Anemone sat leaning back and with her arms crossed as she listened to Mr. Mameo. Her 'digimon,' as she had recently learned they were called, sat atop her head, having found it to be a suitable spot for him since his hatching. Anemone put up with it, already getting used to the feeling. He wasn't particularly heavy. Though it did make her a little worried about what size he'd be when he changed forms again--hopefully he'd understand her neck wouldn't be able to handle him sitting there if he got too large.

Mr. Mameo's lecture reached the part about the little digimon needing to go to the washroom. Anemone's eyes narrowed and glanced up.

"You'd better not," she said under her breath.

"Wouldn't dream of it! Soiling my personal perch would be no good," came the reply from the Gummymon she had named Aero.

The girl reached up and poked him in the side. "Call me your 'personal perch' again and you're gonna be walking everywhere." Aero simply gave a giggle in response, patting her head with half of his soft lower body as though to calm her down.

Anemone smiled slightly to herself, enjoying the little guy's company. She couldn't really explain it, but she felt strongly tied to him already...

The thought of which turned her smile into a frown as she looked down at her desk. She had a year to decide whether to stay her, in this Digital World... but even deciding to use that whole year to make her choice would force her to give up on volleyball. That long of a break at her level and age was enormous. On top of that, it'd set her back a year in her life that she already had no handle on. Though... if she chose to stay, then she supposed that wouldn't really matter.

Though her concerns clouded over her, Anemone was still able to pay attention. It was fascinating to learn of a completely different world and how to care for the child-like Aero.

It was a temporary distraction, as the lecture came to an end eventually. Anemone followed Mr. Mameo along with the rest of the small class as he led them to the 'Arena.' Lunch was mentioned by a few indivduals.

"Food," Aero stated simply to no one in particular, somersaulting off Anemone's head and landing tall, as though he were a gymnastics olympian. He started waddling off ahead of the group, forcing his tamer to catch up to him.

"I'm going to put a leash on you, I swear," she said.

The Gummymon halted, and turned sharply, staring up at Anemone with listless eyes. A moment passed before he opened his mouth.

"Digimon are friends, not slaves," he said, in a shockingly good but deadpan impression of Mr. Mameo.

Anemone paused, sighing through a mildly incredulous stare. She was already starting to get used to this behaviour. "Weren't a fan of his lecture, huh?"

The reply came in the form of an extremely exaggerated back flop followed by loud snores.

"Don't be rude," she chided softly as she reached down to pick him up, keeping him in her arms for now. "I enjoyed it." Her mind drifted back to the thoughts she had been having during the lecture. She glanced between the three boys who were her classmates, and Mr. Mameo. Maybe at least one of them had a similar worry. It was worth asking, instead of just being left to wonder.

"Mr. Mameo..." she started, deciding how to phrase the question as she went. "If we decide to stay past the one year time limit, will we be able to see people from... well, the 'real' world again?"

The girl felt Aero shift in her grip, turning to look up at her, but she avoided his gaze and he kept quiet.
For review~

I'll add onto the pile of questions by asking if we can change digivolution lines up from canon?

In my particular case, I'm thinking I'd like to have the Terriermon line, but to replace MegaGargomon with Fuujinmon as the Mega-level form. I like his design much more than MegaGargomon's, and have always felt that he seemed like a relatively natural digivolution from Rapidmon, just playing on the speed aspect of Rapidmon more than the walking artillery traits like MegaGargomon does.

Hearing Kaida speak in French took Reina a bit by surprise, due to how naturally she transitioned into it. Judging by her reaction, she hadn't realized she had spoken in the foreign language until after the words were out of her mouth. Roy seemed to understand her, which was also surprising, and by his response it seemed like Kaida was beginning to understand what ramen was.

Reina, seeing that the girl looked slightly embarrassed, felt the need to do something to alleviate it. After a moment of thought, all she could manage was a small shrug, as though to say 'no worries.' "You'll know exactly what it is soon anyways. I'm sure you'll enjoy it." she said, adding a slight smile at the end.

The group continued, eventually reaching the shop. Reina froze a bit, seeing the amount of people inside, the anxiety she had been feeling about going out with her classmates growing suddenly. When the got inside to sit down, she made a point to sit on the outside of their table, making sure she had an easy way to leave if she felt the need... well, felt the need to more than she did right now.

Reina kept quiet, hands on her lap as she looked very slowly and deliberately through the menu, glancing up occasionally at her companions as they spoke. This... wasn't so bad. Sure, she didn't really feel like she had anything of much value to say, but she also didn't feel like she was disliked by her classmates. Just being there was fine for now. It was a step towards being a better person.

She didn't have much time to settle in, though. A scream piercing through the buzz of the packed shop made the hair on the back of Reina's neck stand up. Before a moment could pass, the girl processed that it was a scream of distress, and she found herself off her seat, feet taking her one step towards the direction of the noise. That one step was all she had time for before the bus ran through the front of the shop.

Adrenaline now firing in full, Reina's instincts continued to drive her as the milliseconds felt like minutes. She was between her classmates and the front of the building, which meant she could help shield them at least a bit.

