@Reflection I was thinking swords and muskets anyway, maybe firearms if it's more modern

Flintlocks where the most advanced thing at the time. We can discuss weapon stuff later when you hash the idea out more.

My idea for a hero was a guy with the power to communicate with insects and improve them. Also he doesn't age.

I like that idea. A good start. Not sure about that last bit, but I'm sure there is a reason for it.

May I create a Water Elementalist Pirate

I have a pic already

We'll discuss this in more depth once the power level is made more clear. I like the idea, but it could be restrictive depending on how the setting goes.
This seems interesting, might have an idea for a hero that can create/summon weapons

Keep in mind I'm still deciding on the period. At the moment I'm pondering near the end of the baroque period, somewhere around 1750. So summoning a nuclear weapon is kinda out of the question.

I could have a good ol' crack at it. I could probably even use the powerset of an old character I'd like to recycle: HIGH-POWER THINKING.

Depends primarily on how that works. I may need some examples, since having 2018 tech in 1750 would probably be a bit... Well dangerous. Depending on how this ends up evolving.
Out of curiosity, is this mostly OCs, or are there Sonic characters being reinterpreted into certain roles. Since this is clearly inspired by the Sonic Story Book series, it seems that most characters are just going to be reinterpretations of characters from 1001 Arabian Tales to begin with.
Hey, we're back. I'm plotting out some details for a bigger announcement post, but it's good to hear there is interest in historical heroes.
Hopeful boosting.
@Delta44 Yeah Delta, your music isn't available. Got stopped by sony.

It was true. Vader's glassy gaze was terrifying. In truth, the way it seemed to gaze into a person, and then beyond them at the same time was so... Tangible. Silently, the lord of sith stepped towards Khyrr. Strange how something so big could even dream of moving silently. And Vader was big. He towered over others, and the black silhouette of his form made just the way he moved larger than life. Until he finally stopped, letting his shadow smother Khyrr. The only sound was his breathing. Long, deep inhales, followed by the chilling gasp of an escaping breath.
"You have talent." He said, breaking the long silence. "It's a shame you have chosen the wrong side in these events. But... I can offer you a way out of your current life. The rebels here have shown themselves to be zealots. Fighting to the death if they could. But you were attempting to flee. That means you value your life above a meaningless cause and some trumpeted dream of r-"

"Don't listen to him! That sick bastard would cut you down in a se-" A rebel pilot shouted at the top of his lungs, and was silenced in a crescendo of gunfire. Lasers searing his body to a crisp, and letting it fall to the floor. His attempt to do something with his life ended before it could matter.
"Rebels so willingly throw their lives away. But if you choose to instead work for me, I can offer far more than they can, and all I require from you, is a call. Once daily. If you become my spy amongst their midst, my wolf amongst their bantha... Why you may prove more valuable than a whole deal of others to me." Vader's gaze never changed. Not that it could. But it was clear. Denial meant death. Agreement meant selling his soul to the devil. Choices, choices. "You have five seconds to make your choice." Vader hissed, and the sound of charging plasma rounds made it clear. 5... 4... 3...

We know the stories of Hercules! We know all the greek myths of gods and goddesses. Of men who could carry the sun on a chariot! In the far north the heathens believe in a wolf who can swallow the world, and the celts believe in witches! Are you so shocked to hear these tales? Of how Hercules completed his trials? How Poseidon raised a sea from dirt! Of how the Morrigan cast a curse upon men!?

Then you will be shocked all the more to know that these are not myths. No. Super humans exist. These timeless entities who grace our comics do not just originate in paper. But in real events.

The premise, so far, is a superhero story, set in a historical period rather than modern day. Instead of a suped up car, Batman would be riding in a horse drawn carriage. Or the Hulk would be a gladiator. We'll be creating heroes for this period in history.

At the moment, I am looking for somebody with experience in a hero story to be my Co-GM.

EDIT: I'm open to different time periods. Nor is the goal to limit superpowers. Essentially, any kind of power you can see in a modern Superhero story is viable in some way in a renaissance period. You can even make power armor clockwork in design if you want. General goal is to open up heroes in different time periods.
