ARIS THE OCULUS

* art belongs to Jameszpata

Name: Aris the Oculus

Age: 720 earth years.

Gender: Male

Race: Omino – A deep-space race that can gain supernatural abilities from joining with interstellar creatures called “Starborne” or “Children of the Cosmos”

Appearance: The Omino is a rare, deep-space, humanoid race. They appear very similar to their earth-born kin, though they have elongated ears—pointed and narrow. Aris in particular has a very peculiar appearance, his eyes are gleaming orange, and his hair long, bluish. Two long strands fall along his shoulders while sideward bangs covers the ancient marking of his people. A stylized Z-like script. Aris has polished black skin, like obsidian. He adorns a golden armor that covers him from head to toe, veiling his natural appearance from outsiders while inspiring awe in the same instance.

Personality: Aris the Oculus, despite his renown titular and reputation, is somewhat unaware and withdrawn. He disregards any that he deems unimportant with as much standing as a sentient would an insect. Though that has many times been his downfall during his younger days, not that he is mature. The Omino, those that are bound, are ageless. But even without that they have natural long lives. In earth standards, mentally, Aris is best compared to a young adult. Arrogance, pride, and intrigue are key traits of his race, however his need for absolute control and a throne is solely his own. Between his lack of appreciation for order and his outright disregard for others, he is a rather frustrating being to be around.

Occupation: Mercenary / Conqueror.

Talents/Abilities/Tech:
Absolute Mental Wall / The “Starborne” sharing his body provides a mental and telepathic protection. When faced with adverse or foreign entities, the creature blocks out all attempts to invade.

Self-Sustenance / Naturally, Omino does not have to sleep for several days, making them very protective of their sleep-cycle. Aris can go five days without sleep before having to rest for 10 – 12 hours. Since he is bound with “Starborne” he is also capable of going without oxygen or food to maintain his energy. He need only to absorb cosmic radiation.

Supernatural Conditioning / Omino are, by birth, an immensely fragile race. But once bound to a “Child of the Cosmos” they undergo a radical, painful transformation. By shattering all they were, they are quickly reconstructed to ensure the “Child’s” survival. They are even more rare than the Omino and must be conserved If they are captured. Aris has untested leagues of strengths, speed, durability, and endurance thanks to the “Child”. To find the exact limits of his strength is a goal of his.

Starborne Sync / Aris can materialize small parts of the “Starborne” into existence. His title “The Oculus” comes from a unique technique that he uses often. To produce several ethereal, invisible, eyes from the “Starborne” and see what it sees. Others who are capable of seeing the entirety of the EM spectrum may witness the manifestation of the massive dark eyes or even see the “Starborne” inside of Aris.

Other:
  • Aris and the “Starborne” are incapable of communicating through speech but he does share its emotions from time to time.
  • Omino are thought to be extinct, though rumors surface occasionally. (Think of mythical creatures on earth and you’ll get the gist of their place in the Cosmos.) The “Starborne” however are naturally avoided due to their reclusive and unknown nature. Legends and terrors are what most see the horrific creatures as.
  • The “Starborne” are creatures that travel the universe, never stopping to rest on planets or stars. Their habits and role are unknown to most scholars. (I’m thinking of some ideas.)
  • Aris the Oculus has been known to utilize his strength to conqueror planets. No one knows his species or reasons.
  • His voice is a tad young, adolescent perhaps.
  • The process of bounding a Omino and "Starborne" together is a secret to even Aris.
Took a minute to finish him but he's done. I know he might seem a bit overpowered but its just the vision I have at the moment. I don't plan on dominating anyone too soon, though he is interested in Earth. ;)

Interested as well. I'm going to watch this and hopefully it'll be my First Rp after my hiatus.

Tatooine

Mako considered the man’s offer with wariness. The truth of his words, the accuracy that he unraveled Mako with, only made him more hesitant. Even if he wasn’t a danger to him, this man’s connection with the force was unique to him… unknown. It bothered him. Not to mention the outfit he wore was kind of misleading as well.

He thought long about his answer. Though he may seem to the stranger to be looking through the man. A minute passed before Mako—lightsaber still in hand—relented with a tilt of his head and a stern glare.

