So, is he human, or...? It doesn't say what species he is, and the purple eyes are making me think he might not be human. ^^;

• Special Skills: Aside from the skills needed for a tactical officer, Edith is well versed in combat. She's a pretty good shot with a phaser, and has taken classes in various martial arts; whilst a few of these are unarmed, she is particularly proud of her skill with the bat'leth. Even without a translator, she is perfectly fluent in Klingon, even if her accent and pronounciation can be a bit off at times.

• Background

  A native of Earth, Edith always showed a deep interest in military history of both humans and aliens, as well as in the various warrior cultures spread across the galaxy. Partially because of this, but also because of her strong sense of justice, she wished to serve frontline duty during the Dominion War, but by the time she had graduated Starfleet Academy the conflict was already over. Despite this, she enjoyed her brief time at the Academy, excelling in fields related to tactical matters, partaking in extracurricular martial arts classes (being especially fond of her bat'leth class) and engaging in a whirlwind romance with a Trill girl who she shared several classes with. Unfortunately, an accident put a swift end to that relationship, as a fatal wound led to her girlfriend's Trill symbiote being moved to another host Trill. The Trill was expected to break off the relationship her past life had engaged in, and due to their new host being male Edith was rather reluctant to pick up where they left off anyway.
  
  Soon after graduating, Edith was assigned to the USS Mjolnir, under the Tellarite Captain Larg; their mission was to help with reconstruction and peacekeeping in the aftermath of the Dominion War. During her tour of duty she came to develop a deep respect for her captain, and the two were often found hurling insults at each other as per Tellarite tradition amongst friends. Even after being transfered to other ships, the two continue to stay in contact, although Edith usually has to explain that Larg is a Tellarite whenever she gets strange looks at heading mail to her friend with "Greetings, you pig-faced bastard".
  
  Despite her somewhat hotheaded nature, Edith tries her best to approach every situation as seriously as possible. Almost too seriously sometimes, really, and those who only know her on-duty expect her to be some kind of ultra-strict stick in the mud. However, she's more of the "work hard, play hard" type, and off-duty is generally rather boisterous and fun loving. She's not without her vices, either, and shows a remarkable fondness for casual gambling, beautiful women and her secret stash of Romulan ale.

So this is technically complete now I guess. Might need a bit of reworking though depending on how things turn out, but hopefully the main gist of it is okay. Not so sure about a few parts of it (I'm a little worried the part with the Trill in her backstory is just pointless angst), but yeah. Speaking of the Trill, both her/him and the Tellarite captain are very loose plothooks I guess, in case there's ever need for something like that. ^^;

I am pretty sure most people would prefer convenience over aesthetics any day. And maybe they'll eventually be fixed up to look more aesthetically pleasing at some point, but for now getting rid of them completely just because you think "they're ugly" is... Kind of a little petty, for one thing.

Eh, the way Voyager ended was always one of my least favourite parts of it (I did enjoy the series even if it was pretty inconsistent, although that might be because I was a kid whilst it was airing), so I am fine with them not being back just yet.

Anyways, been looking at different ships and if not an Intrepid then maybe an Excelsior, a Miranda or even a Galaxy might be fun. Hmmm.

Eh, I think I remember the episode that was in and... I don't think it would be a good idea, really. For one thing, it seems to veer far too much towards "warship" for my liking. I mean I know conflict is something that comes up a lot in Trek, but I'd prefer if that wasn't the main emphasis, which going with a Prometheus would probably lead to. ^^;

...Do like the idea of some refitted old ships, though. Might take a dive into the wiki to see if I get any ideas.
