Current I mean, some people want to do it for the reason it’s supposed to be for, but it being all but outright mandatory, well.

@Ricky: I never thought about it like that, but it really can be, huh? I checked out the Mormons for a stint, and I can 100% see that being a reason behind them pushing that.

Tricks them into thinking it was their choice, when it was structured for them to fail.

The Amish doing that strikes me as a psychological way to keep people there. Isolate them > send them out > get culture shock > return to the comfortable rather than figure out a foreign culture.

Ashifa: Shoving/forcing the religion on someone isn't what Christianity should be about. I'm sorry if/that that's what's going on for you.

It was so... kind of you to stop by.

I'd say do whatever you want and think best. :-)
Well then! Jack of all trades, eh? Impressive.
No worries! Take your time, my friend. :-) Student? Assignment? Are you a teacher/professor, or currently attending a class, if you don't mind my asking?
A poison. If that monster had gotten her, even if she had managed to escape by herself, she would have died anyway if not for Alex. It would seem he had saved her twice in one day, even if one was ultimately by extension. And, even though he would heal quickly, he had been hurt in the process.
“Thank you, Alex,” Victoria said quietly. She took a slow breath. “So, the attack’s tomorrow night, right? Is there anything I can do to help? If my aunt and uncle found out I knew about that and didn’t do anything, I’d never hear the end of it... I should call them,” she added, her voice turning dark as she continued. “Let them know I’ve lost my phone.”
Well, I hope it does last, then! :-) I meant to respond here much sooner, but kept forgetting.
Well, that’s reassuring, Victoria thought with a frown at the prospect of being in the dark about exactly how many followers Luc had.
“Yeah, true,” she muttered when he finished speaking. She moved to place a hand to her face, but she stopped when the bandage on her arm pulled at a couple hairs. She tenderly flattened the adhesive, ever careful of the shallow cuts beneath.
Alex’s wound from the shade popped into her mind, and she glanced up at him, a glint of concern flashing in her eyes as it momentarily overpowered the other emotions vying for her focus. “Earlier. When that shade... Are you okay?”
Protected. Safety. Safety sounded good. Though, Victoria had the feeling that that option sat on rather rocky ground. And not just for her. The lives of people all around the city were in danger, and, by the sound of it, safety was less of a guarantee for them than it was for her. A seed of guilt planted itself in her at the thought of being protected, while so many others would be hurt or killed. She draped her arms over her knees and laced her fingers together tightly. She felt Alex's eyes on her, but kept her own gaze on her pants.
“Do you know by how many Luc’s forces outnumber you and your allies? Or will, once you round others up.”
Woo! Page three!

Alrighty! Thanks for the heads-up. I might actually have a few days like that here for the next ten days. I'm up to my neck in a project that I actually have a deadline for that is going to be semi-difficult to make. I'm thinking it will be cutting it close...

Have fun with work! xD And at least you are getting those hours in.
“You know he likes to spend time with the other boys sometimes.” Thayva took a swig from her cup. Until that moment, she had not realized exactly how thirsty she was. “If he needs an extra massage later tonight, I’ll have the time. He might need it after helping scrub down the dining hall!”

Nick was too busy enjoying his massage to notice as Jorn and Aurelian too, the tables on either side of him. He turned his head toward Aurelian when he spoke, the corners of his mouth pulling down.
“It definitely hurts the brain,” he grumbled as the masseuse worked a knot out of his lower back.
“Carry around that book of yours long enough, and it just might make your shoulders ache!” the woman said with a chuckle. She spared Aurelian’s massage therapist a quick glance as she scolded the child. “Come now, Saria! There’s no crime in letting the boy enjoy it without a lecture. This is a time for them to relax, just as much as it is to get treated.”

Kia thought about the question Laura posed her, letting out a groan of content at the release the massage brought. “Well, technically there was Gonan the Brave about two hundred years ago. He was a halfling raised by dwarves. According to legend, he was a mighty halfling fighter. But,” she drew out the word, “I get your point.”
The free pizza totally makes it all worthwhile. xD

Sorry, been slacking in conversational messages lately. Heh. I hope to get something up in the IC either tonight or tomorrow!
