Hello, there really isn't much to see here. :^D

In case you were wondering, yes, I drew my profile image. Do you like it? I think it has a depressing sort of beauty.

Disclaimer: I can sometimes be a little too honest, and my standards might be too high. People don't like that. But let it stand on record that I also view myself with the same light. I would not criticize others if I am not willing to take criticism myself. Be mature. Don't hold stupid grudges. If you've come here to scope me out, to find some shameful detail or quench some personal spite because my honesty upset you in some way, -- I'm sorry but there is nothing here for your desperate attempt at self-validation. I will settle the pettiness with an apology. Sorry. Happy?

I can't do anything more than that.

@zombehs it was a waifu. RIP

@jerkchicken I still have no idea what you're talking about regarding this proposed action... Anchor something, yes, but what comes next? What do you want to happen?

I don't know if this is some crazy trolling or what.

@kagethekiller Welcome back. Luckily, we haven't moved far enough to make him irellevant. But I can't promise that in the future if you don't notify me.
I want to divulge the nature of the things each of you have acquired/done, as to indicate just the amount of impact it has had on the initial design of this level. Because it might not seem like much, but already I've had to remap many locations and change numerous triggers. An NPC you've yet to even encounter, and never will now, already lies dead. But I've been convinced to keep my silence on such details by a spooky little voice. So all thats left for me to do is sip my tea and watch as everything I planned drastically changes and falls into chaos around me.

I'm impessed actually, and quite trilled to await what happens next.
@RedXCross...

'Terry' merely tilted their head and snarled, glaring at him with gleaming red eyes. Her voice seemed warped, choked behind this booming tone.

"Enough talking! Speak only with battle!"

In truth, the warriors did not need to kill one another when assigned one of their peers. They were hard enough to come by as it was, so War made do with the satisfaction of just a 'near death' beating. Though the Warbrand promised Terry it would relent once they got their 'fill', whether they planned to keep their word can only be proven at the anointed moment.

If past records are to go by, this possessed Terry was prone to making 'accidents'.

Watching Tobias take a ceremonious amount of time preparing for the fight, who tactfully readied his posture and took the scope of the surrounding scenery in with casual stride, annoyed the hooded warrior. They out a growl, the black and white raincoat twisting as it contorted to show its displeasure. It despised such things. Such a waste of time. But they knew to keep patient. It will all be worth it soon enough. Feeling the tension build up in the public space as the two warriors made themselves known was already making 'Terry' antsy. The hooded girl let out an unnatural laugh as it gleamed the innocent faces forming the crowd, feeling invigorated by the energy. Some of them would feel it hard to breathe suddenly, coughing as they were exposed to the canted power of her Warbrand. She could barely stop herself from drooling. Yes, more lambs coming for the slaughter.

This is just a taste... delicious morsels.

Finally, when Tobias stepped out, just as he cued, the battle began with a roaring upbeat.

'Terry' immediately lashed forward with their blade, like a beast snapping its head, the weapon hissing as it released a plume of noxious black fumes in its arc. Their bodies were more durable than any human, so the thing did not seem to care much about being tactical. Trading blow for blow was their intention. Quite a barbaric method, but it played to her advantage. One strike, a small nick, was all it needed to infect its prey, no matter her state afterwards. Then she can play patient, watch as they slowly and painfully succumb to the disease.

And for those particularly slippery targets, there was a countermeasure. Already, the area around the girl became difficult to tolerate. A leeching poison beyond any earthly comprehension began to take hold around her. It would take more time to take full effect, but already people around them were clutching their necks and gasping for air.

This left Tobias a grim foresight to the type of poison stored in her blade.

Down to clown.
@Jerkchicken Intending to do what, exactly?
@Everyone...

Ezain looked on as his former companions made their flight towards the Eastern front, standing firm as showers of sparks and stone sprayed all around him. The stairway acted as a shield to those passing between, and so they would be safe from collateral so long as it remained. He almost seemed relieved as he felt himself stand alone, but his suddenly expression gripped tight. He felt a piece of the large shells enter his body. His whole left half was blown away now. He stood there, clearly still alive despite being past the point of death. Perhaps because of the power bestowed upon him. Upon them all. He took only one breath before glimmering, calling upon said power. The pale tendrils leaking from his broken form seeped back into him and his black tattoo, his destined stigma went bright. There was no more time for sentiments. Letting out a deep growl, the horned man charged towards the marauding soldiers in a flash of light. For a moment, he appeared like a star. A blazing trail was left behind in his wake, Ezain enduring more bullets as they tore into his glowing form into pieces. The tunnel was engulfed in a wave of brilliant essence, with him at the helm. When the two fires collided, for a moment, the temple shone without darkness. It lasted only for a moment, one that lingered at the fringes of a what can be considered a second. This light of life.

But it would not last.

As the light faded, left with only a dying flame that lingered at the entrance, all those who survived would feel a deep sting. It was a pain both fleeting and heavy. Almost as if they lost a piece of themselves that they never knew existed.

