And while i have yet to approve which one will be the navigator I don't want it to deter you all from applying. Ryu has a full head of bright red hair which reaches down to the middle of his back. He keeps it in a braid most of the time, but will occasionally let it down when he wants to relax fully or when he sleeps. His features are fairly youthful, even for someone of his age, and he could easily be mistaken as a few years younger than he actually is. His build is fairly lean and belies his true strength and power.
Style:
Ryu’s relaxed and easygoing nature carries over even to his wardrobe. He dresses simply and comfortably, opting to wear a simple buttoned short sleeved shirt with a loose fitting tie, along with a pair of shorts, and sandals. He very rarely, if ever, seen dressing in any attire more formal than his normal outfit. He also has a piercing in his lower left ear.
Personality
Innate Personality: Beneath his unbreaking cool exterior lies a ceaseless turmoil wrought from two conflicting ideals within him: an immense bloodlust, and an immovable sense of justice. He is never happier than when he is on the battlefield surrounded by chaos, and his training is the only thing he does with any regularity. He lives to fight, and he is wholly committed to seeking out entertaining fights and growing stronger. Fortunately, his insatiable lust for fighting is kept in check by his ironclad sense of justice. He will not hesitate to enact punishment on those he deems to be evil, regardless of who that person may be. He is not a zealot however, often even chiding those he views as zealots for being such, and his ideals on the finer notions of justice remain open to new ideas or interpretations. Because of this extreme dichotomy, those who know him well will often say that there are two Ryus, the one who talks and the one who fights. While this is a fairly apt summary, it is not entirely true, and trying to fully separate the two sides of Ryu would prove impossible, as they are inextricably linked.
Ryu constantly exudes an air of relaxed charisma. He is almost always calm and laid back, even going so far as to treat dire situations with facetiousness. Even when directly insulted, he will simply offer a retort calmly using his sharp tongue and keen wit. Competent Tailor - Ryu has also become somewhat adept at sewing and tailoring over the years. He is able to mend most day to day rips and tears, and can even make minor sizing alterations as well.

Reason For Joining:
He decided to travel the world to seek out stronger opponents and to grow his own strength. However, because of his bounty with the World Government and the Marines, he was unable to board any normal ship as a passenger. As a result, his only viable option to travel the seas was to join a pirate crew, which he did after some deliberation.
History/Bio:
Ryu’s early life was almost entirely composed of him going to school, until he was expelled at age seven for getting into a fistfight with another child. Ryu never really set out to become a pirate, and, had the circumstances in his life been different, it is entirely possible that he might have even joined the Marines (although his immense apathy would more than likely have become a point of contention). His only constant goal has been to find interesting fights and to continue becoming stronger. Consequently, he has spent most of his life training and getting into fights. He eventually became infamous in his hometown of Loguetown to the point where no one dared interact with him, for fear of setting off his will to fight. He became a pirate just a few months ago, and initially only did so because he deemed it the best way to move towards his goal of traveling and growing stronger. However, he has started to become quite accustomed to living as a pirate, enjoying the amount of freedom it grants him. His habit of attacking, and often times killing, Marines (as well as local law enforcement) who he sees as overstepping their bounds and abusing their power is what garnered him his initial bounty.
Ryu’s relationship with his mother is by far the closest relationship he has. Although she disapproved of him learning how to fight, she could tell he was truly passionate about it, so she supported him nonetheless. She was sad when he told her of his intentions to leave the island and see the world, but again, she could tell that it was what he truly wanted. She was the only person he said goodbye to when he left, besides his uncle, and she stood on the pier and watched the ship until it disappeared over the horizon.
Ryu’s relationship with his brother is incredibly tenuous. Early on in his life, Ryu idolized his brother, thinking of him as a hero of justice among the valiant Marines. However, as he came to learn more about the world and his hatred for the World Government grew, his feelings of admiration turned to animosity. His brother is stationed on a Marine base in the West Blue, and he would visit, Ryu would make a point of avoiding all interaction. When he decided to leave the island, Ryu made sure to do so at a time when his brother wouldn’t be visiting, so he wouldn’t be able to try and dissuade him from it.

