My role playing career is something i consider as a hobby of some sort but as to how long i have been role playing, I would say that i have three to four years under my belt. (Though most of the times I was role playing, they were nothing as serious as this and were more of a means to relieve stress with my friends or test out ideas that came to mind with them.)
As for my preferences to genres of role play, I would have no biases nor specific preferences to any genre and would be able to adapt to the genre as best I can when placed into it.
Some of my hobbies consist of: playing games, surfing the web, walking, bowling, darts, and cooking. I sometimes write and draw things but not as much to consider it to be a serious hobby.

Ed was still lying on his back, expressing his desire for friendly and non-aggressive relations. In the short span that he had been discovered and forced to show his soft and unguarded underbelly to the others present, a number of things had transpired. It seems that the voice he had spoke to initally was interested in friendly relations. The news eased his beating heart, knowing that he had one less enemy and one more ally. Then another voice made itself apparent, introducing himself and asked their previous profession back on Earth.
The idea of 'previous occupation' made it sound like he actually wanted to quit. Farthest thing from truth, he was happy with life and was in his senior year...He actually wanted to keep on living. Others answered Lorek's question. One was a gardener/handyman and the other was a lawyer named Asteria. Peculiar bunch. None the less, he answered the voice known as Lorek. "College. Student. Senior. Year." Ed felt confident that he was getting more and more familiar on how to vocalize and pronounce words using this body's vocal chords. "My name is Edward Marsh, b-but you can call me Ed if you like." He wanted to make the somewhat tense situation a little less tense and thought that maybe a joke would help ease things over. "Wanna hear a joke about paper? Never mind, its tearable." It was a terrible joke. What more a pun. The feeling of embarrassment was too much and Ed simply covered his face with his front paws. Hoping to God, or who ever was listening, that the feeling would pass quickly.

Ed froze at the sound of someone, or something, saying the word 'sibling.' It seemed that the young dire rat was too enamored by the strange but fascinating crystal growing upon the wall. He slowly turns to face the source of the sound and sees two small dire rats and one large adult dire rat. Their smell was far different from the smell of his siblings, and surely his mother and siblings were still fast asleep back in the nest. Ed could feel his heart pump faster. If they were to deem him as a threat, it would be the end of him. No second chances, just there and then dead. He needed to show that he was not of any threat to them. The young dire rat chooses to lie flat on his back to show his submissiveness to the other dire rats. He was just there to explore the cave near the nest, it was not a good enough reason for him to die.
While lying down, he hears another voice. Inquiring if they were from Earth. Ed didn't need to even think when the new voice asked if he was a resident of that planet. "Ya!" Ed squeaked out in affirmation. He pauses for a moment, shocked that he was even capable of speaking considering his current state. He thinks for another moment; about the possibility that he could say more complex words now that he had discovered that it was possible for him to speak. Ed tests the waters and asks the new voice."You...friend?"

Ed took some time to gather his bearings and even more time to convince himself that this was not some sort of messed up lucid dream. Realizing that you had died and made a deal with what was essentialy the devil of this world and becoming one of his candidates to become one of his 'heroes' was, and still is, a very difficult pill to swallow; but now was not the time to deal with it. Ed would soon have to come to terms with this 'reincarnation' thing, but for now he was thoroughly curious regarding the environment he was in. The blue crystals he had seen growing on of the walls was a particular curiosity. The small body of water with some plants was also piqued his interest, but not as much as strange and almost magical blue crystals that grow on cave walls.
Doing his best to not catch any critter's attention, Ed sneaks a tad bit closer to a small cluster of them a little ways off the nest; trying to analyze or even identify what kind of crystal it was from his location. It seemed a lighter color than compared to lapis lazuli and it also seemed to produce a...glow of some sort. The fact that the crystal produced light, even in this lesser degree, fascinated him greatly. 'This is absolutely amazing...this kind of thing could never occur naturally back on Earth.' Ed thinks to himself as he keeps a steady but careful pace, wanting a closer inspection of the crystals.
