Current @Riven Wright that is, in fact, the point of door-to-door proselytizing; membership retention. Deliberately put into uncomfortable interactions with outsiders, make them scared to leave The Group

I just saw the new Masters of The Universe, would recommend, especially if, like me, you were in the target audience back in the 1980's

Bio

Bios are stupid; oh, sure, everyone can see them, but I bet nobody reads them.

Rude hand gestures and shpadoinkle, there.

No, I wasn't drunk when I wrote this, but I was very tired.

@Abolish nICE I just woke up, and my kid is on full tilt. I'll let you know how I feel about this when I'm actually awake.

Co-GM's, @Zyshi@Jasper19, feel free to have a look over this, and we can have a group message to talk about it.
@ZyshiBecause I made you one
Monty rubbed his side, groaning as he sat up. "D'ow, shit, I think I fell on a rock!" he grimaced as he looked around. Man, there aren't any woods near my house! Where are we?

One of them was shouting a lot, now, and swearing, also alot. He couldn't help but hear some of the conversation, He pointed at- "Bianca", he thought, "Hey, who are you calling 'kids', huh? I'll bet you hassle guys like me outside the 7-11 to buy you beer!"

Crossing his arms across his chest, with a stern expression, directed at the one doing all the cursing, "And as for you, Princess Potty-Mouth, the name is Montegomery; friends call me Monty, for short. If I let you keep it short, you think you can pronounce it without saying 'fuck' at least twice?" He looked a bit sheepish, suddenly, and looked away as he muttered under his breath, "Shouldn't have said that..."

He made a move to help one of the others up, "I don't recall any truck, myself; I was just walking down the sidewalk, and before I realized what was going on, I was falling through... I guess it was like a tunnel, or something? No clue how it could have opened up in the sky, though... Maybe we're in a park, or something?"

After whoever it was that he helped was standing, he held his own head, a look of worry on his face, "ugh, how'm I going to explain this, at work?"
Hrmmm... Very kind, and proactive of you, @Zyshi, but in the future do please reconsider taking control of what other people post, and where.

That being said, I'm sure @BlackXIII would have already posted to the character tab, had I remembered to actually instruct them to, so, that's kind of my bad, there.

I like your enthusiasm, though.
@BlackXIII flattery aside, it sounds like you're clear to write up an intro; I'm sure you'll fit in well in Nowhere :P
@BlackXIII Well, I like the character! an interesting case, to say the least (and I like your willingness to let him be the one who hasn't seen or experienced anything, technically, humorously, making him the normal one).

Regarding his role, call him "Stoner" if you want, but the role he fills and the sort of character he is, is pretty well covered, in my opinion, by the "Space Case" role (I even quoted the stoner from "Cabin in the Woods" for the example :P).

I think I may have done too good a job defining the roles, so I'm going to be a bit less stringent on what people are writing down, as long as I can draw a connection to an existing role or the proposed role is well explained.

I'm going to consult with the co-GM at the earliest opportunity, and see if we'll bring you into this episode, or give you an in for the next one. For the time being, I'd say, subscribe to the topic and sit tight, Shaggy :P
World building(kind of)!

The local diner/restaurant is called "The Greasy Spoon"
Alright, got an intro, everybody take the time to put in a good intro post for their character, and events can go from there. Nowhere is the starting location, so a week after the incident is when I expect you all to be there, or just arriving there. The rest is up to you.

A modest log cabin home sits in an open field, on one side, a chain-link fence separates the property from a corn field. On the other side of the field, a large cluster of trees, with a river running through it. The sun had set hours ago, but only now was a mist rising, spreading out from the forest, and quickly enveloping a sizable portion of the town. It enveloped a large portion of a cornfield. It crept around the new housing development. It settled on a cattle grazing field. It even rolled several blocks down main street.

And it completely swallowed up the field, with the solitary modest log cabin.

From out of the trees, through the mist, a soft, glowing light came drifting toward the house. It approached a window, stopping just outside of it. There was a scratching sound on the glass, and the occupant inside stirred. She sat up, drowzy, but smiled at the small light outside her window.

"Do you wanna play?" It didn't answer. The child hopped out of her bed, sneaked out of her room and down the hall. She slipped into a coat, and boots, and left the front door wide open as she hopped down the steps of her front porch, the light shining just above.

She trotted across the field, toward the trees and the sound of the rushing river, giggling the whole way as the light bobbed this way and that, leading her along.

She went down a path, turning this way and that, her spectral playmate just ahead, and above, until they got to a point where the house couldn't be seen through the trees. It flew up high, and she stopped just under it, reaching up as she laughed, hopping in place, reveling in the pale, blue-white glow.

Then the light turned bright red. She blinked a few times, as if only just waking up. Her eyes went wide as she stared at the light, and began to shake, frightened.

"...Muh, Maw- Mommy! MOMMY!!" She turned and ran as fast as she could, but she didn't know which way she was going- the light began swooping down at her, giving shrill screams as it chased her, the only sound the girl could hear over the river. It came down to her level, moving along the path as it closed in on the girl.

She risked a glance back-

And fell.

Her grandfather bolted upright, waking up to the screams. He rushed as best as he could, but running was out of the question at his age. He practically jumped into his boots, clad only in sweat-pants and an under-shirt, flashlight in hand. It couldn't even penetrate the mist, but he still tried to search, swinging it this way and that as he called out to the child.

"Moira!... Moooiiiiraaaa!!" He continued, in a Scottish accent, trotting this way and that, calling out as his daughter dialed emergency services. He kept calling to her, even after the girls screams went quiet...

NIGHT TERRORS

ONE WEEK LATER...

Ok, closing the applications, for now, and tonight or tomorrow I'll post an opening, let's... My usual enthusiasm in the phrase "Let's rock and roll!" feels inappropriate, considering how this is going to start (... You'll see), so, let's leave it at "Here we go"