Ryu’s father was a member of a branch in the World Government. Five years ago, he disappeared completely, with neither the World Government nor his family having any idea what became of him. Ryu had already began to view the World Government with disdain, and he immediately assumed his father’s disappearance was somehow its doing. Unknown to Ryu, his father was in fact a member of Cipher Pol Aigis Zero, the most secretive of the Cipher Pol divisions which reports directly to the World Nobles. Even to those high up in the World Government, it is still completely unknown what caused the disappearance of Ryu’s father. Ryu talks very little about his father, as he always felt like he was living in his father’s shadow, even though he didn’t know just how high up in the World Government his father was. He regards his father with a certain amount of contempt. However, he still has a slight interest in finding out what became of his father, although it’s pretty low on his list of priorities. Ryu’s father was also the wielder of the legendary sword Yoru, which was once owned by the incredibly renowned swordsman Dracule Mihawk.

Every movement or strike he makes is at full power with full intent to incapacitate or kill. He is ruthless and unyielding, while at the same time perfectly calm. If he decides to kill someone he will kill that person, unless he determines that he is unable to do so, or is otherwise incapacitated. He will also actively seek out fights with strong individuals
Strengths :
Swordsmanship - Ryu is an extremely adept swordsman, proficient at using both one and two swords. Ryu’s primary sword style is Nitenryu (Twin Heavens Style), an extremely powerful Nitoryu and Ittoryu variant. However, he is also extremely proficient in Ittoryu as well, specifically Iaido, the ability to draw one’s sword with extreme speed and skill. His skill with Nitenryu is enough to where he can cut through Iron and other similar metals. Physical Abilities - In spite of his relatively thin build, Ryu possesses noteworthy strength and speed. While he is most adept at swordsmanship, his high physical prowess allows him to hold his own even in unarmed combat to some extent. His eyesight and his speed are both notably exceptional. Exceptional Close Range Fighter - As he uses swords, all of his techniques are focused on close ranged combat. He excels at taking down opponents at short range, and is extremely lethal in closed quarters.
Weaknesses:
Ryu has absolutely no ranged attacks or abilities and is more or less essentially useless in mid to long range combat. He is also very reluctant to back down from a fight, really only doing so when his life is in danger.
Experience:
Ryu has been fighting for most his life, constantly picking fistfights in his younger years and eventually moving to use his dual blades. He has dedicated a large portion of his time to his training, approximately twelve years, as it is one of the few things that he can gain a sense of satisfaction from. However, he has far from completed his training and he still has a long way to go. In terms of overall fighting ability, he is around the same level as Zoro during the Arlong Park Arc.
Equipment:
Ryu carries a pair of katanas, which seemingly have no name. They are exquisite, with pure white hilts and saya, and jet black blades. They are of exquisite and superlative quality, and are painstakingly cleaned and maintained by Ryu on a regular basis. He carries them either fixed to his belt at the waist, or slung over his shoulder. It is not known to anyone but him how he came to possess them.

Ideally he’ll become somewhat less of an ass, at least when dealing with his crewmembers. He has a degree of emotional and mental maturity, but he could do with a lot more. Obviously, he's going to have to confront his view of the World Government at some point, which will be a pretty big character moment for him. It will ultimately go one of two ways, with him either doubling down on his opinion of the World Government, or begrudgingly accepting that not everyone in the Marines is only out for their own personal gain.

@FiroIV Hi! Quick question. Is there anyway you could give us an idea of what's already been taken as far as Devil fruits go like which cannon DFs have been taken, or what's the ratio between the devil fruit types?
I plan for my character to obtain a canon Paramecia-type Devil Fruit during the course of the RP
See, but what i wanna know is if the oppsite can happen. Like can there be small non-dwarf humans? Also lowkey i wanna see a yonkou that's like three feet tall, or an admiral that's just like an old lady so hunched and adorable she's back to being only four feet tall.
That is an interesting thought. I can't remember her actual name, but the previous empress before Boa Hancock was pretty tiny

Also are you referring to how Akainu is like huge event though he's not a giant, or how FUkurou for some unknown reason has zipper mouth?
There are actually quite a few One Piece characters that are extremely tall despite not being giants lol. Doflamingo for example is a towering ten feet tall
