I haven't seen the movie in a long time. I had a generally positive time watching it a few years back. I'll probably see what you mean by re-watching it.

The shit wasn't as eye-catching as the shit from his other works to me.

@thewizardguy Dragon Ball Evolution? Are you SURE he worked on that? I don't remember, but if he did I'd be horribly surprised. I didn't watch it, I didn't have to, the clips were cancerous enough.

I found Unbreakable pretty good tbh. A lot of it is a matter of opinion though when it touches the 'eh' category. It's not longer opinion when it's shit like The Last Airbender.

@Archmage MC Oh yeah he burnt that bridge. I agree, The Last Airbender was horrible.

But it can be redone. Easily. Heck it may actually help a newer and better version to rise up.

I hear his recent work was alright, better than what he's been doing. I haven't seen The Visit nor that series he directed. I may stream those.

Edit: No he didn't rekk any of those series either. He only really touched Avatar source marterial.

His most shameless and mind numbing movies were The Last Airbender and After Earth. Those before that started the decline had mixed feelings, like Lady in the Water was pretty bad imo but it wasn't shit Avatar tier.

Also he didn't ruin the Avatar franchise, at all. Unlike Bay who milked the shit out of a beloved franchise that existed for a while now.

@Archmage MC Shaymalan was respectable or even excellent if you were a fan of his pervious works.

Then he sunk. Hard. It accumulated extremely fast when Signs came out. It seems a bit unfair to say he's worst than Bay, since unlike the explosion loving dude, he actually was viewed as a film making genius by many.

There's no forgiving The Last Airbender though. Never forget.
