Bio

My Name is Shadow Daedalus, but I will accept pretty much any diminutive form you can come up with. I am active in the GMT Timezone, and I mention this to help coordinate posting times with others.

I like to RP things with fighting and grit, but chilled out RPs are good too. I'm a little out of practice, so my writing style falls anywhere between Low-Casual and High-Casual.

Wide range of tastes, like Sci-fi, Modern, Fantasy and Historical. This also includes a diverse range of Fandom content, especially Games and Anime.

I don't usually play more that three characters at a time, and I'm more comfortable as a male character, but I might try to expand more in the future, you'll have to wait and see...

Not very interesting, so feel free to ask me questions :D

@Cuccoruler I can work with that. I'll probably give him a pair of wings tattooed onto his shoulders, one angelic and one demonic. I really like the idea of him switching between angelic and demonic forms, but c'est la vie.
<Snipped quote by Shadow Daedalus>

No, If he has parents that are angel and demon then he must be human. Simply put angel+Demon= Human.

That's pretty mundane, but I wasn't expecting anything outlandish like him to walk around as some hybrid all the time.

I'm guessing that the inherent light/Holy power of his Angel parent and darkness/Demonic power of his Demon parent cancel each other out, but do they completely neutralise each other (so he has no alignment to either side) or are they in a state of balance (in which he has both Holy and Demonic powers that he can use separately but not at the same time)?

The latter has more narrative potential, but I understand if the former is simpler.

@Ashevelendar apparently so :P
@Cuccoruler I was thinking of doing a character with a mixed race (Half-Angel, Half-Demon), but I wanted to swing the concept past you first.

His class would be a mix of a Mage or Exorcist and a Ronin
@1Charak2 He's noticed something is wrong, but he doesn't want to mention it in front of someone he's not completely allied with

James nodded once at the woman's confirmation, filing the information into the mental portfolio he was compiling of the two females. While they may have found a common enemy for the time being, James recognised that neither he nor other master had voiced any confirmation that they were in fact allies. This truce between them was tentative at best, but he had no intention of breaking it yet, and it seemed that neither did she...

Holstering his still-drawn weapon, He raised an eyebrow, as did Van Helsing, at the way she interacted with her servant. As he watched the almost motherly exchange, he pondered the relationship that the two shared. As he watched, His mind drifted to his own family, his mother patting his sister's head in much the same way, back before everything went to hell. The master's sarcastic remark drew his attention back to the present before his eyes quickly alternated from her to Van Helsing and back. The thought of her trying to reach the top of his head was briefly amusing, although the man in question seemed bemused by the suggestion. In response to the comment about his earlier actions, his eyebrow once again raised.

"You drew a gun on me, so my retaliation was entirely justified. I do agree, however, that we should leave the area. I have safehouse nearby. If you don't mind leaving those 'moving problems' behind for the time being."

His last comment was tinted with sarcasm, but he leaned away from any hostility. He really wasn't in the mood for a verbal sniping match. When she gave her name, he was a little surprised by her family, but did as she asked and didn't comment on it. He knew a little about the Fredericks, a family of Curse-focused Magi hailing from London, but other than that they were largely unimportant to him. He had hunted Magi much larger in both reputation and power, so it was hard to impress him than most. Taka had done fairly well in that regard, considering her skill with martial arts, firearms and the true, if a little unusual, bond she shared with her servant.

"James Thorne."
@CadenGallic Is this dead? I hope not

As the woman spoke to him, James took a second to think it over. He was fairly confident in the abilities of Van Helsing, but if she was that certain they were at such a disadvantage, it must have something to do with the limitations of her own servant. He abandoned hypothesising in favour of action as she gently pushed him. Drawing his own pistol, mostly out of instinct as he recognised the futility of regular firearms against Servants, he quickly entered a crouching run as he quickly but carefully skirted around the ongoing duel of Assassins. Part of him burned at the though of the Hassan escaping, the shred of him that mourned for the loss of his old friend and partner, but he continued on in spite of this. Besides, there was little he could do. Archer was elsewhere and his own mana supply was... much lower than it should have been. He hadn't noticed it earlier because he was focused on other things but he had only cast one low-cost spell and yet his mana reserves where almost gone... Growling in frustration, he pushed on as he followed his Servant's signature.

The first things immediately apparent to Archer was that he was stunned, both visually and audibly, and in pain. Blinking rapidly, his vision cleared and he looked to the source of his pain. Caltrops. A particular favourite of his own, Archer's expression became less than amused at the idea of someone managing to successful rig and spring a trap like that in the exact spot he was going to land... Stepping carefully over them and leaning against the wall, he quickly set about removing the offending objects from the soles of his boots, silently thanking the shoe makers of his time for saving him even more pain by lessening the effective length of the spikes. Instantly, his Hunter;s Mark was burning again as he tried to locate any sign of more traps, or better yet the one that placed them, but he could only detect the mana signatures of the people in their homes and the few on the streets. As the ringing in his cleared, he became aware of the sound of approaching steps though the alleyways and began to raise his weapon until he recognised the mana signature as his master's. Lo and behold, James turned down the alley a few moments after. He was rapidly approaching, but stopped as the Vampire Hunter raised his hand. Using the side of his boot, he swept the caltrops to the side before letting his master close the rest of the distance. The two needn't exchange words as James flicked his head over his shoulder and Archer nodded in return before they began to turn to leave...

