Hello curious person, I am Rumiko Goddess of Chaos, Benevolent Dictator; The Bluemoon Dreamer....You know a nut case
Where do I come from? I could be a smartie an say the "Great State of Denial" but lets just agree that I like keeping my RL Life disconnected from my RP Life.
I survived Guildfall and have always loved this place even though I see a lot of good RP time eaten up in Discord drivel

I suppose I made an assumption based on the picture
The USS Minotaur would be between 100 to 75 years old but her class is still a reliable workhorse
We can always say she has just undergone a total refit after being heavily damaged in some battle with a minor race's fleet; It took a fleet to damage her 6-12 ships at once which means she as a ship has her own glory and perhaps even an Admiral as her patron who served aboard her or commanded her during the Borg War or even the Dominion war
Because she was in the Refit Yards for say 2 years her crew was needed to fill places in the Fleet meaning she'd need a new crew from the ground up
I actually agree with the Department head part for Bridge crew but feel it necessary to say that on a ship with 700-1000 crew it is common that the first officer is a Lt. Commander or perhaps a Full Commander but our ship isn't exactly a front line ship at her age. Because of that I can see her having Lieutenant JG as a department head placed there to season them for promotion; Geordi was appointed CE he was raised to the Rank of Lieutenant Commander but the Enterprise D is a newer ship and much larger than an Excelsior class.
I hope I don't come across as a pain but I am a hardcore Trek Fan and have been running a LUG campaign for 8 years now and love to read the novels so I've picked up a lot of details; even now I am reading the Typhoon Pact books and while not canon it is a good read
Department heads might be at rank Lt. Commander but the other positions would be covered by Lieutenants and Ensigns with officers making up perhaps 15% of the ships crew.
Oh and many forget that there is a rank between that of Ensign and Lieutenant so I thought this chart might be helpful

I have tried so hard not to make a comment that might seem negative but "Are the Klingons now Spider People?"
It's as if the crappy Pajama Uniform from Star Trek the Movie is trying to ruin the franchise
I know that TNG changed their look as well but obviously it was better thought out
The Fan in me wants to watch the show just as I did Enterprise which is easily the low bar of the franchise but this is just..........ARG!
Oh and I love that a friend pointed out to me that They gave us TOS, followed by TNG, followed by DS9, followed by Voyager, then ENT and now they are trying to give us STD.
I am now praying that "The Orvile" will soften the blow

I did a lot of planning for the first Mission knowing that as it progressed and my player's quirks and tastes were revealed I could tailor the next to more closely fit their desires.
I will say that the first Mission would introduce a series affecting plotline and it would revolve around a single entity after a fashion. I dare not reveal much more in the off chance I ever wanted to use it.
I do have a ton of experience with Star Trek as a Tabletop RPG having run a LUG Campain for nearly 8 years now and could help as Co-GM trouble is my writing level varies with my excitement
I have all sorts of Hardcopy Data resources in my collection, Star Charts, Reference books and RPG books....Oh and I love to do Research

Sandy drew near the raft and before she could even think to ask a man with short blond hair pulled her aboard and said
"Welcome aboard, soldier." He said, pressing two fingers to his temple and saluting. "I take it you weren't mercilessly ravaged by the big scary dolphin?"
Sandy laughed a little because she still felt silly for reacting to a dolphin as if it were a shark and because of it her mind was still working at high speed so she answered.
Well I think it was a girl dolphin so I was safe from any bad intentions and after Weymouth issued a warning to beware of amorous dolphins I admit I was worried about being Ravaged
Then she heard Aidan say
“So are we supposed to follow those? Or just go straight over there...” as he pointed towards a strange Island that was off to the right of the raft adding “It’s as if...it simply appeared.”
Sandy began studying the Island until she found to points she could use as reference knowing that ocean currents could easily block them from making the island no matter how hard they paddled; the Pacific was dotted by islands that could only be approached on certain points of their coast and some not at all.
It was then that she remembered her grandmother’s Compass that she wore on a chain around her neck. It wasn’t a very accurate device made more to appeal to ladies of the Victorian set who were enamored of the Adventurers and Explorers of their time but she could use the markings to measure the angles of bearing to see if they were in a current.
She was no navigator but she knew how to do this because it was a simple application of trigonometry and the measuring of angles and watching for any unusual shifts that favored one side of her zero-point over the other then she dropped it back into her shirt to protect it till she a little time passed.
