Felix had gotten dressed in his costume and headed up to the Hero Hub. Really, calling it a costume was a bit of an overstatement, it was just a reinforced version of the outfit he used when practising his martial arts. It consisted of an orange tank top, a pair of red shorts with a black stripe down each side, and a red ribbon to keep his hair out of his eyes. To protect his hands and feet, they were wrapped in cloth bandages. The tank top had a stylised nine on the back, surrounded by a flame pattern, a remnant from when he went by Fire Fist.

He was originally just going to take a random A rank mission to help pay for a new apartment, but then he saw Blake and Jamie and heard her yell about a job involving a lizard. Finally, he could have a proper kaiju fight!

"Excuse me," Felix said as he walked up, "But if there is a mission involving giant lizards, I want in. Ever since I watched Power Rangers I wanted to fight a monster at least ten times bigger than me!" He gave a grin and punched the air to punctuate the last statement.

I'm going to have to drop out of this. Sorry, I just lack the interest to make good posts.

Felix stretched as he woke up in his temporary accommodations at HERO One. His apartment block had been one of the buildings destroyed in the Ambleweed Invasion a few weeks ago. He liked the apartment, the landlord was one of the few who wouldn't throw him out the moment he revealed he was Ninetails, the Calamity Fox. The epithet sounded cool at first, but it made getting insurance and apartments a nightmare. Maybe he should see if Quake's building had a free apartment, if they could deal with her they could definitely deal with him.

Pulling on a pair of sweatpants, he moved to the kitchen in search of breakfast. He didn't care if it was currently the afternoon, he just got back from a mission in Ireland and jet-lag is a bitch. Pulling a beer out the fridge, he put some toast on and began making some scrambled eggs. No major additions, just eggs, milk, butter, and of course some salt.

Going into a mild trance, as he had done this a thousand times before, he thought back to his last mission. He had been tracking down the group known as the Tuatha, a group of supervillains lead by the ex-hero known as Dagda. He had infiltrated C.E.L.T. to gain access to the weaknesses of all the heroes in the database. As Felix's file was never updated before his transfer, he was called in to stop them.
The final fight when he tracked them down left the area around the base as a giant crater. He had been getting better at controlling the strength of his attacks, but in the fight he couldn't afford to hold back. In the briefing afterwards he did hear the director of C.E.L.T. talking about how he was glad I.C.O.S.A. was going to try and 'fix' H.E.R.O., but put it out of his mind for now. After all, his scrambled eggs was done.
Shadow Spectre

Like a flash, Zane swept in the moment the creature was downed, slicing a piece out of it and locking it into an evidence bag. Forming his wings and reverting his hand, Zane gave the two a polite nod before flying off towards the Hestia.

Nova Force

The Hestia had landed at the edge of New Haven, with a beacon to all nearby heroes to send critically injured civilians to them. Patch and Sam had cleared the landing site, and Patch was now working to evacuate the civilians. Patch was a sight to see in the Dreadnaut armour, crashing through rubble to rescue people, holding up broken apartment complexes so the last people can get out, and using his foam guns to extinguish the flames caused in the panic.

Raphael frowned at his computer. What Zane had said earlier had Sam doing analysis on the various villains in the database, while Raphael had a more pressing concern. The higher than normal pollen count would be a minor thing in the scheme of things, but if there was a plant manipulating villain on the loose... things may become much more dangerous. Gathering a sample of the 'pollen' was easy enough, and fortunately the medical compound had a microscope.

"Well... that isn't good." Raphael said, as he saw what was actually being spread across the city.

Zane allowed the needles to pass harmlessly through him, and began his analysis of the creature. Highly mobile, moreso than most organics, with a ranged attack that could be deadly to a human, especially if it was poisonous. Zane shifted his arm into a sword blade.

"Just keep the thing from moving around until I can get a trimming, then you can go full ham on it. I'd help, but it's hard to control constructs while moving."

Zane had just finished the evacuation and containment of his part of the city. All the civillians were out and the Mutations were boxed in by his hounds. It was time for phase two, fortunately there were many constructs around to be broken down and reused. Jumping down from the building, using the wings to glide like a dark angel, he prepared one of his less used techniques.

"Secret Art of the Shadows: Blooming Maidens."

The hounds melted into a sort of ichor that formed into large, flower-like, objects beneath every one of the ambleweeds. With a twist of his hand, the petals grew spikes and snapped shut over the ambleweed like a Venus Flytrap. Indeed the plant was half the inspiration for the technique, along with the execution tool known as the Iron Maiden. As he preffered not to kill his foes, the technique was shelved for use against non-human opponents. Something was definitely off though, the ambleweeds weren't nearly this numerous. Putting his hand up to his ear, he contacted Patch.

"Dreadnaut, I need you to run a search on plant based villains, there are far too many mutations for it to be natural."

Hearing an explosion nearby, he flew towards it only to find two of the Destuction Squad fighting as well. Ordinarily he'd ignore it and move on, but they were being attacked by something new, some sort of evolved version of the regular plant mutate. This might be a clue to who's controlling this madness. Flying down, he pulled the wings back into his body as he landed next to the duo.

"Much as I don't like your methods, we need to work together here. That thing was probably engineered by the person causing this mess. If we can get a sample, Ragdoll can identify it and possibly the villain if they have been logged in the database."

Project Exorcism, Log 37
Subject Phantom has proceeded to escape yet again with the hostage. It is unfortunate that the program has become so complex that a full purge of it requires the container to be rendered immobile for too long. As the Phantom has access to all the hostage's memories it has begun to develop countermeasures against us based on our previous work together. It has been discussed to bring in Forge to bind the hostage, but with him comes Exchange and she isn't ready for this kind of intense exchange. Current measures are...

Zane was interrupted from his notes by an alarm blaring through the lab. Pulling up the local newsfeed, it appeared that an army of the plant mutations has sprung up to attack the city. Immediately, he started giving out orders via the communicators.

"Dreadnaut, Ion Knight, you two are on rescue detail. Ragdoll, prep the Hestia for relief mode."

"Right!" came the chorus over the comms.

The Hestia is an aircraft designed by Patch and Sam in tribute to Thunderbird 2. An all purpose cargo carrier that can be equipped for a number of situations. Relief is a portable medbay, able to be set up in the middle of a crisis zone.

Zane and Sam departed ahead, Patch taking the Hestia as the Vulcan wasn't built for speed, the two flying at around 60mph, Zane with sprouted wings and Sam with exosuit thrusters. As they entered the city limits, the two split paths. Sam headed for the outskirts of the horde, trying to help with the evacuation, while Zane shot towards the centre of them. He was glad that sunlight possesed UV rays or he'd be completely out of stamina. As such, he was ready to go full throttle. Landing on a building, he addressed

"Don't worry now, citizens." Zane said, raising his hands. From the shadows of people, plants, and buildings, formed his shadow monsters. As he didnt want to raise further panic, these were just the hellhounds, large black canines pulsing with a light purple glow.
