"This may be the only way you'll hear it for a long time." She responded with a smile of her own. Alya was caught by surprise when Ortha decided to try eat the fur hide, but sighed in relief when Rilana was able to snatch it away from the maws.

When asked for whatever came with the fur, Alya hesitated for a moment before nodding, pulling the small shard out of her pouch and handing it to Rilana. She was afraid of the effect it would have on her tired friend. However, she was glad that the mindspeak was working with the Moon Fey. It was a little odd though, it didn't work before. Alya didn't dwell on the thought too much, being grateful that it was working now. Everything was so much easier now that she didn't have to keep writing on a piece of paper every time she wanted to speak with her friend. Perhaps it'll work on Trix too.

The half elf couldn't help but chuckle a little as Rilana tried to make sense of the poem. It was a strange message indeed. "I'm not sure if the riddle is that literal." Alya said in a light-hearted tone, over hearing what Rilana was saying. And I'd rather you didn't try to.. She thought to herself, a small feeling of sadness in her heart. If Rilana was the Hare... She didn't know if she'd be able to handle the death of a friend.
It seems her act wasn't enough to deter her assailant. Megumi fell to her knees before crumpling to the ground when the Justicar slammed the flat of her blade into the half cat's temple, since the blade was rather thin, the edge cut into the side of her head, but thankfully they were only superficial.

Her vision flashed white as she fell, she saw more justicars come from the door she was originally headed towards. The only thing that went through her mind was that she was about to die, and there was nothing she could do about it. They'd all find out that she was a half-breed and she'd be executed on the spot. That fucking barkeep.. would've been a thought that crossed her mind, if her mind hadn't faded into unconsciousness.

--

Megumi slowly opened her eyes, a headache pounding away at her skull. Her vision was met by a dark room, it took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the light level. Dark, damp stone all around her. She tried to move, only to realize that her wrists were chained to the wall behind her. She pulled at it in futility, the chains clinking softly as she gave up.

Her gaze moved to the figure of a woman in front of her. Sammeh. That look on her captor's face, a face she knew all too well. It reminded her of the way people looked at her as a child in Azure Strand.

The woman was right, she should be glad that she's still alive, but for how long? Probably not very long. Her employer..? Her eyes narrowed at the woman as she was shown the coin that she received from Jakobi. There's wasn't much she could say, it didn't seem like the Justicar was lying at all, as far as her senses could tell. Megumi couldn't help but think that all of this was Jakobi's doing, the god damned asshole.

A kiss was the last thing that the half cat expected. The kiss had no passion, no emotion. She felt the woman slip something into her mouth when she used her tongue. It was thin and metallic.. And mostly uncomfortable. When Sammeh broke away from the kiss, Megumi almost immediately pulled the thin piece of metal out of her mouth. It tasted disgusting after all. Thankfully the chains were just loose enough for her to take it out of her mouth without straining herself too much.

Megumi's suspicious gaze never left the justicar until she had left. She observed the small metallic object that Sammeh had put in her mouth...It was a lockpick. She stared at the lock on her cell, but first thing's first, to get the chains off.
Panic took hold of her as the Giant challenged Rilana to a duel, one where she wasn't given any time to react. Everything was happening so quickly, Alya didn't really know what to do. But she felt relief wash over her as the giant was stopped by someone else. Another giant, a woman who strolled out from the large wooden gates. The half elf didn't expect the giantess to be so articulate, then again, Alya hadn't met a giant before, let alone 'spoke' to one.

As they walked through the village, Alya felt smaller than ever, but it was natural. She was shorter than the average person and these giant's were.. well, obviously much larger. She smiled in amusement as she noticed Echo trying to resist the urge to play with the smaller giants and animals. She was surprised to see those kinds of animals playing with them, usually they were wild. Then again, Alya couldn't really comment on it, since Echo was a Dire wolf.

She wondered if the village was built here just because of this massive cave. It sounded quite similar to the way people settled villages around rivers and lakes. Makes sense.