Her gravity pushed outwards as she turned her back to the crash site to shield herself, hopefully keeping any debris from injuring any of them. She was knocked to the ground, but after a half-second to assess damage to herself knew that bump was the worst of it. Pushing herself up off the ground, her head spun in the panic to check on her classmates and the rest of the shop's patrons, ready to move to help anyone that needed it. Miraculously, it seemed like everyone was okay enough to stand and move.

Following the owner's instructions, Reina moved to keep herself closer to the bus, pushing with her quirk in an effort to slow the rate that smoke filled the area. She just hoped the vehicle didn't decide to explode, at least for a couple more minutes.

As she and the other 1A students waited for people to evacuate, Reina finally had a moment to think and wonder about what the hell had just happened. She threw a glance over her should, trying to discern the cause of the crash through the bus to no avail. Was it a villain? It likely wasn't an accidental crash, judging by the way the bus had hit the shop on its side.

The group were finally the last to leave through the back exit, Reina following out into the alley. The smoke thinned, but only slightly, leading to some coughing on her part as she glanced at the others. "Possibly a villain. Careful," she said the obvious, though it was more as a sort of role-call or check, to make sure nobody was in shock or something. Just as she finished speaking, she began coughing again, knees buckling and causing her to double over and drop on her rear. The coughing fit lasted several seconds, leaving her teary eyed. Evidently, having been so close to the source of the smoke for the duration of the evacuation had negatively affected her.

Reina's words seemed to help defuse the situation, to her surprise. She nodded her thanks towards Sarge as he let them be on their way. A small feeling of pride flickered inside the girl, the only evidence of it being the most subtle of smiles on her lips as she followed the group. Roy mentioned that they should leave while they had the chance, which she agreed with.

As they walked, the quiet girl took out her phone and earbuds from her bag, swiping the screen to put her music on a random playlist. As she put in one of the earbuds, leaving the other tucked into the collar of her uniform's top, Kaida came up to her, taking her a bit by surprise, especially because she wasn't immediately sure how to answer the question the girl posed.

If she was going to be hanging out with her classmates like this, it shouldn't be surprising her whenever one of them tried to talk to her.

Glancing away from Kaida with a light blush, Reina hummed to herself in thought. "Hm... there's lots of different kinds, but basically... it's noodles in some kind of broth, with any variety of toppings. Like eggs, scallions, dried seaweed, pork..." Reina was making herself hungry as she spoke. "It's filling, and because of all the variations anyone can probably find a kind they love. Unless you just hate noodles, I guess..." Reina shrugged slightly, glancing towards Kaida out of the corner of her eye, unsure if that explanation was even decent.

Dragged along by Michiko with Kaida, the trio made it outside to see Takeshi, along with Roy. Reina greeted them in her own way, eyes glancing to the side and giving a reserved nod. The fact that she'd be spending time with this group for a while, with no real way to... 'escape' began to settle in. She tried to shake the anxiety away. She already knew she liked them all, and she'd spent extended periods of time already with Michiko and Takeshi during the boy's training. So this was kind of similar. Except instead of training she had to... talk about... clothes? Food? Herself? With a slight frown, the girl tightened her grip on her school bag.

Roy provided a distraction from her thoughts when he asked the three girls if he could come along. Not minding, and not having the personality to say she didn't want him to come even if that was the case, Reina gave a shrug and nod. Kaida refusing him was a bit surprising, prompting Reina to look up and at the two in some confusion. Had something happened between the two? Keeping quiet as this exchange went on, she noticed they were both acting kind of bashful, maybe? Reina glanced away, reaching up to play with her ear for a moment.

It was quickly decided that Roy would come along, and he joined the group after going to change. Before they could leave, Sarge stopped them, evidently not happy with the fact that Takeshi had a sword. Reina had thought that had been a bit strange, but it had hardly seemed out of place on the boy's person since he seemed to always be with some sort of weapon.

When Takeshi explained to Sarge that he had a license, though, Reina was fully on his side. She didn't have any reason to believe he was lying about that, considering how skilled he was with the blade. And if he could bring it with him, why not be on the safe side of things. There seemed to be a hidden conversation in the exchange between Takeshi and Sarge, but Reina couldn't be sure.

Either way, the girl wasn't too sure she was happy with how Sarge had spoken to the boy. He was helping her with training at the cost of his own time, so she was partial to him, and it was making her want to say something.

Maybe... maybe being related to the principal would allow her to help, in a small way? She swallowed, quickly building up some courage.

"Is Ta... Is Yashiro-san really doing anything bad, Sarge-sensei?" she asked. "If he can't be trusted with a sword, he wouldn't be at Komei, right?" The girl frowned as she continued, glancing at one of her orbs. "I mean... most of our quirks are more dangerous than any weapon, anyway..." Reina's voice quickly trailed off, and she seemed to almost shrink, a hand again reaching up to timidly play with her ear. Bad memories that she knew she shouldn't dwell on came to the front of her thoughts, and she had already felt like she said too much. This business was between Sarge and Takeshi.

