Catarina was still fast asleep, having spent most of the night making love to Vivian. It's been too long since she's felt a more gentle touch against her skin, and what was only suppose to be a few moments of passion became a night of pleasure. Even now Catarina was still a bit sore from all the play she did. As Vivian roused the warrior awake however, the drow's warm smiled gave Catarina's body new found strength. Sitting up, Catarina realized she was nude and at first used the bed sheet to covered her. but it was only Vivian in this room: Malkus had already left. Catarina came to the slow realization that she had spent that entire night with Vivian while Malkus was only five feet away. "Oh gods... I hope he didn't hear us..."

But there was much to do this morning. Today would be their first day under the employ of the inquisitor to hunt down that vampire. Catarina wasn't entirely sure what their first move would be, but whatever it was Catarina would have to get ready for it. She'll need to get dressed, find something to eat, get her gear prepared, and ready her mind, body, and soul for the battle ahead. But first, once Catarina was out of bed, she snuck a kiss onto Vivian's cheek. "I'll be ready soon." Catarina changed into some simple garbs, just a plain cotton robe and shoes made locally. Her favorite trouser and tunic were still soiled with sweat from yesterday, she she'll need to get it washed. Fortunately she could still wear her armor over the robes, she just needed to adjust the cloth around her legs. Once she was ready she left with Vivian to find something to eat.

Parum wasn't much of a drinker. Oh sure, she could sip wine all night, and she knew that alcohol were good money, but if she had any choice the only thing she'd drink was water. Alcohol dulled her senses and frankly, it was an acquired taste. A taste she never bothered to acquired. That, and if Parum didn't pace herself, she could easily get herself drunk. And no one would benefit from a soused halfling on the loose. So while she and Erika drank, Parum made sure to just have some watered down brandy, eating breadrolls with each drink.

She spent the other part of that night chatting with the locals as if she was an old friend. Most of the drunks and patrons were nothing but regular laborers, lamenting about their low wages or their lack of application. Parum pretended to care to coax more information from them, but alas, nothing but a bunch of complainers. Still, it was people like this that supplied the Thieves Guild with bodies. Disgruntled young men and women, able-bodied and ambitious, would risk more if they knew that "Safer" jobs were only a cut above beggars in terms of pay and status. But even the local swill wasn't enough to make any of them admit an open affiliation to any local theives guild, which either meant they had a tight lip on such matters or they simply weren't a part of it.

When night came, Erika chose to stay at the tavern. Parum did as well, taking a room next to hers. She made doubly sure to secure her room despite the innkeeper's assurance. Knowing the sort of people who run this town, Parum would take no risks. She added her own locks to the doors and barred the windows, and even as a safety precaution added a few charms and lit some candles in her room. These charms would protect her dreams and ward off scrying and teleportation, while the candles were meant to ward off spirits and wraiths. Of course, this was just folk remedies, and it was hard to say how well they worked. Parum had never had a problem with anything since she started, so she wasn't sure if they were working or if she was just lucky enough to never had been targeted.

Once morning came Parum was up and with the Inquisitor. She had brought a basket of fresh baked bread and the finest hummus the inn had to offer. Parum figured that she could bring it to her fellow adventurers for breakfast. But in the meantime, Erika would keep her company. "Good morning inquisitor. Did you sleep well?"
The fight was over, and no one had fallen. Orchid seemed to have ignored Parum's orders to protect the family and climbed onto a rooftop, much to her displeasure. The warrior also seemed to be in bad shape, though he was still standing. Still, Parum didn't want them to fight anymore if they had to. Even if only one went down, they'd either need to carry them to safety or leave them behind. Either way it weakens the fighting strength of the group, so they needed to get to the fortress quickly.

But before they could continue onward one of the children got Parum's attention. Apparently the kobold had awoken, and Parum knew that meant the creature could start answering some questions. They'll need to be fast however; they were still quite a bit away from the keep, and who knows what the creature may do to try and get reinforcements. She'd rather not have to kill him even for their own safety, however... She wasn't going to let the creature cause them any trouble either. Following the child back Parum arrived just in time to see the Kobold look at her and pretend to fall back asleep. However that wasn't going to fool Parum, so she walked over to it and prod it with the tip of her rapier.

"Rocen svern. Si tepoha visidarkic ihk wux. Anyui vis vur si geou ti levnim wux."

Meirin Kurenai

Meirin nodded and followed Ssarak out of her room. She did have some ideas for how to dress Ssarak, though admittedly dressing up a dragon man wasn't an easy task. Meirin's own fashion knowledge was... Novice at best, and nothing she's heard or ready took Eysires into account. Though the idea of an Eysire being dressed in something aside from furs or armor would be good enough. It's like a dancing bear: It doesn't matter if the bear dances well, just that it dances. Meirin didn't have anything here, but hopefully she'd find something for Ssarak soon.