“A,” was the sudden name he’d given the man. “My name is A. I’ve been traveling these deserts for several days. My rations are depleted and I’m hungry. I want my food first.”
@tobiax Sorry about that, hadn't noticed you asked this. I'm good tho.

Tatooine

Tall as he was, Mako raised to his full height at the beckoning of another. It wasn’t until the last moment had he realized he was being approached; sustaining one’s self with the force was a consuming task—at least for him it was. The shirtless male was veiled by a wind-battered dark cloak, its folds billowing left and right; it made him feel powerful as he looked down on this stranger.

“True as that may be, I’m afraid I can’t afford to believe in inconsistences.” He brought the two-handed dark hilt into his hand and brought his arm out the doublings of his cloak. He hoped the possibility of a fight would persuade the man to move on, he knew he had little chance in winning.

Now that he focused, he could feel the unique balance that attempted to meld inside him. It was… unnatural. “Leave me be warrior. I have not the time to dawdle with you. Your--Your uncertainty bothers me.”

@mattmanganon Its no problem. I'll get a post out for you in a bit ^^

Squad 10 Barracks – Captain’s Office

Ryuma lowered his head and shut his eyes. The challenge had been accepted and matched; the fringes of his white hair wafting with the spiritual pressure in the room. A crescent smile raised onto his face until Kanada left.

Once the Squad three captain left, Ryuma sighed.

“What a showoff…” he muttered, ignoring his own antics before sliding his bokken in his sash. “I suppose I’ll have to sharpen my edge now. To think that Kanda might actually take this fight seriously. Its’ a bit frightening.” he admitted cheerily.

Before long he was lounging on the Victorian couch in the middle of his office, his arms unfurled on its cushioned ridge. Tomorrow would be interesting, he thought with a smile. The smile soon faded into uncertainty. His mother’s request slithering into his mind. Did she really expect him to ask such a request? The guardianship of Karakura Town

Tsk! “As if the Head Captain would allow it.” He ruffled his hair softly before peeping the crack in his door widen. He raised his brow and said, “Yes?”

A mob of his squad members poked their heads inside before barging through. They questioned about the spiritual spike in his room, some even mentioned how fearful they were that a battle had started. He reassured them with a gentle smile that it was all in good sport. That he’d need his six strongest Shinigami for tomorrow’s bout.

Squad 10 Barracks – Captain’s Office

Ryuma pulled open the heavy door to his office, pausing to respond to Kanda’s statement. Had it really always been that way? He hadn’t noticed it, at least not until not now. His hand slid back into his kimono and he turned to face the Squad 3 captain. The feeling of admiration was mutual. Never before had he felt such raw talent in someone as he had his friend. If he had been born with talent like that, he would have took the Gotei by storm years ago.

“Even intelligence is a matter of freedom my friend. Around the afternoon, I have a couple of reports to fill out in the morning. My Squad will be ready, better make sure yours is too.”

Squad 10 Barracks – Captain’s Office

“Obstacle test?”

Ryuma slid from out his desk. He hand found it’s way into the opposite side of his kimono, where it rested as he stepped towards Kanda. To him, the idea of an obstacle test seemed too infantile to train soul reapers. He had given his squad the freedom of choice and most of them had decided to reach towards heights that he had already conquered. Free will usually led to the correct choice… usually.

“Instead of an obstacle course? Because soul reapers have such dense heads, why not let them fight one of us. An entire squad versus one captain would kill two hollows with one slash. First they’ll witness strength to strive towards. And second, they’ll realize your training isn’t as hellish as it seems,”

Ryuma grabbed the hilt of his bokken in a reverse grip and quickly drew the blade. A burst of air harmlessly pushed outwards from the Squad 10 captain. He smirked at the easy display of power. Once upon a time, he was a harmless soul who could barely keep up with the weakest of hollows. Now—now he was a captain that inspired admiration and devotion in most.

“Ahh,” he said with a smiling sigh. “This is gonna be good, Kanda. Perhaps we should pit our two squads against each other instead. Wouldn’t that be fun to witness?” He chuckled while heading towards the door, the wooden sword, with inky kanji saying “Release the chains” was held at his side in a firm grip.