Reina sat on her bed with her legs crossed and stared down at the half-dozen papers splayed out on her sheets. Extremely amateur doodles of hero costume concepts were penciled on the paper. The girl frowned, mildly disappointed and embarrassed that she couldn't convey the ideas she had in her head very well. Well, at least she had determined that her costume would have some sort of fur collar on it. She liked that look. Yes, whenever she felt she had earned a costume, she'd make sure it'd have some fur.

The black-haired girl stared, losing herself in her thoughts. The loud and fast knocking on her door made her jump slightly in surprise. As the spike in adrenaline subsided, Michiko spoke from outside. Reina had been reaching to gather all the sheets of paper up off her bed but paused upon hearing what the other girl had to say--paused in mild shock, realizing her first instinct hadn't been to quickly refuse, but instead to consider the offer.

The girl's mind began to race--but she decided to try something different. To try having none of her wild train of thoughts. Before her self-doubt could even begin to get out of hand...

"...yeah..."

It felt like her world stopped. Something so insignificant to everyone else in the world, but she was in shock that she had managed to accept.

A long moment went by before the girl realized she had replied extremely quietly. Sucking in air--having not been breathing for the last few seconds--she answered through the door again while hopping off her bed. "Y-Yeah, sure! I'll be out in, um... like, two minutes!..."

Her heart was pounding almost as hard as it had been when she had been fighting Acion. She had to change. She was just wearing her baggiest hoodie and sweats right now. What should she wear? Something she liked, obviously, even if it was on the 'slobby' side, right? That was who she was, so dressing up would just be weird. Yeah. Probably. Wait, actually. It was a school day, she should change back in her uniform if she was going out. That was the sensible thing, right. Right?

Right, definitely. It had been a... while since she'd last gone out anywhere with other students, but it was definitely her uniform she should wear.

With that decided, she changed in a flurry, pulling on the long-sleeved pullover and quickly brushing her hair back into place. Next came the strange hopping dance that came with trying to pull up leggings in a hurry--only made worse by the orbs floating around her, one of them literally trying to get in her pants. "Piss off!" she muttered, swatting it away with the back of her hand. One last check in the mirror to make sure she hadn't missed something important, and Reina was as satisfied as she'd ever be. She grabbed her schoolbag, and made her way to open the door, as though she hadn't been in a complete panic moments ago.

She gave a small wave and smile to Takeshi's sister, unable to keep herself from being at least a little sheepish. "Hey, Michiko...-chan."

Morie glanced at the Asian boy as he beckoned her over--man, actually, now that she looked at him. He was quite short, but it was clear looking at his face that he was at least her age, if not older.

She hesitated, not entirely certain about complying and adding herself to the group of complete strangers. Before she could make a decision, a voice answered her from the edge of the clearing. Morie wheeled around, ready for... something. Her eyes widened slightly as she took in the state the owner of the voice was in, alarms going off--as if they hadn't been already.

"Clearly you are no longer."

Morie subtly pulled a face at the statement, unsure if it was supposed to be sarcastic. "...Clearly," she muttered, eyeing the woman up and down some more. Morie paused seeing her exposed feet. That wasn't okay.

The pale-blonde made a movement to reach into her gym bag... but realized it wasn't around her shoulder. Of course it wasn't. She had put it down just before she was taken here... to 'Astoria.'

Frowning slightly, Morie glanced down at the sneakers on her own feet. The black-haired woman looked in far worse shape than she was. Morie could live without shoes for a bit. She paused before kicking them off though, seeing the short man reaching into a bag that he evidently hadn't left behind, seeing him pull a pair of... shoes? It was footwear, at least, but not like any Morie had ever seen. Well, they would be better than nothing for sure. Morie smiled to herself as she watched the man placed them on the ground near the woman. It was a good first impression he was making on her--she definitely had respect for him now, considering he had evidently had a similar train of thought as she had.

Morie's gaze shifted to the tiny blonde. Lucy. The way she had introduced herself and asked for information from the black-haired woman was warm and polite. The girl seemed genuine, which was good.

Looking back to the black-haired woman's torn clothing, Morie gave a small sigh and slipped her arms out of her track jacket. Her heart skipped a beat for a moment as she realized she wasn't wearing her necklace--had she left it back at the gym? After the moment of intense anxiety, she remembered exactly where it was. Unzipping the right pocket of her jacket that she now held in her hands, she pulled out the leather necklace, a green stone fastened at the end. With another small sigh, this time of relief, she put it on, fingering the stone with one hand while she held out the jacket towards the woman.

"If you want to cover up some more, you can borrow this," Morie said. With her head, she motioned towards the shoes that the short man had just put down. "You look like hell. Put those on, and then start talking." She glanced from the woman to the rest of the group. It seemed like none of them had a clue what was going on, so they'd likely appreciate answers sooner rather than later. The platinum-blonde paused for a moment as she looked at the group. "Morie," she said simply, with a slight thumb point to herself with the hand that was playing with her necklace to make it clear that that was her introduction.