Her attention was diverted to Echo, who had rushed ahead, finding something buried in the snow. It was a piece of fur. Or so she thought before a small blue shard fell out of it, it looked similar to whatever Svarak's sword was made of. She walked over to Echo to see what he was playing with. She picked up the shard, as mistake she wished she never made. The feeling of dread and doom rushed into her body, it felt like it was trying to suffocate her. The power she felt was overwhelming, unstoppable it would seem. She dropped the shard, her body trembling a little.

Echo, as always, noticed his mother's reaction to picking up the shard, but there was nothing he could do other than put the hide on top of her small, trembling hands. Although still shaken, she picked up the piece of fur, only to find strange markings on it. She couldn't read any of it. Perhaps Rilana could read it?

She slowly got up, putting the shard into her pouch before jogging over to the Moon Fey. As she did, she heard a rhythmic beat coming from the cave. Not a dull moment when travelling through caves it seems. She handed the fur hide to Rilana, attempting to use her mindspeak on her again, "I'm not sure what this says, so I was wondering if you could read it.." She said, her voice resounding softly with a melodic voice that you'd expect from the small half elf. "..And I can hear a rhythm deep in the cave, like a drum. I think we should move with more care." She added, glancing at the rather pleased knights.
I'll be posting tomorrow-ish. Have Mavi finish destroying everyone~
Ahmal could see the younger fairy's slightly redden face as she failed to conceal a blush. Or rather failed in his mind, considering how often he saw such expressions, especially around this time of year, but he didn't think much of it. Although, the adorable smile that she returned to him made his heart skip a beat. Maybe something for the medical report. Of course, it wouldn't be as amusing as it seemed in his head.

He made no move to avoid the girl as she pushed a flower into his hair. He returned a grin as he accepted the bouquet, "Thanks." He replied in his usual soft voice. He'd never gotten one before, but it was a nice gesture. In the back of his mind, he knew that this was a little odd for a 'professional relationship' that they needed to abide by, perhaps he needed to dial back on the enjoyable 'back and forth'.

He listened to her usual spiel as he put the flowers in a small vase, placing it onto a window sill near the door. Mentally, he checked off the list as he usually would. 'No' was a resounding answer to just about all the questions, but he could think of a few funny things to respond with. Those may come later if he was to... succeed at something he was apprehensive about. "Everything feels fine. My wound has healed up quite nicely." He replied in a placid manner. "Thanks to you." He added with a warm smile.

He realized that this would be the last time they had to see each other, unless he was to injure himself again. It was a sad thought indeed, but it was part of her job as a physician. She had no reason to come back here if there was nothing wrong. But this was possibly the best and only moment to ask.

There was a small silence that hung between them after his answer. His heart beat faster as he mustered the courage to say something to break the silence.

"If you don't mind me asking.." He began, it was obvious that he was getting nervous about something, which was quite uncharacteristic of him. He took a somewhat deep breath before continuing, "Would you... Would you like to accompany me to the Equinox Ball tonight?" He said finally. He could feel his heart pumping hard. He hoped that she didn't misunderstand anything. He was sure that he said it right... right?
Nemu confirmed careless.

Nemu

For the most part as they had moved to the exit, he ignored whatever the wolf had to say, because all he could really hear was 'blah blah manners blah' and really nothing else other than complaints. Nemu did, however, appreciate the apple that was thrown his way, only to drop it when a fox girl cried next to his ear causing him to flinch.

He sighed. More canines, more noisy people. More more more. Please. Do keep them coming. I love this. He thought, the sarcasm strong within him. "I am Nemu." He replied blankly to the overly.. distracted fox girl who had asked them for their name.

"Despite what you're all complaining about, we have a team for this now." He stated with a sly grin. "So without further ado, let's be on our wa- Ah." He cut himself off as he realized something. He didn't know which mountain the Lizard was on.

"Do any of you actually know where this lizard is?" He asked without a shred of shame in his voice. He would consult the little paper which he had now rolled up and wrapped in his tail, but the paper had almost no information on it regarding which mountain this bloody lizard was on.

