, however, he'd probably say he's a wanderer, like Kenshin. He'd then immediately hide his face and shy away, realising he'd just tarried to talk about anime with a 'real' person.

Bio/Personality: For pretty much his entire life, Joseph has been a fairly withdrawn person. He never quite managed to get the hang of social interaction, and he had an annoying tendency to miss a lot of social cues.

This got to the point where, by the time he was fifteen, he had only ever had two friends, a pair of sisters who he knew when they were all kids. They managed to be friends for a good six years, before they moved away to somewhere across the country. After they left, he all but gave up on talking to other people entirely, retreating into the magical digital world of games, anime and writing. Things were going great, right up until one day when he was sixteen. What changed, you ask?

Well, his parents died. Car crash.

This led to a problem, in that back when they got married, it wasn't exactly with the approval of either of their parents. In fact, according to the stories they told him, it was with very adamant disapproval. Therefore, they did something that, in their minds, was the obvious choice, and ran away to the other side of the country to elope. Honestly, Joseph could kind of see his grandparents points, considering that his mother was the only child and 'heiress' to an honestly ridiculously wealthy family, his father was the son of an abusive heroin addict of a mother and a father who quite possibly didn't even know of his existence, having disappeared before his mother even learned of the pregnancy, and they were seventeen and sixteen respectively at the time of their escape. However, it also led him to a problem.

He was still a minor, and the government would probably try to place him in his richer grandparents care. He'd seen enough anime to know how they may very well see him, especially considering how they apparently saw his dad.

And so, out of fear of being put in the care of resentful grandparents, combined with the less than stellar mindset you tend to find yourself in when both of your parents have suddenly been stolen away from you, he did the only thing he could think of at the time.

Ask uncle google what you would need to survive on the road, gather it up along with your important keepsakes, and run away from home.

For the next four years, he traveled all across America. He managed to make enough money to not starve to death doing odd jobs, usually helping out on farms and the like. However, he still remained fairly withdrawn socially, never connecting with the people he helped in the way he would have liked.

Now, he has arrived in Sol city, wondering if perhaps it might be a nice time to stop wandering.

Your character's favorite song: Going Home, from Bleach.

The following is not required, but we strongly encourage you to at least put a little something. In the past we have found that when players get to know each other as real people, not just as names on a screen, it helps the longevity of the game. Seriously, please get to know your fellow players.

Tell us about yourself:

*Your age:
21

*What part of the world are you from?
Australia

*How many years have you been writing/roleplaying: (if you're on your first year, that's totally fine too)
Well, I started around January this year, so I'm still kind of inexperienced compared to a lot of other people I've met.

*How often do you have time to post? (this is just a general, honest question, no judgment)
Gonna be honest, it kind of fluctuates. Sometimes I'll be able to post once a day, or even more, and then other times a full week will pass before I can get to it.

*Anything else you want to mention? What you do for a living? How much do you work a week? What do you enjoy doing besides writing? Put as much as you want.

Honestly, I don't really know what to say. I'm currently looking for a job, but don't have one at the moment. I'm dreadfully shy in real life, so that makes it a little difficult. Apart from writing, I don't have a whole lot of real hobbies. I guess martial arts and cooking could also count, but I haven't cooked in a little while.
So yeah, not really a whole lot I can say...
I'm also curious if there's room for more people in this, because it looks like a fun one.
Bringing peace? That's exactly why he'd have to do it, to show everyone it's not impossible. Also I like the characters who have to fight through massive odds to achieve their goals.
Hey, I'm interested in joining, but I'm not sure where I should have my character start off. Where do you guys think a wandering mage/spearman whose entire goal is to create peace between the numerous factions of Abbaden.

Also, alternatively, are there smaller wyvern type dragons in this world, because I didn't see them in the creatures section of the lore, but I reckon being a wyvern rider would be fun.
Hi everyone, I'm Rabidporcupine, a clear example of what happens when a person lets their degeneracy overtake their humanity. My most well known feature is my encyclopaedic knowledge of anything related to anime, and the fact that its pushed out any knowledge that could actually considered important for my survival. Well, that and the fact that I don't know how to entertain people without ruthlessly insulting myself...

Anyway, now on to the important stuff. I'm new to this site, but I've been taking part in the RP forums over in Nationstates since just after the beginning of the year, when my computer broke and I desperately needed to find something other than Crusader Kings to entertain me. Over there I go by the me of Granis. I tend to enjoy fantasy stuff a lot, but I've found that I honestly seem to enjoy just about everything I join.

Other than that... Well, I'm not sure. I enjoy writing, which I guess is kind of a thing with most people who join RP forums. I use to write a lot more actual story type things, but like I mentioned before, my computer broke. I even wrote a fanfiction, which starts off garbage and doesn't get much better.

Still though, I'm excited to join this and get to know everyone! It looks like fun!