It was then that a strange mist rolled past the pair, blanketing the area in a dense fog that made visibility poor at best, the acrid smell of sulphur coiling around them. Initially fearing a trick by the enemy, both of the hunters turned back-to-back as they watched for an attack until a path of sorts opened up, leading out of the alleyway back the way James had come. Moving slowly and close together, the two made their way back to the woman and her servant.

Sliding in beside her out of the mist, Archer tipped the corner of his hat in greeting before James spoke, quietly enough that the hostile couldn't hear them, but loudly enough that she could hear him while he gestured to the acrid mist around them..

"I take it this is your handy work, or at least your servants?"

His eyes suddenly catching movement, James barely had time to leap backwards far enough to dodge the three projectiles as they clattered off the concrete he just had just been standing on. A smooth Arabic accent caught his attention and he darted his head back to where the other magus was standing a second ago only to spot a new figure emerge from the shadows. He glanced to the woman in time to see the thrown blade nick at her neck and for her to begin moving away from her new opponent before he fully registered the identity of new arrival.

"Assassin."

The name slipped from his mouth in a low growl, his iron grip on his emotions slipping a little before he closed his eyes and took a long, singular breath. He sharply chanted a short two-line incantation as he slipped the weapon in his hands into the grip of his right hand and his left was cloaked in a mix of purple and black flames laced with lightning of the same colour. Channelling his Blast, he thrust his hand outwards the enemy servant and the spell shot forwards, peeling from his hand as a lightning-clad bolt of flames that shot towards the Assassin like an arrow from a bow. Not waiting to see the effect the attack had, James quickly set off after the woman. If he wanted to make an ally of her, she needed to live through the rest of the day.

On the rooftop, Archer turned his head sharply as his Hunter's Mark picked up the signature of an attacking servant before it faded away again. Using his instincts as a hunter, he deduced from the arrows at the hidden enemy must have been his opposing counterpart in this war, the other Archer, and that they must have had a hiding skill of at least B+ rank to hide from his Hunter's Mark. The grinding of metal close behind him caught his attention and he turned rapidly to see a curved throwing knife clatter to the ground as it was deflected by the savage knife of... a child? Where had she been hiding and how had he not detected her before? An Assassin class maybe? That would explain the wicked looking knives in her hands... A sharp glance from the girl brought him out of his surprise and he tipped the tip of his tricorn in thanks before she leaped from the rooftop with impressive speed.

"Archer, I've engaged an enemy Servant on street-level and I need some back up. One of the Assassins. Look for the Turban and red cloth on his face."

Archer gave another glance to direction that he suspected the enemy Archer was hiding before he turned back to where his master was previously, searching for his mark. He quickly spotted the Assassin he was looking for and dispelled the sword/pistol combo in favour of his trademark crossbow.

"I see him. Master, I believe that there are two more servants near by. From what I can gather, we are facing another Archer with a highly-ranked hiding ability and I just made contact with a young girl I suspect to be of the Assassin Class."

"Two of them? Damn it, things just a lot harder... One of them has to be that woman's. Probably the Assassin you made contact with... Hold fire on the female assassin for now, but the other two are confirmed hostile."

"Understood, Master."

Feeling the link close, Archer raised his mechanical crossbow as two parallel pairs of limbs opened and he closed one eye as he lined up the sights of his weapon, leading the target until he gently squeezed the trigger, a bolt flying towards the Arabic Assassin's head before the buildings broke his sight line, making it unclear if the attack had managed to connect. Taking a final glance towards the enemy Archer's approximate location, Van Helsing tapped into his natural B+ Agility and followed after the white-haired assassin, leaping towards a lower sloped roof and sliding towards the edge. Grabbing the ledge to stop his fall, he dropped gently into an alleyway before setting out of find his master.

--------<========>--------

James watched from behind the corner of a building as the young Assassin girl arrived to engage the Arabic Assassin. Using the distraction to move out of his cover, he spotted the woman as she shouted for a truce between them. In response, he ran to her position and slid to a stop beside her. Flipping the gun in his hand so that he was holding the barrel, he offered the weapon to her.

"Truce. For now, we need to help each other out..."

He paused to pull the sleeve up from his left arm, exposing the three dark red marks on his forearm. The two on the sides were roughly 'L' shaped and line in the center ended with a diamond at one and a chevron at the other. If someone where to draw a comparison, they took the shape of a stylised crossbow with a bolt notched and ready to fire.

"...As fellow Masters. My servant told me that we're not facing one Servant but two. An Archer with a tricky stealth ability is hiding somewhere nearby. What do you say we show them who's the better Archer/Assassin pair?"
