Who came up with the idea to make our statuses quotes from philosophers, anyway?

We could be doing something productive with our lives... instead, we're here.

A random quote from some philosopher that we'll forget in a few moments.

The chemical or the anime/manga? Hard to tell when you don't capitalize the name.
That sounds like a good idea for @ManoftheNorth like nothing can go wrong.
Likewise.
And now we play the waiting game....

The waiting game sucks.

Also Caits I found 2 Red Dragon eggs so you don't have to trade me one anymore. If you could spare any ice, thunder, or magma dragon eggs, though, that'd be great. Whenever I get space for more eggs, that is.
Humans are awesome, despite being one of the weakest beings in the universe.
Hope it's not too late to join.

Name: Alexander Lee

Age: 20

Appearance: Here.

Powers/Equipment: Alexander has a Duel Disk containing an assortment of cards with images and text on them. This collection of cards is called a "Deck". The cards themselves have three classifications: Monster, Spell, and Trap cards.

Monster cards are the ones that can be "summoned", allowing for the creature on that card to manifest, obeying Alexander's every command. Most monsters have fairly average power, but the higher level monsters require "tributes" in order to be summoned, depending on just how high their level is. These cards are either yellow or orange in color.

Spell cards are cards that can display a variety of effects, from healing to damaging to creating meatshields called "tokens". These cards are turquoise in color.

Trap cards can display a variety of effects like Spell Cards can, but these cards must be placed "face-down" and be given a period of time before they can be activated. In addition, some Trap cards must have a prerequisite action before they can be activated. These cards are purple in color.

These cards can be powerful on their own, but certain combinations can prove devastating to an opponent. However, Alexander only has a select few cards to work with at a time. Alexander can only hold up to 6 at a time, or else the Duel Disk will force him to send cards in his hand to the "Graveyard", which is a special compartment in the Duel Disk for cards that have finished serving their purpose. Once cards are there, they are stuck there until a card can bring them back out, or until Alexander finishes a battle and the cards return to the Deck.

Also, Alexander only has a limited number of cards in his deck, and the deck itself is really just a collection of random cards, so creating a combo will be terribly difficult.

Fortunately, if Alexander has monsters summoned, the Duel Disk will create a force field around Alexander, preventing things from hurting Alexander. Generally, if anything tries to hurt Alexander, the force field will block it, and a message shows up saying "Invalid move." However, there have been known to be exceptions, and some attacks can still knock Alexander around, although the force field will still prevent Alexander from getting physically hurt. The force field itself is based on an amount of "Life Points", which make up the energy powering the force field. The default maximum is 4000, and if it is brought to zero, the force field will fail and Alexander will be susceptible to physical injury.

Examples of typical monsters being summoned are like:

Elemental HERO Sparkman: a yellow-and-blue armored man that can shoot lightning out of his hands. Nothing that special, really.

Ancient Gear Soldier: an old rusty humanoid automaton equipped with a submachine gun.

Neo the Magic Swordsman: as the name implies.

Personality: Alexander is very kind and friendly. He won't hesitate to walk up to a person and introduce himself. He is also willing to support his friends at just about any cost, even at the cost of himself if necessary. Alexander believes in the idea of honor, and will uphold that belief to his fullest capabilities.

Brief Backstory: Alexander was an orphan, living in an orphanage until he turned 18. In that time, he taught himself academic subjects like Math and English, as well as learned how to cook. He went through both good times and bad times with his friends, and shared both laughs and tears with them. When Alexander left, he decided to make the most out of his life and do what he liked.
Daniel rolled to the side to avoid a lunging Itzanma. The Itzanma turned to lunge at him again, but Daniel was quicker to retaliate, stabbing it in its chest. Jumping back as the corpse disintegrated, Daniel yelled out happily, "This is too easy!" Unfortunately for him, those words would come back to bite him in the ass.

Salamanders were firing shots of acid, which were coming down on him and the other students, forcing Daniel to keep moving to avoid getting hit. Daniel shot one fireball at the trees where an acid shot had come from, but it did next to nothing to even lessen the amount of shots. One shot managed to hit his short sword, and Daniel threw it to the side out of instinct. Great, now he was one weapon short.

With only one sword left and no way to fight back against the Salamanders, Daniel decided that he might as well just fight the things he could fight. Right now, that was the Itzanmas. Slicing through an Itzanma as he ran, he jumped and cleaved through another Itzanma that was lunging toward Oswald. Grinning, he turned toward Oswald and said, "You owe me one now!" before running off towards the others.
Nah, anything I wanna ask is already being asked ic. Besides, I don't wanna ruin the magic behind Joshua just yet.
So, there was a way to escape the mansion, and it was by making a deal with the one and only Marianne. However, there would be a hefty price to pay for that freedom, and at least one person would not come out of it unscathed.

As the creaking began, Conna'Cel followed Scarlett's advice and looked up, maintaining a careful watch over the source of the noise. Conna'Cel then gave some of his attention to Rosaline when she was discussing the topic about the Collector. So she's had prior experience with the Collector, although perhaps he was not known as that before. Regardless, it was information about the Collector, and any information about this anonymous being was of valuable significance.

Then the Collector finally showed up in person, and Conna'Cel couldn't resist turning his attention away from the ceiling to obtain information about the Collector's appearance.

Something was odd, though. His threat detection level on the Collector... it was in the negatives. That shouldn't have even been possible. There was no conceivable way that that should have been possible, and yet here was proof that it was. However, he expected the Collector to be a complete oddity, so it was not a complete surprise.

Already people were having confrontations with the Collector, and Conna'Cel didn't blame them. After all, they were all brought here against their will. Still, Conna'Cel did not have any human emotions to get in the way of his logical thinking, and determined that it would do no good to resort to violence so quickly.

Placing a hand on Faira's arm, Conna'Cel told her, "Patience. The time will come." As for the demon, he let him go on. There was no way to convince him to not resort to violence except by letting him see for himself just how bad of an option it was.