Closing the door behind her Meirin kissed Ssarak on the cheek once more. "If you come with me, then nothing will go wrong. But before you get yourself wrapped up in more work, why don't we get some breakfast? I'm sure Professor Lucilia will have plenty of time for us once you're properly fed." Although they'll be spending a lot of time together if they're on the same mission, Meirin knew that once they're on the job they might not get a chance to be so close to one another. They might end up separated to handle their own duties, or forced to be apart due to extenuating circumstances. Point was, Meirin wanted to spend a bit more time with Ssarak.

"Besides, even I haven't signed up yet. I only know about the mission. Perhaps we could try to find other like-minded students to come with us, to save Lucilia time of explaining the mission."
Stupid sexy Hari.
@KoL

What a pity. And I was hoping that Hibiki might learn a thing or two from Victoire during their encounter. But I guess there is always next time isn't there?
@KoL

Awe. I guess this means Shizuka and Hibiki couldn't have their heart-to-heart with Diana.
@TheWindel

I'm here, I'm alive. I'll try to hop onto that pad and work on something too.
Meirin Kurenai

After letting Ssarak in Meirin also sat on her bed. Usually if they were going to be together for an extended time they would be in Ssarak's room, since his furnishing were large enough to comfort him. Still Meirin did make the effort to commission some larger furniture for the future, such as a bed. Before Meirin just slept on mats, as she did back at the monastery but after spending a night with Ssarak, Meirin wanted to try out beds some more. Hers right now was sized only for her, but that was just until she could make up her mind about one that could fit someone like Ssarak.

Her room aside, Meirin tilted her head at his mention about the missions. She would have thought that Ssarak would keep tabs on it considering how important the information was, though perhaps it was only because Djarkel was her home. Or rather her home was in Djarkel. The monks stayed away from the cities and civilization knowing the sort of trouble they bring, but that didn't mean they could escape everything. Demons and monsters were common enough in the land of darkness, but if there were evil people in Djarkel, then Meirin would protect her home. Both the college and the monestary. "I'll gladly join you Ssarak. You don't even need to ask." She said with a smile.

She stood up and took a journal out from her shelf. Most of the first pages consisted of scribbles and Meirin's poor attempt at literature. While she could read decently enough, her penmanship had room for improvement. It wasn't that the letters themselves were ugly, but her spelling and grammar needed more work. But she skipped those pages and got to the important part; a page sized map of Djarkel. "The mission I'll be going on will bring us to Djarkel again. We'll be following up on the leads from our last mission, so Lucilia assigned it. I don't know what exactly she discovered, but from what I'm told we'll be meeting with some important people in Djarkel, so we'll need to be prepared. She only wants those she can trust to maintain the college's good reputation with the barons."
@KoL

I know how to please. Hopefully Victoire surrenders honorably, because I don't think Hibiki can afford to hold back against her. Or worse, lose and get captured.
HIBIKI & SHIZUKA

Things were getting bad very quickly. Shizuka was holding her own despite getting overwhelmed, protecting Aqua Regis from being interrupted. But she alone couldn't kill every demon, and Hibiki was doing her best steaming the tide with gunfire and bombs. But the hole in the ceiling was their weakness, and more and more demons were flooding inside. Amidst the confusion, Shizuka noticed something odd going on on the ground. It looked like the blood was... Pooling at her feet. Knowing something was amiss Shizuka jumped up and put her shield beneath her, just in time to prevent herself from getting skewered by a spike made of blood. Hibiki was on an elevated position away from the bloodshed, so when she saw the blood gathering around her feet she simply rolled out of the way.

"Blood magic! And so powerful! It must be that Victoire from before." Shizuka and Hibiki heard her announcement earlier, and they both had a good feeling that this sorcery was her work. But if her magic was here, then that would mean she was too. Shizuka cut down more demons and spikes around her to give her room to move. She was in no position to try and find Victoire, as most of her focus was dealing with the demons around her. So it was up to Hibiki to find Victoire. Fortunately, her repair drones were still active so she had them search the room for her. Wherever Victoire was, she would have to be somewhere safe where none of them could easily get to her.

Meanwhile Shizuka was holding her own when she heard someone shout inanities. That's when she saw a demon... Shemale with a big axe, throwing a chain at Gwynn. Shizuka rushed towards her and stood between Gwynn and the demon's chain, bracing the shield to intercept it. However Shizuka was less confident that she could block that big axe. She was tough and the armor protected her, but Shizuka wasn't going to risk her limb trying to block a blade that huge.

And it wasn't long before Hibiki's drones found Victoire. All they had to do was look down from the hole near the ceiling to see a pale humanoid girl who Hibiki didn't recognize. She had to be Victoire, or at least an enemy. Formulating a plan Hibiki left her position and activated her Stalker Cloak, vanishing from all perception. It was too dangerous for Hibiki to try and use explosives near the box as the Queen's treasure was inside of it, but she could still climb. With a mighty leap Hibiki took out her knife, activated it's plasma blade, and stabbed it into the side of the box. Using it she climbed up the box to the top, her actions completely silenced thanks to the Stalker Cloak. She needed to act fast before Victoire defeated them.
