something was thrown. The roof across from him exploded mid jump, the force of the blast knocked him into the neighboring restaurant wall "She's ranged, Pallas how can we compete?." Murphy said weakly getting up,moving on pure adrenaline. His head hurt, little bits of debris were pushed out of Pallas and in turn he took some small but sharp pieces of glass from his arms and shoulder. "we gotta close the gap, sometimes Victory comes with being a little discreet and a little conspicuous". Murphy shook his head, she obviously didn't care about civilian casualties so going all out would have to be his only choice, or at least she needed to think it was.

Murphy quickly ducked into the broken and burning building, looking at the wall the was facing the street, left mostly intact, a few small holes on the far side, but he stuck near the far corner, he moved Pallas to his head and upper body and made him harden to diamond level.

He burst through the wall, yelling at the top of his lungs, jumping on a car, Pallas quickly moved to his calves and feet from his head and lower abdomen, he ran at his attacker. Running as unpredictably as he could, jumping, spinning and zigzagging his way into his area of effect and once he reached it he would slam his now concrete hard fist into her flesh hard face.

Yes, they could. I might make him wear a Bulletproof jacket from now on though.

So if he were, say, injected with a deadly neurotoxin, would he inherit the ability to inject the antidote to said neurotoxin into himself? That could prove interesting.

I say this because I already made my CS but I PM'd it directly to Eternity, so... yeah. There is neurotoxin involved.

Well if your characters ability is to poison people then ya, he would gain the ability to cure people, including himself.

whoa whoa whoa guys, hold up your missing something, maybe I didn't explain it well.

So if something kinetic hit him, something simple the weakest blast you could think of. He would only be able to use the opposite ability to that extent, anything above that is free game, but then you would have to go higherto hit him again, an again. You can beat him, especially since he's basically a normal human being. Even though you can't hit him your power you could probably stab him, or beat him up.

Also there is the bonus of him having to figure out what his opposite ability is.

another way you could beat this power is by using your power indirectly, in James' case he can use his ability to up his strength, that doesn't count as using your power against him. That's just you enhancing your body, more of an internal abilitym and for that he would need your DNA.

Also if he were to attack James with a ball charged with energy and he took it away, it would still hurt, it's not like he doesn't feel anything charged with kinetics being it just wouldn't have that extra kick that James' power gives him.

Personality: Ask any noblemen and higher up Edric is polite and comfortable who is punctual and is very virtuous. Ask anybody the same rank or lower and he is a cocky man who loves to spin a joke or two at someones expense, usually apologizing after word and inviting them for a drink. He is also known for being a womanizer, it is rumored that for every nobleman he has protected he has slept with all their daughters (if they didn't have any, their wives). Despite his attitude he cares for all of his friends or people under his care and would do anything to help them,

Backstory: Edric was born in ferelden. Born to a family of apostates it was no surprise he grew to hate the chantry. His father and mother were guilty of blood magic, but using it to help people, to bring justice to anyone who would do harm to innocent people. Always knowing their limits, until the day a job went wrong and his mother died. His father descended into madness trying to find his wifes killer. One day while his father was in the middle of a very delicate ritual where his father had not come out for three days,he heard his father saying to someone "take him, he's an incompetent boy, I just want my wife back". Edric felt betrayed and alerted the templars out of spite.

The next day Templar's barged the door down and went into fathers ritual room. Where they and Edric found Edric's father standing nest to a corpse with glowing eyes, chained to a wall and a demon of desire floating beside him. The fight ended in a mess of templar body parts and his father with a mad smile on his face. Until a knife stabbed him in the back. Behind him was the corpse of his mother, with a painful expression on her face, dropping the knife and kicking the knife to her teenage son "kill me, please my dear you must." She cried, Edric always did what his mother told him to do. The demon just left, vanished into thin air, laughing saying she'll be back one day, for her property.

Eventually more templars came to see what happened. He was their first suspect, but they soon realized his magical abilities were not developed enough to do something like this, and was sent to the tower. After that he devoted his life to becoming a knight-enchanter,wanting to rid the world of blood magic and incidents like his. Eventually, as soon as he finished his training a hole in the sky opened up, things got bat shit crazy and he joined the inquisition as a front line soldier. But once the threat was quelled he eventually left to wander, solving any demon problem people needed him to fix and quite possibly, to find the demon his father was dealing with.

@Automaton What happens if his foe has an ability that there isn't really an "opposite" for? Like, my char does illusions...

Ah YES I was thinking of this myself. Since his ability is focused more around countering other peoples abilities I think he would gain the ability of Reality awareness?.

The way I see it I imagine he has a whole bunch of stem cells in his body and when they come into contact with another mutants abilities or DNA they change to adapt to that. So once hit with an illusion they would send a message to the brain that says "this isn't real!". But that doesn't mean illusions and things like that are useless. For example if you made a snake appear and bite him and his body created the damage of a snake bite, he would get the snake bite but he wouldn't be fooled by that particular snake again. But if your character did it again but with more focus into it to make it more real it could fool the brain more. You know?, also Mental attacks don't count as me being able to counteract so if you made him afraid and see his worst nightmare as long as it didn't HIT him it will remain an illusion and he will be under full effects.

Powers: Power Opposition: Josh has the ability (when coming into contact with other mutant abilities or DNA of other mutants) to inherit the exact opposite abilities from said mutant for example if he was hit with a blast of light, depending how strong and how long he was hit for he would inherit Darkness manipulation for a certain amount of time. Much like the known X-Man 'Rogue' the longer contact is made the longer and more powerful the ability will be, That said there is no telling how long it will last, a simple light beam hitting Josh can last to an hour, while if hit again on a separate occasion could last him five minutes. If exposed too long it is theorized that he will get to keep some of the abilities, these kept abilities seem to be activated by being around other mutants, activated or not.

When he hasn't taken any abilities he is just like any other human being, same amount of durability,reaction,strength or your average twenty year old.

Bio: Saul grew up in a big house in a gated community with everything he had ever wanted. Except freedom his parents who were both social recluses didn't like him spending time outside to much, always hovering on everything he did. Homework,eating, everything. They thought that keeping him busy with toys and games would quench his thirst for the outside world. They were wrong, Saul would always sneak out of the house to see his friends doing anything they wanted that was morally okay. But one night he and his friends met the inheritors a mutant only gang with the mentality that Mutants were supposed to inherit the world. They hated all non-mutants and frequently picked fights with them. This night they had the bad luck of meeting up with 'Crusher' a lieutenant who decided to use Saul and his friends and his playthings. He had the mutant ability to increase gravity in small pockets. He once he started to apply gravity to Saul and his pals Saul stood normally, straight up confused, Crusher applies more powers to Saul. Enough to crush him completely. Saul then lunged at Crusher, not much bigger than he is he went for an uppercut and missed. But what happened after that what much more surprising. Crusher was launched into the air, with no intent in stopping, he just rose into the night sky. Soon objects around Saul started to lift, along with him and his friends, as they panicked he tried to focus on staying down.

After this incident it was all over the news, Jackson Moss or 'Crusher' landed in an intersection, no longer a problem. After this Saul got himself tested. And he was tested positive for Mutantisim and after spending 2 years in inside a mutant jail he sent in an application to 'the grinder' for Mutant Consular.

Demon Swords or Escaped Experiments Ideas

Do all the Demon blades have to blades?. Possibly other types of weapons for different types of demons?. For example a demon of rage and wrath's weapon could be something of a giant axe, while one of the air or wind could be a bow.
