@Crimson Raven Would the 'new area' be a town or just another field with something different in it? I assume it'd be another field, but with less boars and more ... large animals.

Also, Raeki is also pretty reckless in combat, I'm sure they'll get along just fine
@Crimson Raven Shucks. I guess this won't work then.

Also I'm going to make my character interact with Araris, if you don't mind. She's moved onto the next area as well.
I get the feeling that we should make a giant skype group for everyone here so we can just ask if someone wants to interact. BEcause skype is a little more instant in answers compared to a forum!

I'll keep my next post open ended for someone to join up with Raeki!
@NightmareInd

I'd imagine that characters can use this whilst moving. Just to add some extra 'flare' and fluidity/pace to fights. Longer spells would require the user to stand still though.
@NightmareIndI don't quite remember how magic worked in Alfheim, it's been quite a while since I seen it, though I know or at least think I know how it works. Also what kind of spells fall under arcane anyway?

In ALFheim, players had to say parts or words from a language to complete the full spell name before casting it. So for example, 'Yol' means Fire. So that can be used for a basic fire spell. Adding things to fire like 'ball' (so fireball) is 'Yol-gram', thus casting a fireball spell.

@NightmareInd

Alright, I'll keep that in mind for next time I use magic (Which will most likely be in the next fight post :P)

EDIT: I assume that this game is pretty much just ALFheim set in Aincrad now? Minus the flying.
Gathering Boar hides was quite a mundane quest to begin with, but since the combat was so different from other games, it was far more than just a fetch quest. She had decided to actually do the quest rather than hum to herself as she continued to test the vocal systems. Spotting a lone Boar, she focused energy into her hand, conjuring a floating flame from her left palm. She unsheathed her sword in case the Boar closed the distance after her magic. She used a throwing motion with her left hand, flicking the fireball at the Boar, hitting it square in the side. The spell had caused a decent amount of damage, about a third of it's health. She quickly flicked her eyes to check her MP, nearly all of it was used to power that spell. "I figured as much.." She muttered to herself as she prepared her sword for close combat. But what she didn't know was that the Boar has a Charging attack. The boar galloped at her, catching her completely off guard. She barely managed to block the head on collision, but it threw her back, causing her to stumble and take some damage.

She clicked her tongue in disgust. Did she really just get hit by such a telegraphed attack? She was probably just too distracted with her Mana usage. Oh well, all a learning experience. She chuckled to herself. The boar came in for another attack, but this time she was prepared for it. She swiftly sidestepped the headbutt before focusing her energy into her sword, planting her foot into the ground and she pushed forward, impaling the boar in the side of the head with her glowing red sword. A critical. She grinned at her luck, a random critical at this level? Hardly ever see that.

As the boar shattered into tiny polygons, the loot popup appeared suddenly, showing her the loot and exp she gained. She dismissed it, before looking at her HP bar. 1/5th missing. She shrugged, walking back to town to turn in the quest items. She figured that she might be able to find more spells in the next town, possibly upgrade her sword too. As she walked back to town, she rethought her fighting strategy. Casting magic at the start of the fight was a fair idea, but she should probably follow-up with sword skills to try end the fight as soon as possible. It was risky to play that way, but you don't get rewarded if you don't take risks, right?

Good point about the spell list, but to get extra effects on a weapon, you need to get an advanced forgery skill. To get an elemental weapon, you need to have an even higher forgery skill, and I'm thinking about the rule that you can only make elemental forgeries with the magic you choose as your starting magic.

What I meant by imbue, was an 'during battle' imbue the weapon with an elemental magic as an attack or buff
I also forgot to mention that you can't learn spells easily: You start with a beginner spell that comes with the magic you choose, and get new spells from tomes which you can get from quests, certain shops and rare monster drops. Also remember that you can get drops from monsters that you don't need for your class, which means you got to either sell or trade it.

On that note, I assume it'd be (more) difficult to find tomes that teach you how to imbue weapons with elemental magic?

EDIT: Also you may need to make a spell list to detail what kind of spells people actually start with.
Sooo how is post order going to work? I've never actually Forum RPed before.