Whether you mourned the loss or not, you needed to continue on. This sacrifice cannot be wasted. While his entry came and went early on, your fated end laid elsewhere along this journey. Continuing down the Eastern way, whether in the aid of each others arms or by your strength alone, the road down was as you might've expected. The tunnel was narrow and overly lengthy, and for a long while all that guided you in the darkness was the backdrop of fading light from behind. There was time for a short exchange before you would come to meet something strange.

There was a glimmer at the very end. Was this life, of Dwyn, as one of you pointed out earlier? Though after what you heard, it might be only a remnant.

But there was no time for questions of hesitation on the matter. The temple seemed to be fully awake by now, a trashing beast that cannot be laid to rest until its invaders are caught. The faint tremors you might've felt earlier now shook with a noticeable magnitude as moans echoed from behind you. A clamor of voices and barks, and other disturbing sounds came from the central chamber, following the great explosion that occurred there. There must've been dozens, no, hundreds of beings pouring forth, their hellish pursuit shaking the very foundations of the ancient structure. And among all of this, a strange scream can be heard from deep, deep below. Was that what Nera spoke of, the thing she wished for you to lay rest? Or was it just another beast that this maddened cult had conjured. Without any clear answer, all you can do is move on. Due to the pale flames that lingered behind after Ezain's sacrifice, the horde seemed to be deterred from this path for a while. Splashing the murky water seemed to do little, as the magical flame intended to stay its full duration.

Thus, the party was spared from pushing themselves in order to maintain the gap from their pursuers.

As you near the end, the disheveled study in sight, the light from above suddenly flicked off. The party was left in near-pitch darkness now. Not to mention the strong scent that leaked forth from this room. Calling it 'putrid' seemed barely sufficient a description.

@Jerkchicken It collapsed. Imagine a big landslide is there now. You can try. But you'd probably not get done with your second swing before you get overwhelmed and shoot down.

@Savo...

"Ah... Sorry!"

Raily shouted apologetically, but she was more happy than anything else. She never thought she would find joy in hearing that grumpy, irritable voice in her entire life.

"Fancy seeing you here, Wallflower! Looks like all it took was an all-out invasion to get you to leave that dinky old shop of yours for once!"

The two of them weren't exactly 'friends', but she liked the loner mechanic well enough, finding his reactions funny. Though that feeling might not be reciprocated from the other side. She would go to his odd little pipe-shop once in a while for advice on machines. Whenever Raily was stumped about a design herself, she liked seeing things from an outside perspective. She didn't want to bother Cid with her novice questions, figuring the busy old geezer had better things to do. So she figured it was best to ask someone she viewed as a peer. Most of the time though, that 'advice' was just irritated grunts to leave him alone and offhanded remarks on how she was stupid for using sparkles as a power source. She can never see eye-to-eye with him on such matters, often leading to heated arguments. How could he not understand? Sparkles, when properly utilized, possessed a much stronger charge retention rate than any simple electrical battery. Even if using one did have a high risk of internal overloads. Maybe it was because of their vastly conflicting backgrounds, one being in magic and the other in science? Regardless, each encounter would end with the two of them bashing heads and Raily leaving the shop in a huff, vowing never to return. Only for her to show up a week or so later to show him another invention, already forgiving him for his mean comments.

Seeing Ambrose now, swatting away the alien invaders with great strength, Raily viewed him in a new light. He reminded her of some of the seniors members on the defense force, with how he stood stalwart in the face of many. She wanted to cheer him on, shout out to how cool he looked. But her smile quickly turned to a look of worry. The separate swarms that had been chasing the two of them had now combined into a horde that now surrounded Ambrose. It seemed they intended on picking off the easier target first.

She aimed her wand at him, hoping to lift him to safety with an Aero spell, but suddenly the horde froze around them. The trigger seemed to be the gauntlet device he was wielding. She was amazed.

"Whoa...! You've gotta show me how you do that!"

But judging by his serious expression, she knew there wasn't much time before the effect would wear off. Flipping over the mass of stilled gray figures, Raily landed beside Ambrose and gave him a quick wink.

"You're not the only one with tricks. Let's test that swinging arm of yours!" She says, tapping his shoulder with her wand, casting 'Cure' on him, and bounding straight into the gray mass in the same movement. She flew like a swift sparrow, squeezing through the narrow cracks between the bodies until she finally reached the center. Turning and facing Ambrose, she bent down to one knee and prepared herself. Dapper is now striking a pose atop her hat. The one-eyed cat was either now totally into it, or had already given up all hope of making it out alive.

With one last breath, she shouts at the top of her lungs. "Batter up!"

In a jumping twirl, she points her cracked wand to the sky and casts the biggest Aero spell she could. Immediately a small purple twister formed around them, with Raily in the center. The violent winds scooped up the surrounding Nobodies, helpless to the pull of the vacuum as she continued to suspend them there for Ambrose to strike. Raily could feel her mana depleting rapidly, so this was probably their only shot to clear out the horde. Otherwise she'd be stuck in the middle of all of them.