Given that it was Spring, he couldn't perform any of his usual hunting activities as many of the creatures of the woods were busy procreating. Much like most of the fairies that he knew of, around this time. It was last day of the Blossom Festival, also the last day of his forced holiday given to him by his superior officer. One who didn't like to hold people back from their yearly traditions. Ahmal never really did much on the Blossom Festival. As a child, he'd often help his family with growing flowers and then just wandered around during the festivities, people watching as usual.

But this year was a little different. This year felt different from all the others. For most of the morning, he'd been scouting about the forest, despite his Lieutenant's orders to take a break. No harm in flitting around the canopy to observe new hunters. He had made it back to his home some time before the 10th stretch to attempt to plan out his day, to no avail. But there was two things on his mind. Ahmal had remembered the Equinox Ball, something he'd been invited to on a few occasions by random women he didn't even know. He always declined, much to their dismay. He already knew what they were after, but he was a little different from the seemingly stereotypical fairy. He just couldn't do that kind of thing with someone he barely knew.

The other thing, or rather person, on his mind. Lyriia. A name hung around his thoughts for a while as he contemplated the Ball. His parents would breath a sigh of relief at what he was thinking of doing.

For a solid few stretches, he thought about how he'd invite her to the ball. Today was the last follow-up check that Lyriia had to do before confirming that his leg was fully healed. They didn't really talk much during these check ups, but he felt quite relaxed in her presence, whereas with other people or fairies he'd seem quite stern or closed off.

He'd be wrong to say that he wasn't worried that Lyriia may already have someone to go to the Ball with. She was quite a pretty girl, very reliable too. He wouldn't be too surprised if she was already spoken for. Perhaps just disappointed.

It was about 12th stretch when Ahmal stood up from his chair, deciding that he'd finally do something. It was also about time that Lyriia showed up for the follow-up. Although sometimes the times were off by a few slips.

"Ahmal?" a female's voice called. "Are you here?"

He hoped he didn't seem overly eager to answer the door when he opened it, giving the younger fairy a small, yet welcoming smile as their eyes met. "Last check up huh?" He asked rhetorically as he stepped aside to invite her in. He noticed the small blue flower in her hair. "The colour suits you." He commented softly, looking at the flower in the girl's hair.
The Animata merely watched his new 'companion' rise from their slumber, he did not flinch at all when she brought up her arms to attack, as if he knew that she wouldn't do anything to him. Her questions were numerous, yet easy to answer, "Calm yourself, child." He commanded with a smooth, metallic voice. "I am Ardon. And I have awaken you from your slumber to serve me. As a machine of war, you will obey me, for I have allowed you to survive. His voice staying authoritative as he spoke. He paused for a moment, to let it all sink in, but to also think of a name for his new subordinate. Ardon was merely a name that just popped into mind when he spoke.

"Your name is Ketta, and your purpose is to follow me. Guard me. As I make the world anew. To save those who cannot survive on their own like we have. His vision of 'saving' was rather.. skewed. He turned away, beginning to walk toward the opening in the cave, curious as to what is beyond the trickling light. "Come Ketta, we must begin our mission." He ordered firmly. He was very confident for someone who had no knowledge of anything in this world, but he will soon find out everything.

It had taken them a stretch or two to make it to the end of the cave, their metallic bodies being greeted by the afternoon sun and a soft breeze that pushed about the desert sand. Ardon could feel energy surge through him as the rays beat down on him. Something approached them. A humanoid figure. It soon came into view, to reveal another. A pair of humans. They looked at the metal beings with some shock and awe. "W-who are you?" The man asked, stuttering before the tall inhuman pair. "Silence fleshling! I will be the one asking questions." Ardon bellowed as he stepped forward, towering over the man. "Who is your master? Why are you here?" He questioned back.

Before the man could open his mouth, his companion, a woman, threw out something from her hand. A fire...ball? Before the attack hit Ardon, it dissipated harmlessly, the magical energy flowing into his core. His gaze moved to her attacker. "Ketta. End her." He ordered. Survival 101. Don't attack the person in command.
