Mass Effect: The B Team

Yeah, that's fine xD Although as I'll detail in the OOC, people were chosen, not volunteered. After all probably anyone would volunteer for what they think is getting away from the action and going on a 'vacation' from world to world being a negotiator.

I'll probably keep this to 4-5 people including myself, just to keep it with that feeling of a squad like Mass Effect always had.

I'm thinking a lot of things with this team would be lost in translation so to speak, as the Alliance Command is having a hell of a time coordinating things, so people end up where they weren't meant to be... like, I don't know, an actual doctor being the Commander.

Yeah seems about right to me. Basically anyone is fine as long as they aren't someone who is both trained, and experienced in the field. Fresh out of training is fine, because they lack the actual knowledge of what it's like to be out in the field.

Have you ever thought to yourself, man, that Commander Shepard person sure was great... but there was no way he did everything alone, right? Or even just his crew! Stories tell of the Normandy, and the heroes aboard it that aided the Commander in saving the Galaxy from the Reapers. But... there were other soldiers, right? Other groups? It couldn't have been JUST Shepard out there... right?

And that was where the B Team came in, a smaller group in a Not-So-Experimental Frigate of their own. They had a similar job to the crew of the Normandy. Go out, meet allies, help them against the Reapers, earn their trust and support to take back Earth. Simple right? Well, it's not quite as simple when you're not the Man...Woman? The Myth, the Legend Him/Herself, Commander Shepard.

Things are tougher when your Commander's first words are "Me? A Commander? But, why me? No like, literally, why specifically ME."

So this is basically just a RP taking place during Mass Effect 3. The Reaper invasion is in full swing, Earth is all but gone with little more than a resistance on the surface, and the Alliance is trying to pull together support for an all out assault to take it back.

Our team is literally just a second team doing the same thing as the Normandy, but without being all that special, at least, that's the description that would be given in official reports. Obviously our characters will be more special than you'd be lead to believe, rather skilled in their own rights, even if they make... mistakes.

This is intended to be a more light hearted side to the Reaper Invasion, with a team of misfits strung together from 'Whatever the Alliance could get their hands on', so you can imagine they're not entirely cut out for the mission they're put on. But hopefully, they'll get it done, with as little screaming and panicking as possible.

I'd like to focus on characters that aren't just 'They've been a soldier for years, they're a great shot and can easily keep their cool in a fight'. I'm more looking for people to play "Jim from accounting was given a gun and told to go save the world. This is working as intended. Welcome to N7 Bucko."

Comedy would be a good description, but we'll have plenty of serious moments too.

All the 'normal' races are acceptable. This means:

Human
Asari
Turian
Krogan
Quarian

And yes, Salarian is acceptable as long as you understand the race. It has been stated in lore that Salarian aren't just smarter and socially different because they are raised differently, or because they have a different mindset. They LITERALLY have a different perception of the world around them, and don't think like other races, especially humans do.

Potentially Drell and Volus too?

Basically Humanoid Citadel races, and Normandy races only. No Elcor, no Hanar, No Geth (They're still all at war.), No Vorcha or Batarians, no Threshers, and no Pyjaks. I think you get the point. If they serve on the Normandy at any point, they're acceptable. And Volus because you gotta love the little bastards.

Think it's all changed around. Left the name and Codename the same since there would have never been a reason for her to be given a false name of any kind, I figure giving an Innovade a Real name, and then a Codename would be strictly for Innovades meant to actually blend in with people.

And alright, I'll make her an Innovade but since Innovades are kinda, made by Celestial Being that means she doesn't really have any history to speak of.

Law, Order, & Equivalence: A Fullmetal Alchemist RP

Olivia was about to go absolutely mad. Hold up in the Barracks, she wasn't sure if she was allowed to leave. She forgot to ask... wait for orders they said right? Well that would assume she was supposed to wait here then. How else would they reach her? Sending someone running through the city looking for her would just be annoying. Who knows where she could be. Although, those messengers were pretty good at finding the people they were looking for...

No no, it was best she stay put. Just in case. She hadn't been given direct permission to leave, and it felt like a stupid thing to go ask someone about. She didn't want to seem dumb, but also didn't want to seem like she was eager to leave. Whether or not she WAS eager to leave or not wasn't the point. Yet her mind kept going back and forth. Just ask someone... no, just stay put. It can't hurt to at least know if she's allowed to though, right? Well that information wouldn't be too useful if she doesn't intend on leaving... but if she CAN leave, she will, right? But it's better to just not ask...

Her brow twitched in annoyance as she just sat there on a sofa, as if she was in a meeting with nobody immediately sitting with her. Hands on her knees, looking like she was about to burst with annoyance. The problem was, all of this annoyance was with herself so it wasn't fair to let it out. But this waiting was TORTURE. Why was it torture again? She could go read something. Make some food, exercise or train. Something just kept her down, making her feel as if she was supposed to just sit here. Almost like she didn't have permission to even move, or breath... was she supposed to breath?

THIS WAS GETTING RIDICULOUS. She was supposed to be a Major now, right? She couldn't very much hold that rank if she couldn't even work up the nerve to get off her butt without permission to do so. Her father always said working for this kind of group was more personal... everyone knew everyone, but that was a different time surely. This was a completely different organization. She pulled herself up to her feet with a huff and turned to walk out of the lounge area into a hallway, and after a short check of what was where, headed off to the... did this place have a library? No, best go somewhere else. She ended up heading to the training room, and took out her Aunt's sword to get in some practice. It let her focus on something else, like stabbing the poor dummy that was her current victim.

Biography/History: As an Innovade, she was pretty much created by Celestial Being. She feels like her entire existence is to 'serve the plan' so to speak. As such, no matter what, the mission comes first, and her place in it all. She never really experienced a normal life, having friends, or anything that comes with such things. Because of this she can be rather, difficult.

From the moment she woke up she acted as an assistant to Veda, as most of her kind did. She was the one who approached many people who Veda had chosen to become part of Celestial Being. If a Scientist, or Engineer, or even a Doctor was chosen to join Celestial Being, it was likely Viraa who approached them, and made them the offer and convinced them to accept it. She was also ultimately the one who approached the Gundam Meisters to inform them of their place within Celestial Being, and if necessary, convince them to join as she had done with others.

It was for this reason that Viraa was given a female body. While many Innovades are at least somewhat male or female, it wasn't often that they were fully given a gender by Veda. The exception, was Innovades such as Viraa who needed to fit in with Humanity, and not be too off putting when she approached the people she was intended to recruit.

When recruitment died down, she typically would act as a personal escort to any VIPs within Celestial Being should it be needed. It was rarely needed, but still, just to be safe she was often put into the company of any VIPs who were going to largely public places. To her, it felt odd as they had not yet made their presence known so it wouldn't be as if they had enemies who were looking to shut them down. Yet. She was a combat Innovade, but she didn't expect that meant protecting VIPs from threats that didn't exist... was she supposed to keep them from tripping over their own shoelaces or something? It baffled her to no end.

Imagine her surprise however, when Veda informed her that she would be a Meister herself, one of the forefront tools of the whole plan. She felt honored, and special, and it honestly did little to help her 'mightier than thou' complex when it came to others who she felt were less important to the plan, or didn't understand it as well as she did.

At least she finally understood why she was a Combat Innovade.

Skill Set: As an Innovade she can use Quantum Brainwaves to connect to Veda, and view any data she has access to. This means reviewing mission plans without needing to see them, information on the enemy. Beyond this she is considered a 'combat Innovade', so she specializes in piloting Mobile Suits.
